“일어나라 빛을 발하라"

1일어나라 빛을 발하라 이는 네 빛이 이르렀고 여호와의 영광이 네 위에 임하였음이니라 2보라 어두움이 땅을 덮을 것이며 캄캄함이 만민을 가리우려니와 오직 여호와께서 네 위에 임하실 것이며 그 영광이 네 위에 나타나리니 3열방은 네 빛으로, 열왕은 비취는 네 광명으로 나아오리라 (이사야 60:1-3)

서론

지난 금요일날 1부 예배를 다같이 들었다. 김동권 목사님에 대한 간증을 들으셨을것이다. 못 들은 분들을 위해 잠깐 소개 하겠다. 김동권 목사님네 교인이 현장을 가서 들은 이야기이다. 여자 다섯명이 무당을 찾아갔다고 한다. 그런데 그 무당이 이야기 하기를 당신 모두 곧 죽게 될 운명이다 라고 했다. 그 무당 말대로 얼마 지나지 않아 한명씩 죽어갔다고 한다. 그런데 그 중에 한명이 복음을 받게 되었고 유일하게 아직 살아있다고 했다. 여러분들은 이 이야기를 들으면 어떤 생각이 드시나. 실제로 그런 영적 현상이 있다고 믿고 계시나. 죽어야 될 사람이 복음 받고 지금 살게 된것이다. 또 류목사님이 이야기 하셨다. 부산에 안창마을에 무당촌이 있는데 거기에 한 무당이 복음을 받고 스스로 흑암에서 떠나게 되었을 뿐만 아니라 자식들도 복음 속으로 들어갔다. 그것을 보고 복음의 능력을 직접 체험했다 하셨다고 한다. 이것을 여러분들은 믿으시나. 복음을 체험 했던 류목사님, 김목사님은 그런 한번의 체험을 통해 복음의 능력을 믿고 그 능력을 소유 하고 있는 것이다. 여러분들은 어떠한가. 아마 여태까지 살아오시면서 복음의 능력이나 하나님이 살아계신 증거를 체험 한 적이 있으실 것이다. 그런데 왜 나에게는 어떤 문제 생길수록 실망만 더 커지고 넘어지기만 하는가 물을수 있다. 우리가 오늘 분명히 붙잡아야겠다. 우리가 살아오면서 하나님께서 당신이 함께 하시는 증거를 분명히 보이셨을것이다. 어떤 일이 내게 생긴다고 해도 하나님 께서는 나를 붙들고 계시고 그런 큰 역사도 반드시 일어날 것 이라는 확신을 가지는게 중요하다. 하나님께서 나에게 주신 놀라운 증거와 체험을 잊게 되면 능력을 간과 해 버리고 무슨 일이 생겨도 아무 상관 없이 지나가게 된다. 분명히 저와 여러분들 가운데 주님께서 살아계신다. 한번 우리에게 역사 하신 주님은 영원히 함께 하시고 지금도 살아계셔서 인도, 보호 하고 계신다. 이것을 놓치는 순간 다시 불신자와 같이 어려움을 당할수 밖에 없다는 사실이다. 

