“너를 바로에게 신같이 되게 하리라”

“여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 볼지어다 내가 너를 바로에게 신 같이 되게 하였은즉 네 형 아론은 네 대언자가 되리니 2 내가 네게 명령한 바를 너는 네 형 아론에게 말하고 그는 바로에게 말하여 그에게 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 내보내게 할지니라 3 내가 바로의 마음을 완악하게 하고 내 표징과 내 이적을 애굽 땅에서 많이 행할 것이나 4 바로가 너희의 말을 듣지 아니할 터인즉 내가 내 손을 애굽에 뻗쳐 여러 큰 심판을 내리고 내 군대, 내 백성 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 인도하여 낼지라 5 내가 내 손을 애굽 위에 펴서 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 인도하여 낼 때에야 애굽 사람이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 하시매 6 모세와 아론이 여호와께서 자기들에게 명령하신 대로 행하였더라 7 그들이 바로에게 말할 때에 모세는 팔십 세였고 아론은 팔십삼 세였더라” 

서론

지난주간에 렘넌트 VBS 를 잘 마쳤다. 제가 낮에 강의를 듣고 저녁에 와서 유투브 동영상을 봤다. 홍수가 일어나고 재해가 있는것을 봤다. 그것을 보면서 하나님께서 어떤 계획을 가지고 이렇게 하실까 생각했다. 참 안타까운 마음도 들었다. 그것을 보면서 어느순간에 갑자기 지금 나와 함께 하는 천사도 이것을 함께 보고 있겠구나 싶었다. 또 하나님도 나와 함께 하시니 이것을 알고 계시겠지 했다. 이루어지는 모든 집회, 오고 가는 발길 생각하면서 하나님께서 그 모든 발길들을 인도 하시는구나 생각하게 되는 시간이었다. 여러분들은 어떤지 모르겠다. 여러분이 어떤 영상을 볼때 혼자 보는것이 아니라 함께 하시는 하나님, 천사가 함께 보고 있다 느끼시나. 만약 그것을 느끼시며 본다면 그 사실자체에 감사함이 들것이다. 하나님이 어떤 마음으로 함께 보시고 있을지 생각 해보시는 계기가 되었으면 한다. 분명한것은 우리에게 보이지는 않지만 하나님께서 동일하게 항상 우리와 함께 하시며 역사 하신다는 사실이다. 

1. 여호와의 응답 The Lord's answer

(1) 신같이 되게 하리라 I have made you as God

출 Exodus 6:12, 20, 렘 Jeremiah 1:6, 고전 1 Corinthians 1:27, 출 Exodus 7:1, 4:7

지난주에 아주 귀중한 말씀 받았다. 모세가 하나님께서 하시는 명령을 받고 그 앞에 저는 입이 둔한 자 입니다 라고 고백한다. 입이 둔한 자 라는 말은 할례받지 못한 입을 가졌다 하는 것이다. 아, 나는 거듭나지 못한 자 입니다, 나는 무능한 자 이며 내 힘으로는 불가능 합니다 고백한 것이다. 모세가 그렇게 고백하며 느낀것이 출 6:20에 나의 가문마저 자랑할 것이 못 됩니다 했다. 하나님 앞에 자신뿐만 아니라 출신마저 자랑할 것이 못 된다 고백했고 그러한 고백을 하나님께서는 기뻐 하신다. 예레미아도 이러한 고백 했다, 렘 1:6, “내가 이르되 슬프도소이다 주 여호와여 보소서 나는 아이라 말할 줄을 알지 못하나이다 하니”. 하나님께서는 그 말씀 듣고 기뻐 하시며, 그러면 내가 너를 도와줄께 하시며 본격적으로 일하셨다. 항상 붙잡을것은 고전 1:27 말씀이다, “그러나 하나님께서 세상의 미련한 것들을 택하사 지혜 있는 자들을 부끄럽게 하려 하시고 세상의 약한 것들을 택하사 강한 것들을 부끄럽게 하려 하시며”. 언약을 잡으시기를 바란다. 하나님께서는 누구를 기뻐 하시는가. 어떤 사람을 쓰시는가 – 붙잡으시라. 내가 부족하다, 미련하다 연약하다 – 전혀 관계 없다. 하나님은 나는 아무것도 할 수 없습니다 고백 하는 자를 쓰신다. 모세가 나는 도저히 불가능 합니다, 고백 했을때 주신 응답이 1절 말씀에 나온다, “여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 볼지어다 내가 너를 바로에게 신 같이 되게 하였은즉 네 형 아론은 네 대언자가 되리니”. 저는 여러분들이 이러한 축복 받기를 원한다. 모세가 받았던 축복이 여러분들의 것이 되기를 기원한다. 