1. 일어나라 Arise

1) 회개하라 Repent

우리가 지금 본문에서 이스라엘 백성들의 상황을 볼수있다. 엄청난 기적을 체험 했던 사람들이다. 그런데 갑자기 모든 기적을 잊어버리고 하나님이 어디 계시나 우상을 찾아가 거기에 절 하고 있는 것이다. 하나님은 날 도와주실수 없어 도와주지 않으실꺼야 하며 인간적인 방법으로 돈을 벌고 복을 받으려고 하는 것이다. 그러니까 이스라엘 백성들이 다시 어려움에 빠질수 밖에 없게 된것이다. 오늘 1절 말씀에 아주 중요한 말씀 하고있다, “일어나라 빛을 발하라". 지금 하나님이 이스라엘의 어떤 상태를 보시며 하시는 말씀인가. 영적 타락과 영적 무기력 속에 있었다. 마치 에스겔 골짜기에 마른 뼈다귀가 늘어져 있듯이 이들의 상태가 이와 같다 말씀 하시는 것이다. 그런 그들을 향해 일어나라 하시는 말이다. “일어나라" 이 말의 뜻이 뭔가. 사 59:20의 말씀을 이야기 하는것이다. “여호와의 말씀 이나라 구속자가 시온에 임하며 야곱의 자손 가운데에서 죄과를 떠나는 자에게 임하리라" 이전 삶에서 돌이켜 이제는 회개 하는 삶을 살아라, 영적인 눈을 뜨고 바로 보아라 하는 말씀이다. 여기서 일어나라 라고 할때 쓰인 원어를 보면 “굼” 이라는 단어를 쓴다. 이 말은 마가복음 5:41-42 회당장의 딸이 죽었을때 굼 이라는 단어를 사용하셨다. 딸이 죽어 많은 사람이 울고 있었다. 예수님께서 그 죽은 아이의 손을 잡고 소녀야 다시 일어나 걸어라 달리다굼 하시니 그 죽은 소녀가 즉시 일어났다. 어떠한 상황에 있는 사람이어도 주님의 손을 붙잡으면 살아난다 이 말이다. 어떻게 살아나는지 막 5:36에 나와있다, “회당장에게 이르시되 두려워 말고 믿기만 하라” 하셨다. 주님께서 함께 하시면 즉시 치유가 될것이다, 살아나게 될것이다, 이러한 믿음이 중요한것이다. 어려운 문제 있으신가. 주님께서 함께 하시면 어떤 문제도 해결 된다는 이 확신과 믿음이면 된다. 주님께서 달리다굼 하시니 죽은 자가 일어났다. 그러면 우리는 어떻게 살아야 되는가 이 말이다. 행2:38, “베드로가 이르되 너희가 회개하여 각각 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 세례를 받고 죄 사함을 받으라 그리하면

성령의 선물을 받으리니”. 회개가 뭔가. 회개에 대해 말씀을 받았다. 믿는 사람이 회개 한다는 것은 그리스도의 피를 잡는것이다. 우리 죄의 문제는 그리스도의 피를 찾을때 해결 되는것이다. 내가 죄를 지었으니 다시 주님의 십자가를 봅니다 다시 주님께 맡기게 될때 해결된다. 이때 회당장의 딸 처럼 재창조의 역사가 일어나는것이다. 이 축복 받는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 

2) 여호와의 영광 The glory of the Lord

창 Genesis 1:3, 요일 1 John 1:5  

요 John 8:12    

그러면서 “이는 네 빛이 이르렀고 여호와의 영광이 네 위에 임하였음이니라" 라고 말씀 하셨다. 이 빛이 이르렀다 했는데 그 빛이 무엇인가? 하나님이 천지창조 하실때 창세기 1:3에 하나님이 빛이 있으라 하니 빛이 있었다 라고 한다. 창조의 사건을 우리가 생각해볼 필요가 있다. 하나님께서는 하늘을 만드시고 땅을 만드셨다. 그런데 우주의 많은 별들 가운데 하나님께서 지구를 향해 빛이 있으라고 말씀 하신것이다. 분명히 말씀 드리지만 이 빛은 네번째 날에 지으신 해와 달과 별이 아닌 다른 빛을 말한다. 이 빛은 창조의 빛, 참 생명의 빛, 영적인 빛이다. 창조의 빛을 하나님이 영광 가운데 우리에게 선포 하시고 축복 하신것이다. 우주 만물에 수많은 것들이 있지만 영적인 존재는  빛이 있으라 하신 지구 상에만 존재한다. 지구에 생명을 불어넣으신것이다. 지구를 보시라. 참 생명이 있는 가장 아름답고 푸른 별이다. 영적 존재 없는 영적인 축복을 받지 못한 다른 별들은 죽은 별들이다. 우주 에서 본 지구의 사진을 봐도 그러하다. 하나님의 영광의 빛이 이 지구상에 비친것이다. 저와 여러분들 당신의 자녀인 영적 존재 위해 허락 하신것이다. 오늘 말씀에 여호와의 영광이 네 위에 임하여 있다 했다. 영광이 벌써 지구상의 우리에게 임한것이다. 놀라운것이 요일 1:5 말씀 보면, 사도요한이 한 이야기가 나온다. “우리가 그에게서 듣고 너희에게 전하는 소식은 이것이니 곧 하나님은 빛이시라”. 예수님에게서 직접 들은 소식을 우리에게 직접 전한다는 말이다. 예수님께서 실제로 이땅에 임재 하셔서 영광의 빛을 나타내는 것을 말한다. 그리고 그것이 바로 하나님의 빛 이라고 했다. 하나님의 빛은 듣고 너희에게 전하는 소식 이라고 했다. 주님의 말씀, 주님의 복음, 이 생명이 빛 이라고 하는것이다. 요 8:12 말씀 보면, “예수께서 또 말씀하여 이르시되 나는 세상의 빛이니 나를 따르는 자는 어둠에 다니지 아니하고 생명의 빛을 얻으리라” 하셨다. 참 놀랍다, 하나님의 말씀을 붙잡는 자는 생명의 빛을 얻는다 라는 말이다. 하나님의 영광의 빛을 얻는다는 말이다. 생명의 빛을 얻는다는 것은 임마누엘의 축복을 얻는다 이 말이다. 말씀을 붙잡는 자는 창조의 빛을 받는것을 말한다. 어마어마한 창조의 능력이 임할것 이라는 말이다. 이시간에 꼭 붙잡으시라. 나에게 임하는 이 빛은 어마어마한 능력의 빛이다. 간증이나 말씀 듣고 그냥 지나치는게 아니라 말씀을 듣고 나의 것으로 받아들이는 순간에 역사가 일어나는것이다. 