(2) 대언자의 증언 The testimony of the prophet

출 Exodus 7:2, 빌 Philippians 2:13

여기서 중요한 말씀 붙잡아야겠다. 2절, “내가 네게 명령한 바를 너는 네 형 아론에게 말하고 그는 바로에게 말하여 그에게 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 내보내게 할지니라”. 너무나 귀중한 말씀 우리에게 주고 계신다. “너는 네 형에게 말하고” 모세는 여호와의 종의 역할을 감당 했다는 것이다. 1절 말씀 마지막에, “네 형 아론은 네 대언자가 되리니” 라고 했다. 모세가 종 이라면 아론은 대언자로 역할을 감당 하는것이다. 종은 주인이 하는 말을 그대로 전해야 하는 것이다. 주인 되시는 여호와의 말씀 그대로 전하는 것이 그의 역할이다. 대언자는 종의 말씀을 받아 현장에 그대로 전달 하는 것이다. 

 이 종이 하는 말씀이 아니라 하나님께서 하시는 말씀으로 받고 그 대언자의 역할 감당 하는 것이다. 너무나 중요한 말씀이다. 하나님의 능력은 어떻게 나타나나. 인간의 능력, 지혜, 지식이 전혀 필요없다. 말씀 자체에 권능 이 있다. 말씀을 그대로 증거할때 거기서 권능이 나타나는 것 이다. 단지 인간은 종 된 역할만 감당하면 되는 것이다. 인간적인 생각으로 가감하면 영광을 가리게된다. 저는 이번 주간에 세계무역센터의 총재 되었던 이희돈 씨의 간증을 들었다. 세계 경제를 움직이는 경제대통령 이라는 평가를 받았던 분이다. 이 사람이 큰 꿈을 품고 유럽으로 유학에 가게 되었다. 그의 어머니는 믿음이 좋으신 권사님 이었다. 공항까지 나오셔서 편도 비행기표를 주며 봉투를 건냈다 한다. 비행기 타서 기대부푼 마음으로 봉투를 열었더니 돈은 없고 편지가 있는것이다. 너희 조상의 하나님이 너를 도우시리라 하는 메모가 있는것이다. 그렇게 어머니가 주신 말씀을 언약으로 잡고 유럽으로 떠났다. 파란만장한 유학생활이 그렇게 시작이 된 것이다. 그런데 이 사람의 꿈은 옥스포드 대학에 들어가는 것 이었다. 옥스포드 대학은 영국에서 제일 좋은 대학이 아닌가. 그래서 입학원서 내기 전에 캠퍼스에 가서 여리고성을 돌듯이 걸으며 기도 했다고 한다. 입학을 하고 싶은데 하나님께서 도와주시라 기도 한 것이다.