2. 빛을 발하라 Shine

1) 온 땅에 어두움 The darkness shall cover the earth

사 Isaiah 60:2, 학 Haggai 2:9, 요 John 1:9-10, 12  

말 Malachi 4:2, 요 John 1:13

2절, “보라 어둠이 땅을 덮을 것이며 캄캄함이 만민을 가리려니와 오직 여호와께서 너희에게 임하실것이며 그 영광이 네 위에 나타나리라”. 본문을 보면 이 말은 이스라엘에게 하시는 말씀인것을 알수가 있다. 그런데 앞으로 어두움이 덮힐것 이라고 했다. 이스라엘 백성들이 70년동안 노예 생활 하며 많은 어려움을 겪었다. 그러다 하나님의 은혜로 돌아오게 되었다. 이스라엘 백성들은 돌아오면서 하나님의 소원인 성전을 빨리 지어야겠다 했다. 성전을 지어야 하나님께 예배를 드리고 하나님과 만날수 있기 때문이다. 그런데 돌아온 사람은 5만 5천명 정도 밖에 되지 않았다. 돌아와서 먹고 살것에 집중 하고 농사짓고 하니 성전을 짓기 힘들어진것이다. 그렇게 되면서 많은 어려움을 겪게 된다. 학개라는 선지자가 이때 이들에게 메시지를 전한다, 학개서2:9, “이 성전의 나중 영광이 이전 영광보다 크리라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라 내가 이 곳에 평강을 주리라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라". 이전에 찬란한 금과 은으로 만든 솔로몬의 성전보다 더 찬란한 영광이 여기서 나타날 것이다 하는 말이다. 그렇게 어려운 가운데 성전을 완성은 했는데 또 이사람들이 그리스도를 놓친것이다. 그리스도를 붙잡지 못하고 율법을 붙잡은것이다. 율법 이라는 것은 하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑하는 것이 율법이다. 그런데 이 사람들은 하나님이 주신 말씀에 장난을 쳐서 613개의 조항으로 만들어 버렸다. 하나님 사랑 이웃사랑은 내던지고 이 법을 지키느냐 마냐에만 몰두 한것이다. 완전히 그리스도를 놓치게 되았다. 이 전보다 더 깊은 흑암 속으로 들어갔다. 그런데 오늘 일어나라 빛을 발하라 하며 말씀 하고 계신다. 저는 이걸 보면서 창세기 1:2 말씀이 생각 났다. “땅이 혼돈하고 공허하며 흑암이 깊음 위에 있고 하나님의 영은 수면 위에 운행하시니라” 하는 말씀이다. 이 땅이 흑암과 혼곤 공허 가운데 있다 해도 하나님의 성령은 일하시는구나 말씀 잡았다. 이스라엘이 전적인 타락해서 다른길 가고 있는데도 일어나 빛을 발하라 말씀 하시는것이다. 하나님께서 항상 죄악 가운데 있는 사람들도 보고 있는것을 알수가 있다. 그러면서 그들을 향해서 여호와의 영광이 네 위에 임할것이며 라고 했다. 영광이 나타날것이라 반복적으로 말씀 하신다. 메시아가 반드시 너희를 살리러 오실것이다 라는 것을 암시 하는것이다. 예수님께서 실제로 오셨다. 요한복음 1:9-10 말씀, “참 빛 곧 세상에 와서 각 사람에게 비추는 빛이 있었나니 그가 세상에 계셨으며 세상은 그로 말미암아 지은바 되었으되 세상이 그를 알지 못하니”. 참 생명의 빛이 실질적으로 이 땅에 오셨다 라는 말이다. 사람들에게 소망을 주고 살리시려 이 땅에 육신을 입고 오셨는데 사람들이 빛 인지 모르는것이다. 놀라운 사건이다. 완전히 타락해서 흑암의 깊은 구렁텅이에 빠지니 영적인 눈이 감겨 보지를 못하는 것이다. 말씀을 전해도 듣지 못하는것이다. 요한복음 1:12, “영접 하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니". 빛으로 오신 주님이 그들에게 임하는 것이다. 생명의 빛, 창조의 빛이 그들에게 임하는것이다. 하나님의 영광이 임하게 되는것이다. 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주신것이다. 믿는 자 에게는 흑암, 혼돈, 공허를 이기는 힘을 주셨다. 만왕의 왕의 권세가 내 안에 나타나는 것이다. 말라기 4:2, “내 이름을 경외하는 너희에게는 공의로은 해가 떠올라서 치료하는 광선을 비추리니 너희가 나가서 외양간에서 나온 송아지 같이 뛰리라". 어떠한 흑암, 문제, 질병도 치유 될줄을 믿는다. 하나님의 창조의 빛이 임하게 되면 죽음에서도 살아나는 역사가 임하는 것이다. 이게 누구에게 나타났는가, 요한복음 1:13, “이는 혈통으로나 육정으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로부터 난 자들이니라". 오직 은혜로만 난것이다. 말씀이 믿어지는게 은혜이다. 믿는 자에게 은혜가 임하는데, 정말 믿게 되면 기적이 일어난다는 말이다. 우리가 구원 받은 것 자체가 기적이다. 죽었던 우리가 살아난것이다. 죽었던 나도 살아났는데 믿지 못할 것이 무엇이 있나. 

2) 빛으로 나아오리라 They shall come to your light

사 Isaiah 60:3, 56:10    

엡 Ephesians 5:8, 마 Matthew 5:16  

3절, “나라들은 네 빛으로 왕들은 비치는 네 광명으로 나아오리라" 재창조 역사 반드시 있을줄 믿는다. 여러분 통해 놀라운 역사 있을줄 믿는다. 당시 이스라엘 백성들 영적 상태를 보고 하시는 말씀이다. 그때 당시 영적상태가 56:10에 나와있다. “이스라엘의 파수꾼들은 맹인이요 다 무지하며 벙어리 개들이라 짖지 못하며 다 꿈꾸는 자들이요 누워있는 자들이요 잠자기를 좋아하는 자들이니”. 말세때 신자들의 모습도 이러할 것 이라는 말씀이다. 교회 다닌다 하면서 사실상 죽어있는 상태가 아니냐 이 말이다. 에베소서 5:8, “너희가 전에는 어둠이더니 이제는 주 안에서 빛이라 빛의 자녀들처럼 행하라" 이전에 내가 잘못 살았단것 실수 했던것 다 괜찮다. 이제는 주 안에서 빛이기 때문에. 그러니 이제부터 빛의 자녀들 처럼 행하는 것이다. 마태복음 5:6, “이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라". 여러분의 빛을 사람들에게 비추시기를 바란다. 너의 착한 행실을 보이라 했다. 착한 행실은 다른게 아니라 말씀을 믿는 삶을 사는것이다. 오직 그리스도 붙잡는 것이 착한 행실이다. 하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 우리 몸처럼 사랑하는 것이다. 이것을 통해 하나님이 영광 받으리라 하셨다. 이러한 축복 받으시기를 바란다. 어떠한 것도 문제될 것 없다. 하나님께 영광 돌리는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 

3. 과거, 현재, 미래를 살리는 응답 Answers that save the past, the present, and the future

1) 과거의 뿌리를 해결하라 Solve the root of the past

창 Genesis 3:15, 요 John 19:30

그렇다면 우리의 과거 현재 미래 살릴 응답을 잡아야겠다. 먼저 과거에 뿌리 문제 해결 하시라. 분명히 창세기 3:15의 언약 다시 잡으시라, “여자의 후손이 네 머리를 상하게 할 것이요" 이 말씀은 성경 전체의 언약의 핵심이다. 여자의 후손이 와서 반드시 흑암 세력 꺾을것이다 하였고 그 분이 실제로 오셔서 요한복음 19:30 장에 십자가에 돌아가시며 “다 이루었다” 하셨다. 이 말에는 우리의 과거도 다 끝난것이다. 이 언약 꼭 잡으시라. 

2) 오늘의 문제를 해결하라 Solve the root of the present

롬 Romans 16:20, 얍 James 4:7  

두번째, 오늘의 문제를 해결하라 하셨다. 로마서 16:20, “평강의 하나님이 속희 사탄을 너희 발 아래에서 상하게 하시리라.” 이것은 하나님의 약속이다. 우리가 언약 잡는 순간 영광의 빛이 임하게 되어있다. 흑암은 물러갈수 밖에 없는것이다. 사단을 너희 발 아래 상하게 할것 이라 하시는 것이다. 주님의 영광의 빛을 받는 순간 흑암이 물러가는 것이다. 야고보서 4:7, “너희는 하나님께 복종할지어다 마귀를 대적하라 그리하면 너희를 피하리라". 두려워 하지 마시라. 걱정 하지 마시라. 그저 믿으시라. 그러면 해결 될것이다. 

3) 미래의 문제를 해결하라 Solve the root of the future

행 Acts 17:2, 19:21

마지막, 미래 문제 해결이다, 행17:2, “바울이 자기의 관례대로 그들에게로 들어가서 세 안식일에 성경을 가지고 강론하며". 미래 문제 해결 할 방법은 말씀에 있다는 것을 붙잡으시라. 바울은 회당이든 어디 갈때마다 관례대로 항상 성령을 가지고 강론 했다고 했다. 말씀만이 힘이다. 말씀만이 능력된다. 여기서 참된 능력이 나타난다. 그래서 사도바울은 말씀을 강론했다. 여기에서 모든 역사가 일어났다. 이 사실 붙잡으시라. 행 19:21, “내가 거기 갔다가 후에 로마도 보아야 하리라 하고" 사도바울은 엄청난 에베소 역사를 일으키고 사명을 다잡았다. 복음 가진 자가 붙잡아야 할 사명이 바로 이것인줄 믿는다. 주님이 나를 부르실 때 까지 사명 붙잡고 가는 것이다. 하나님의 소망, 원하시는 계획 따라 나아가는것이다. 