그렇게 이틀동안 기도 한 다음에 다시 가서 교수를 만나게 되었다. 서류를 제출 하는데 비서가 무슨 목적으로 방문 했느냐 묻더라. 입학원서 내러 왔다 하니 그 서류를 가지고 학장님께 가더니 금방 나와서는 NO 하며 거절을 받은것이다. 보통 그런 일이 있으면 체념하고 돌아가는데 이 분은 살아계신 하나님을 믿고 실망하지 않고 다시 캠퍼스를 돌며 기도했다. 이스라엘 백성들이 여리고 성을 소리 내지 않고 돌았듯이 그렇게 계속 기도하며 걸었다. 비서가 보니 입학거절 당한 동양인 친구가 계속 캠퍼스를 돌아다니는것이다. 불쌍해 보였는지 이리 와보라 하며 왜 계속 돌아다니냐 물었다고 한다. 이에 그는 학장님을 만나 거절사유를 듣고 싶다 말했다. 그렇게 학장님을 만날 기회를 얻게 되었다고 한다. 학장님이 그의 이야기를 듣더니 이 옥스포드 대학은 굉장히 비싼 학교고 여기서 공부 하려면 실력이 있어야 된다 말했다. 그 이야기를 듣고 나는 실력은 있다 느끼는데 모자란 부분을 더 배우기 위해 여기에 왔습니다 대답했다 한다. 그 이야기를 듣더니 학장이 묻기를 그러면 학비는 있느냐 했다. 돈은 없지만 이 학교에서 장학금 주시면 제가 공부할수 있습니다 답했다고 한다. 결국 이희돈씨는 장학금 받고 옥스포드에서 공부 할수 있게 허락을 받았다고 한다. 하나님을 의지하며 기도하고 응답 받은것을 실질적으로 체험 한 것이다. 여기서 공부를 정말 열심히 마치고 미국으로 가게 된 것이다. 당시 영국에서 미국 가는것도 힘들었다. 그래서 미국 비자 신청 하기 전에 내가 미국에 가지 않으면 안 되는 이유 열가지를 썼다고 한다. 그리고 거기 마지막에 내가 늦으면 늦을수록 미국에 손해 입니다 라고 썼다고 한다. 그렇게 편지와 함께 비자신청서를 냈다고 한다. 그것을 읽은 담당 영사가 정말 미국에 당신이 필요하다 느끼냐 물었다고 한다. 당장에 그렇습니다 답했다고한다. 그 이야기를 들은 미국 영사는 마음에 감동을 받은것이다. 아무 배경도 없는 그가 인터뷰 세시간 만에 무사히 통과 해서 비자를 받은것이다. 그런 믿음을 가지고 기도로 응답 받은것이다. 또 한가지 그의 믿음을 알수 있는 부분이 있다. 미국에 왔는데 공부 하는게 얼마나 힘드나. 양말을 팔면서 공부를 해야 하는 상황 이었다고 한다. 장사를 같이 하던 한국 분이 이런 이야기를 한 것이다, 네가 미국 주류사회에 도전 하는것은 계란으로 바위를 깨트리는 것과 같다. 그 이야기를 듣는데 이 사람이 확신이 들기를 믿음이라는 것은 그 계란으로 바위를 깨트리는 것이 아니겠느냐. 그렇게 인도받아 서밋이 되었다. 빌립보서 2:13, 너희 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니 자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 너희에게 소원을 두고 행하게 하시나니 – 하나님의 말씀을 믿는 종을 당신은 사용 하신다는 말이다. 바로 이 사람을 현장의 증인으로 하나님은 사용 하신다. 지금도 하나님께서는 이러한 사람을 찾고 계신다. 여러분들이 이것의 증인 될 줄을 믿는다. 3절 말씀 보겠다, “내가 바로의 마음을 완악하게 하고 내 표징과 내 이적을 애굽 땅에서 많이 행할 것이나” 바로의 교만한 마음을 그대로 방치 하시겠다 선언 하시는 부분이다. 롬 1:28에 이렇게 나온다, “또한 그들이 마음에 하나님 두기를 싫어하매 하나님께서 그들을 그 상실한 마음대로 내버려 두사 합당하지 못한 일을 하게 하셨으니.” 교만한 자는 하나님께서 은혜를 거두시고 그대로 방치 하신다. 그러면 어떻게 되냐면 4절 말씀 처럼 된다, “바로가 너희의 말을 듣지 아니할 터인즉 내가 내 손을 애굽에 뻗쳐 여러 큰 심판을 내리고 내 군대, 내 백성 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 인도하여 낼지라”. 바로의 교만한 마음이 하나님께 도전하는 마음, 하늘을 찌르는 마음으로 가득 차게 되는것이다. 아무리 하나님 말씀 전해도 하나님 말씀을 거부하게 되는것이다. 그럴때 하나님께서 어떻게 하시나, “내 손을 애굽에 뻗쳐 여러 큰 심판을 내리고 내 군대, 내 백성 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 인도하여 낼지라” 하나님께서 살아계신 증거를 보여주신다 이 말이다. 