결론 Conclusion

행 Acts 23:11

말씀 맺겠다. 행 23:11, “그날 밤에 주께서 바울 곁에 서서 이르시되 담대하라 네가 예루살렘에서 나의 일을 증언한것 같이 로마에서도 증언하여야 하리라.” 이 상황이 언제인가. 사도바울이 예수살렘에서 복음 증거 하는것 보고 바리새인들이 화가 났다. 그래서 40명이 사도바울을 죽이지 아니하면 밥도 먹지 않겠다 하고 특공대 처럼 나온것이다. 그 전에 그 사실을 알시고 주님께서 하시는 말씀이다. 네가 결코 죽지 않을것이고 예루살렘에서도 증거 해야 될 것이다 라고 말씀 하시는것이다. 내가 하나님의 언약을 잡고 있는 한 절대로 우리의 생명 가져갈 자가 없다. 그 사명 위해 하나님께서 우리를 절대 끝나게 하지 않을것이라는 말이다. 제가 어떤 목사님 한테 이야기를 들었다. 나이가 들어서 모든것 다 내려놓고 쉬려고 한다 했다. 그래서 제가 돌아가시려고 그러냐 했다. 하나님의 사명을 놓으면 그 날이 하나님이 데려가시는 날이다. 이분이 그 이야기 듣더니 다시 일 해야겠다 하셨다 웃으셨다. 은퇴좀 하고 쉬어야겠다, 그게 바로 주님께서 데려가시느 날 이다. 하나님께서 주신 사명을 죽을 때 까지 감당하시는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 

Arise, Shine (Isaiah 60:1-3)

“1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.”

Introduction

Last Friday, we listened to the headquarters (HQ) message 1st service and we listened to a testimony of a pastor. A member of a pastor went into the field and met someone. Five people met a shaman and that shaman told the five people that they all will possess the destiny of death. But just as the shaman said, all five people started dying but only one person survived. That person survived because they heard the gospel. What do you think about this when you hear these kinds of stories? Do you truly believe in the spiritual world? The fact is that someone who was supposed to die, they lived because of the gospel. There was another story, Rev. Kwang-Su Ryu met a shaman and that shaman received the gospel, and came out of darkness. Not only was the shaman able to come out of darkness, her entire family was able to come out of darkness. They were able to experience the power of the gospel. Do you believe in this? Rev. Ryu and other pastors who were able to experience the power, were able to experience and see that the gospel has true power. They were not able to forget these experiences. What do you think about this? Were you able to experience the power of the gospel in your life? Were you able to experience the power of God? But you may ask, when problems come, you may fall and fall into discouragement. There is something that we must hold onto here. When we live our lives, God who is with us, will show us evidence that He is alive. If that is so, no matter what happens to us, God is with us and will show us greater evidence. We must hold onto this. If we forget the evidence that God is with us, then we will lose hold of God’s power. What is absolute is that you and I, the living God is with us. This God is with us and working within us, we must believe in this. The moment we lose hold of this, then we will face the difficulties that non-believers will face. We are continuing to look at the state of the Israelites. The Israelites experienced great evidence and works of God but they forgot all of that. They forgot and sought after idols. They thought that God was not going to help them so they sought after worldly measures and idols. That is why the Israelites had no choice but to fall into difficulties as a result. 

1. Arise

1) Repent

Verse 1 - Why did God tell the Israelites to arise and shine? In what state were they in? They were in a state of absolute powerlessness and fallen into corruption. Just like how God told the dead bones to come back to life in the book of Ezekiel, God was saying the same thing to the Israelites. What does it mean to arise? 

It is talking about Isaiah 59:20 “ ‘The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,’ Says the Lord.” - What this means is that God is telling us to live a life of repentance. Open your spiritual eyes and come to your senses. Telling us to arise has a meaning of, “Cumi.” 

This meaning is seen in Mark 5:41-42, 5:36 “As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, ‘Do not be afraid; only believe.’ 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, ‘Talitha, cumi,’ which is translated, ‘Little girl, I say to you, arise.’ 42 Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement.” - This was when Jesus resurrected a dead girl. Many people were weeping after seeing a dead girl so Jesus held her hand and told her to rise, “Cumi.” This dead girl arose and came back to life. How did this dead girl come back to life? 

Jesus says in Mark 5:41-42 - This is the problem. If Jesus says it, then life will come and they will be able to resurrect. Do you have a problem? If God is with you then you need to have assurance that God can solve it. When Jesus said, “Cumi”, the dead girl came back to life. Then, in order for us to live, what must we do?

Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’ ” - What is repentance? We have received many messages regarding repentance. When a person who has received salvation repents, you are holding onto the blood of Jesus Christ. You are following after the blood of Christ when you look towards your sin. When you realize your sin and seek after the blood of Christ, then you can be forgiven. When you do this, then the work of recreation will come upon you. May you receive this blessing. 

2) The glory of the Lord

When God created the world in Genesis 1:3 “Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.” - This was God’s command. When we look at the records of creation of this world and everything, God created the heavens and the Earth. There are many stars and universes out there but God commanded for there to be light on Earth. What is absolute is that this light was different from the light that comes from the moon and the stars. This light was spiritual light, light of creation, and light of life. God blessed mankind through this light. The glory of life and light was shone when God commanded for this light to come upon this Earth. Only this light is on this Earth. This light brought life onto this Earth. When you look at this Earth, it is the most beautiful and prosperous. When you look at other stars and planets, there is no light like what you see on Earth. This shows the glory of light and the glory of God that is shining on Earth. Why is that? God allowed this for us, for His children. The main Scripture tells us that the glory of the Lord is upon us. The glory of God is shining upon us. 

1 John 1:5 “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” - This was what John the Baptist said. This was what Jesus said. Jesus came to this Earth and shone His light upon this world. The light of God was shining through Jesus. The gospel, life, and word of God is all light of God. 

John 8:12 “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’ ” - This is astounding. Those who hold onto the word of light, you have the light of life. We are holding onto the glory of God. We are able to enjoy the blessing of Immanuel. We are receiving the light of life. The power of creation is upon us. Hold onto this no matter what. The light that we possess is tremendous. Don’t just listen to this but hold onto as truth. Then, it will become yours. 

2. Shine

1) The darkness shall cover the earth

Verse 2 - The Israelites were held as captives but through God’s grace, they were able to return back to Jerusalem. When they returned back to their homeland, God had the desire to build His temple. If they rebuild the temple then the Israelites can give worship to God once again. But the people who returned back to Jerusalem were only 55,000 Israelites. When they returned back to their homeland, they were busy building their own lives and forgot about rebuilding God’s temple. 

Haggai 2:9 “ ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.” - They were able to eventually rebuild the temple but they lost hold of Christ. They held onto the law of legalism instead of holding onto God’s covenant. The law was made to love God and God’s word but they used God’s law to become legalism. They were only focused on if they were able to hold onto and keep the law or not. They lost hold of Christ entirely. They entered deeper into darkness. But God gave us the message to arise and shine. 

Genesis 1:2 “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” - The world may be darkness and void but the Spirit of God is still present. Even though the Israelites were going towards darkness, God commanded them to arise and shine. We can see that God continues to watch over those who are going towards darkness and are wondering. In the midst of that, God commanded that His glory will manifest through all of this. This means that the Messiah will absolutely come. Jesus did come. 