2. 여호와의 영광 The Lord's glory

(1) 이적과 표징 Signs and wonders

출 Exodus 7:3-5

롬 Romans 1:28

5절, “내가 내 손을 애굽 위에 펴서 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 인도하여 낼 때에야 애굽 사람이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 하시매”. 재앙을 당하고 난 다음에, 그것을 체험 하고 난 다음에야 비로소 이스라엘 백성들의 출애굽을 허락한다. 이것이 말씀 한 그대로 성취 될것이라 했다. 우리가 항상 붙잡을 것이 바로 애굽 사람들로 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 하신 부분이다. 세상 어떤 신 도 이런 신이 없다. 하나님은 말씀 하신 대로 성취하시는 하나님 이라는 말씀이다. 그래서 여호와 라는 것이다. 여호와는 언약 주신 그대로 이루시는 여호와다. 여호와인줄 알리라 하는것은 내가 살아계신 하나님인 줄을 알게 하리라 하는 말씀이다. 창세전부터 계시고 영원까지 계실 분 이 우리의 여호와 하나님이시다. 지금도 동일하게 살아계시고 말씀 주시고 우리를 인도 하심을 우리가 알아야한다. 지금도 흘러가는 역사 속에, 가정, 삶 속에 동일한 말씀 주시는 하나님 되심을 우리가 붙잡아야 하는 것이다. 그런 여호와  하나님 이시다. 

(2) 모세와 아론의 순종 The obedience of Moses and Aaron

출 Exodus 7:6-7

막 Mark 9:41

6절, “​​모세와 아론이 여호와께서 자기들에게 명령하신 대로 행하였더라” 출애굽도 명령하신 그대로 행해졌다 이 말이다. 중요한 말씀이 그 바로 뒤에 7절에 나온다, “그들이 바로에게 말할 때에 모세는 팔십 세였고 아론은 팔십삼 세였더라” 실질적으로 육체적으로 힘든 상황인데 불가능한 상황인데 하나님이 함께 하시니 가능하였다 라는 것을 나타내는 것이다. 렘넌트들 중에도 나는 못해요 불가능 해요 하며 포기 하는 경우가 있다. 하나님께서 함께 하시면 절대 불가능은 절대 가능이다. 하나님께서 나를 사용하시겠다 하시면 불가능 할 것이 없다. 하나님께서 하실 일, 계획 붙잡는 것이다. 이희돈 장로 이야기를 조금 더 하겠다. 그의 간증에 참 많은 감명을 받았기 때문이다. 그렇게 미국에 와서 교수가 된 것이다. 상황적으로 아주 좋은 위치가 된 것이다. 어느날은 아내가 오더니 말 하는것이다, 당신이 성경공부중에 가장 좋을 때는 하나님께 헌신하라고 하지 않았습니까. 지금이 바로 그때 같습니다. 당신이 교수 되었으니 이제 선교사로 헌신하로 갑시다 했다고 한다. 이 이야기 들은 교수는 그 교수직을 관두고 선교지로 갔다고 한다. 사람들이 미쳤다고 이야기 했다고 한다. 그렇게 아이들을 다 데리고 멕시코로 간것이다. 선교 하는 가운데 자기 딸이 큰 교통사고에 당하게 된다. 그렇게 가보니 경찰이 거의 죽은것이라 통보 한것이다. 병원에도 가망이 없다 했다고 한다. 이대로 포기 할수 없어 부부 둘이 화장실에 들어가서 집중으로 기도 했다고 한다. 그 죽었던 딸이 살아나게 되었다고 한다. 그 딸은 죽다 살아난 경험을 가지고 앞으로 의사가 되겠다 결단 했다고 한다. 그 딸은 당시 의사를 꿈꿀만한 실력이 사실은 아니었다고 한다. 성적도 그렇게 되지 않는데 원서에 대신 은혜의 이야기 라는 죽었다 살아났던 내용의 에세이를 제출 했다고 한다. 그렇게 제출하고 결국에는 합격 했다고 한다. 그렇게 선교를 마치고 미국에 교수로 다시 복직 하게 된다. 다시 돌아와 아주 좋은 집을 싼 가격에 받게 되었다. 그런데 그 집이 있던 지역이 개발되어 집의 가치가 배로 오른것이다. 마침 무역센터에서 함께와서 일해달라 스카웃 당해 그 집을 팔게 되었다. 팔면서 엄청난 돈을 얻게 된 것이다. 그때 또 아내가 찾아오더니 우리 하나님앞에서 한번 따져봅시다 하더라. 불노소득은 하나님께 바쳐야 된다 스스로 말씀 하셨지 않나 하며 그 소득을 함께 다 바친다. 그 돈을 결국 중국에 선교센터 짓는데 사용되게 된다. 그 일이 있고 중국에서 편지를 받게 된다. 그 센터가 탈북자들을 위한 안식처가 되었다는 내용 이었다. 저는 그것을 보면서 이분을 하늘의 상급을 참 많이 받겠구나 생각했다. 막 9:41, “누구든지 너희가 그리스도에게 속한 자라 하여 물 한 그릇이라도 주면 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 그가 결코 상을 잃지 않으리라”. 저는 분명히 여러분들에게도 많은 상급이 예비 됨을 믿는다. 하늘을 쳐다보며 여러분들에게 예비 된 상급을 생각 해 보시라. 내게는 얼마나 많은 상급이 예비 되어있을까 생각 해 보시라. 이 소망 가지고 사셔야한다. 우리가 받을 축복 확실히 누려야겠다. 

3. 받아야할 축복 The blessings for you to receive

(1) 근원적인 힘 Fundamental power

고후 2 Corinthians 5:17

이 땅에 살면서 먼저 근원적 힘을 받아야겠다. 고후 5:17, “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나 갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다.” 여러분, 새출발 하는 믿음을 회복 하시기를 바란다. 하나님의 놀라운 능력이 회복되는 순간임을 믿는다. 

(2) 각인 바꾸는 힘 The power to change your imprints

빌 Philippians 3:20

두번째 잡을것, 각인 바꾸는 힘이다 – 빌3:20, “그러나 우리의 시민권은 하늘에 있는지라 거기로부터 구원하는 자 곧 주 예수 그리스도를 기다리노니” 각인은 보좌의 축복 누리며 기도 하는 중에 바뀐다. 이희돈 장로님이 누렸던 복음의 능력이 여러분 삶에 도 있기를 바란다. 

(3) 재창조의 힘 The power of re-creation

행 Acts 1:8

세번째로 재창조의 힘 누리시라, 행1:8 “오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅 끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라 하시니라.” 재창조는 바로 전도와 선교 회복 하는것이다. 이것은 영원을 회복하는 힘 이다. 하늘의 예비된 상급을 바라시라. 큰 응답 받으시기를 바란다. 지금까지 많은 응답 받으신줄 안다, 하늘을 향해 더 큰 상급 받으시기를 바란다. 

결론 Conclusion

빌 Philippians 4:1

마지막 결론이다, 빌4:1, “그러므로 나의 사랑하고 사모하는 형제들, 나의 기쁨이요 면류관인 사랑하는 자들아 이와 같이 주 안에 서라” 여러분들이 저의 기쁨이고 저의 면류관인줄 믿는다. 이것이 하나님께서 하시는 말씀 인줄 믿는다. 하나님께서 여러분에게 하시는 말씀이다. 우리가 잡을 것은 “주 안에서” 이다. 응답 받는 여러분 되시기를 주의 이름으로 축원한다.

1 So the Lord said to Moses: “See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. 2 You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall tell Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of his land. 3 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. 4 But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. 5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.” 6 Then Moses and Aaron did so; just as the Lord commanded them, so they did. 7 And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh. 

Introduction

Last week, our remnants had the Vacation Bible School (VBS) in Oklahoma and it was able to end well. During the day, I listened to the sermon and on YouTube, I saw some videos. I saw all of the floods that were happening all over the world. I was wondering what God’s plan was when looking at these videos. There are many unfortunate events happening right now. But while watching these videos, I thought that the angels that are with me right now, they are also seeing what I am seeing. Also, God sees and knows what is going on right now. Thinking about all of my footsteps and everything I am doing, God is constantly watching and with me. I don’t know about you but when you watch a video, do you think about how angels and God are always watching you? If you think about this while seeing things, then you should be thankful. I wonder what angels and God are thinking when they see these things? What is absolute is that, we may not see it with our visible eyes but God is always watching and with you. Last week, we received a very important message. Moses received God’s command and told God that his lips were incompetent. This means that his lips were uncircumcised lips. He was saying that he was incompetent. He was acknowledging his powerlessness to God. 

1. The Lord's Answer

(1) I have made you as God

What Moses felt when he confessed this, we can see in Exodus 6:12, 20 “And Moses spoke before the Lord, saying, ‘The children of Israel have not heeded me. How then shall Pharaoh heed me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?’ 20 Now Amram took for himself Jochebed, his father’s sister, as wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of the life of Amram were one hundred and thirty-seven.” - Even Moses felt shameful about his family line and family background. Moses kept confessing his family background was incompetent but God was pleased with Moses’ confessions and acknowledgements. 