John 1:9-10, 12 “That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” - The true light of light. This true light came into this world. Jesus came as the true light to give life and hope to mankind. He came in human flesh and people could not recognize the light of life. Mankind was in the midst of darkness and corruption, and mankind’s eyes had gone dim. They couldn’t recognize the light of life. They couldn’t hear the word of God as well. 

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” - Those who believe, they received the authority and right to become children of God. The light of God will come upon those who believe. The light of creation will come upon you. The glory of God will come upon you. We received the authority to overcome darkness and the power of Satan. The power of Christ will come upon you. 

Malachi 4:2 “But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.” - When you believe in Jesus Christ, the works of healing will take place upon us. Believe in this word. No problem or darkness can come upon you. The power of light to bring you back to life has come upon you. Who has received all of this? 

John 1:13 “Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” - In other words, we were able to receive all of this through God’s grace. What is God’s grace? Being able to understand and believe in the word of God. Those who believe, God’s grace will come upon you and miracles will arise. Being able to receive salvation itself is a miracle. We were supposed to be dead but we lived. 

2) They shall come to your light

Verse 3 - Hold onto this. The works of recreation will absolutely come upon you. Great works will take place in your life. Today’s main scriptures showed the state of Israelites. 

Isaiah 56:10 “His watchmen are blind, They are all ignorant; They are all dumb dogs, They cannot bark; Sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.” - This showed the state of the Israelites. In other words, this shows what will happen during the end times. I don’t know if you feel like you are living your life like this. As you live your walk of life, do you feel like you are dead or alive? You need to find strength. 

Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” - This means that whatever we did in the past, move on. Whatever mistakes you made in the past, move on. May the light of Christ come upon you. From now on, live as children of light. If you hold onto this, then you can live as a new creation. 

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” - May you shine the light of life towards other people. What will people see? They will see the good works. What does it mean by good works? The life within God’s Word and only Christ. Love God and love your neighbors. This is good work. Glorify God by your good works. This light is within us. May you shine the light of God. 

3. Answers That Save the Past, the Present, and the Future

1) Solve the root of the past

What is absolute is that we must hold onto Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel. ” - This covenant shows the entire flow of the Bible. This is the core content of the Bible. The offspring of the woman will crush the head of the serpent. This offspring of the woman actually came. 

John 19:30 “So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, 'It is finished!' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” - The moment you believe that Jesus finished everything, then all of your problems are done. All of your past is finished. Hold onto this covenant. 

2) Solve the root of the present

Romans 16:20 “And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” - This is God’s promise. When you hold onto God’s promise, then God’s glory will shine upon us. Darkness has no choice but to flee. Just as God said, Satan has no choice but to kneel before our feet. 

James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” - Do not be afraid. Don’t worry. Just believe. God will solve your problems. 

3) Solve the root of the future

Acts 17:2 “Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures.” - The method to solve the problem of your future is to hold onto God’s word. Whenever Paul entered the synagogue or wherever he went, he always emphasized the Scriptures. This is because there is power of God and creation within God’s word. This was how miracles and works arose. 

Acts 19:21 “When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, 'After I have been there, I must also see Rome.' ” - After Paul performed great works in Ephesus, he held onto his mission. We who have the gospel, we have a mission. Until Jesus calls you, we must hold onto the mission that God has given to us. We need to hold onto God’s plan and go out into the field. 

Conclusion

Acts 23:11 “But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, ‘Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.’ ” - This was when the Pharisees saw Paul sharing the gospel, they became furious. So 40 of them decided to stake their lives to kill Paul. God who knew this, God gave assurance to Paul that he will not die because Paul needed to go to share the gospel in Rome. As long as we are holding onto God’s covenant, our lives cannot end or God can take away our lives. I heard something from a pastor once. A pastor told me to rest and lay everything down. I told the pastor, “The day I end my ministry will be the day that God takes away my life.” The day that God takes my life will be the day I retire. May we fulfill God’s mission until the end of our lives.