Before God used Jeremiah, God received Jeremiah’s confession. Jeremiah 1:6 “Then said I: ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.’ ” - God was pleased with this confession and told Jeremiah not to worry because God was with him. 

What we must always remember is 1 Corinthians 1:27 “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.” - Hold onto the covenant. Who is God pleased with? Who will God use? Hold onto these things. We may be lacking and weak but that has nothing to do with God. God uses those who confess that they are lacking and powerless. 

When Moses confessed to God that he was powerless and incompetent, God gave him an answer in Verse 1 - I pray that you receive this blessing. The blessing that Moses received, may you receive the same blessing. 

(2) The testimony of the prophet

Verse 2 - This is an important message. Moses had to take the role as God’s servant. This was what God was telling Moses. Moses’ brother, Aaron, will be his prophet. In other words, Moses will be God’s servant and Aaron will take on the role as God’s prophet. A servant just needs to relay the words of his master. Moses had the role of a servant, where he just relays God’s words. A servant just takes the words of his master and relays it to the people. What the servants say to the people, it is not his own words but they are the words of the master. When is God’s power revealed? People’s power and wisdom does not matter. When God’s words are relayed, the power of God shows. A servant just needs to relay the words of God. It has nothing to do with the amount of power or intellect you have. I listened to a testimony of an elder and I was very moved. He is basically known as a president of having great economical power in this world. He was determined and went to Europe to learn more about finances, and his mother had a great walk of faith. Before he left for Europe, his mother gave him a letter. On the airplane, he opened the letter and there was no money inside but just a letter. When he read the letter, his mother told him that his Father God of your father will protect and guide you. So, he held onto this as his covenant and left for Europe. This started his journey in Europe. His dream was to go to Oxford University because it is known as one of the best universities in Europe. When he arrived in Oxford, before he entered, he walked around the campus and prayed for two days. He prayed to God and prayed that he needed to get admitted to Oxford. After two days, he finally went inside and met with the professor. When he was filling out paperwork, the secretary asked him what his purpose was for his visit to Oxford. And, the elder said that he wanted to attend this school so the secretary went inside to talk with the dean of the school and told him that he could not be admitted to Oxford. After he received this denial, he was not disappointed because he believed in the power of God. He continuously continued to walk around the campus just like the Israelites circled around the wall of Jericho for a couple of days. The secretary kept seeing this elder walking around the campus for numerous days. She felt sorry for him and asked him why he was walking around this campus. The elder told the secretary that he wanted to meet with the dean to know the reason why he was denied admission to Oxford so the secretary let him meet the dean. The dean told this elder that Oxford is a very expensive school and you need great credentials to enter this school. This student told the dean that he had great skills and credentials, and if he is lacking, he wants to learn from this school. When the dean heard this, the dean asked this student if he had money to study at this school. The student told the dean that he needs scholarships from this school. Eventually, this student was able to receive a scholarship and was able to study at Oxford. He relied on God and held onto God’s covenant, and he was able to experience God’s power. He studied very hard at Oxford and after he finished his studies, he went to America. It was a very hard journey to go from Europe to America so before he went to America, he wrote down 10 reasons why he needed to go to America to the immigration services. The last reason he wrote was, if you don’t let me in, then you will lose something great. The person who read his letter, the person asked the elder if America really needed him? The elder confidently replied saying yes. The person who heard his response was deeply moved. After his interview, he was approved to go to America. This elder was able to receive all of his answers through his prayers. It is very hard to live and study in America so he sold socks to make a living and to pay for his studies. A Korean business owner told him that the challenge of going to America is like trying to break a rock with an egg. But this elder had an assurance of faith that having faith is like breaking a rock with an egg. Eventually he received answers from God and became the president of the World Trade Center. 

Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” - This means that those who hold onto God’s word with faith, God will use those people. God will use these people as witnesses in the field. Even now, God is searching for these people. May you become witnesses of God like this. 

2. The Lord's Glory

(1) Signs and wonders

Verse 3 - What is important is that God will harden Pharaoh’s heart means that God will block Pharaoh’s ignorant heart. 

Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.” - An ignorant person, God will block His grace from them and make them fall into destruction. 

Verse 4 - Pharaoh’s ignorant heart was challenging God. No matter how many times God was trying to speak to Pharaoh, Pharaoh continued to reject and ignore God’s words. What did God end up doing? God showed His great powers and showed that He was alive to Pharaoh. 

Verse 5 - After Egypt faced God’s judgments through the 10 plagues, then Pharaoh will end up letting the Israelites go. This happened exactly as God’s word was proclaimed. The Egyptians would know that God is the Lord. There is no god or idol who can explain the words of God and fulfill exactly the words of God. God was proclaiming that He is the Lord God and His words will be fulfilled exactly as He says and said. The Lord God will fulfill exactly as He proclaimed He will. This means that He is showing that He is the Lord God and that He is alive. Our Lord God was there from the beginning and in the end. This Lord God continues to work in our lives and continues to show that He is alive even now. He continues to work and fulfill His words through our lives, family, church, and in our fields. This is because He is the Lord God. 

(2) The obedience of Moses and Aaron

Verses 6-7 - Aaron and Moses did exactly as God told them to do. The work of the Exodus occurred because they did exactly what God commanded them to do. Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 years old. Why is this recorded in this Bible? They were at an age where they couldn’t really do much but it was God who worked through them. Our remnants may confess that they are so weak and incompetent, and give up. But our remnants must not think like this at all. If God does it, then it is possible. God used Moses at the age of 80 and Aaron at the age of 83, which means God will make the impossible into possible. What makes God pleased? If you know this and hold onto this, then God will use you. I talked to you about the elder in the beginning of the message and he lived a life of faith, and I was so moved by his life and testimony. When he came to America and finished his studies, he became a professor. When you become a professor, you have a high ranking and a good spot in life. His wife came to speak to him and told him that God told you to serve Him as you continue to do your Bible studies. The best time to dedicate and serve God is right now as a professor. So his wife told him that they should go to Mexico and become missionaries right now in his life. The professor agreed to this and they went to Mexico as missionaries. People told them that they were crazy because he gave up his job as a professor. He took his entire family and went to Mexico. But in Mexico, his daughter got into a really bad car accident. But when the police were at the scene of the accident, the police told the professor that his daughter was going to die. So they took their daughter to the hospital but the doctor told them that there is no hope for his daughter and she will die. The professor and his wife went to the bathroom and started praying to God, and pleaded to God to save their daughter. By the miracle of God, the daughter did end up living and surviving. The daughter survived and resolved to become a doctor. But this daughter possessed no skills or knowledge set to become a doctor. Since she lacked skills, she couldn’t apply to medical school. The daughter wrote an essay to a medical school with the title, “The story of grace” about her near experience with death. When a professor read her essay, he was moved and accepted her to medical school. They went back to America and he continued his job as a professor. They bought a nice house when he returned back to America. This house was bought with a cheap price but the land and property value increased, and they were able to make a lot of money out of it. They sold the house when he got invited to work at the World Trade Center. When he sold the house, they made a lot of money. The wife told her husband, let us settle this with God. Let us give the earnings of the house to God. The professor agreed and decided to give the earnings to offerings to make a center in China. They received a letter from China and that center became a center where refugees could come from North Korea and receive the gospel. I realized that these individuals were going to receive a lot of crowns and glory from God in heaven. 

Mark 9:41 “For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.” - I believe that many rewards are prepared for you in heaven. When you look towards heaven, look towards the rewards that you will receive in heaven. Think about how many rewards you will receive in heaven. You need to live with this hope. 

3. The Blessings For You to Receive

(1) Fundamental power

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” - Restore the faith to start anew. Then, God’s power will come upon your life. 

(2) The power to change your imprints

Philippians 3:20 “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” - How do we change our imprints? Enjoy the power of the heavenly throne. Enjoy prayer. The same power of prayer that this elder received, may you also receive and enjoy the same answers of the power of prayer. 

(3) The power of re-creation

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” - What is recreation? It is restoring evangelism and mission. This is the eternal power. You will receive rewards in heaven. Receive great blessings. You have received great answers until now. You will receive great rewards in heaven. Look towards the rewards in heaven. 

Conclusion

Philippians 4:1 “Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.” - You are the beloved and longed for brethren. This is the word of God to you. God is telling you that you are beloved and longed for, and we are His joy and crown. What must we hold onto? In the Lord. Receive great answers.
