“간음하지 말라” (출 20:14)

서론 Introduction

고전 1 Corinthians 10:12

뉴스를 보니 한국에 있는 순복음교회 이용훈 목사님이 어려움을 당하고 있다는 것을 들었다. 여자 성도와 간음 사건이 생겨서 재판 중에 있다고 했다. 이분은 ‘그런 일이 없다’ 하면서 명예훼손으로 맞고소해서 지금 싸우고 있다. 이 분은 제가 알기로 훌륭한 인격을 가지신 분이다. 어떤 결과가 나올지 모르겠지만 그분을 향한 기도가 나온다. 얼마 전에는 또 순복음교회 조용기 목사님도 큰 어려움을 당했다. 많은 인격적으로 훌륭한 분들이 실수를 해서 어려움을 당하는 경우를 가끔 본다. 그런 현상을 볼 때 우리는 어떻게 해야 하는 것일까? 많은 사람들이 비난하고 지적한다. 그런데 사실은 우리가 그런 생각을 바꾸어야 한다. 예수님께서 말씀하시기를, 마음에 음욕을 품는 모두가 간음한 자이다 하셨다. 그렇게 따지면 이 세상에 과연 누가 간음하지 않은 적이 있을까 싶다. 겉으로는 깨끗한 것 같지만 사실 속으로는 더러운 간음을 행하는 자들이 많은 것이다. 지금까지 깨끗하게 살아왔다고 하더라도 고린도전서 10:12 말씀을 주목해야 한다. “그런즉 선 줄로 생각하는 자는 넘어질까 조심하라. 그럴수록 하나님의 말씀을 붙잡고 정말로 기도하는 삶을 살아야겠다. 오늘 말씀은 아주 중요한 말씀이다. 하나님께서 오늘을 위해서 창세전에 예비 해 놓으신 생명의 말씀인 줄을 믿는다. 우리 렘넌트들이나 중직자들, 또 듣는 모든 사람들이 말씀을 깊이 묵상하시며 하나님의 뜻과 계획을 발견할 수 있는 귀한 시간 되시기를 바란다. 하나님께서 가정을 만드실 때 그 모습을 우리가 한 번 점검해 보아야겠다. 

1. 하나님의 계획 God’s Plan

(1) 하나님의 선물 God’s Gift

출 Exodus 20:14, 창 Genesis 2:18-23

창세기 1:27-28 말씀을 보면, 하나님이 자기 형상, 곧 하나님의 형상으로 남자와 여자를 창조하셨다고 나와 있다. 그리고 그들에게 생육하고 번성하는 축복, 땅에 충만하고 번성하며 모든 짐승들을 다스리는 축복을 주셨다. 포인트가 뭐냐하면, 인간에게만 하나님의 형상을 주셨다는 사실이다. 그것을 주신 과정이 창세기 2:7에 기록되어 있다, “여호와 하나님이 땅의 흙으로 사람을 지으시고 생기를 그 코에 불어넣으시니 사람이 생령이 되니라.” 여기서 “생령” 이라는 단어의 원어로 “네페시 하야” 가 사용되었다. 이는 숨 쉬는 짐승, 동물, 존재라는 의미를 가지고 있다. 우리가 숨을 쉬는 존재인데 우리 안에 생기가 들어 있다는 말이다. 창 2:18에 보면 아담을 만드시고 하나님께서, “여호와 하나님이 이르시되 사람이 혼자 사는 것이 좋지 아니하니 내가 그를 위하여 돕는 배필을 지으리라 하시니라” 라고 하신다. “돕는 배필” (suitable helper)을 말씀하시고 19절에 “흙으로 각종 들짐승과 공중의 각종 새를 지으시고 아담이 무엇이라고 부르나 보시려고 그것들을 그에게로 이끌어 가시니” 라는 내용이 나온다. 그러니까, 하나님께서는 배필을 지으리라 라고 하시고 흙으로 다시 동물과 짐승, 새들을 지으시고 아담이 과연 이 짐승들을 배필이라 부를까 아닐까 하시며 그것들을 그에게로 이끌어 가신 것이다. 각 생물을 데리고 가셨는데 그 생물의 원어로 네페시 하야가 또 사용되었다. 그러니까, 아담에게 생기를 넣어서 생령이 있게 하셨는데, “생령” 에 사용된 단어와 “생물” 에 동일하게 네페시 하야가 사용된 것이다. 그러니까, 돕는 배필이 혹시 있을까? 하고 같은 생물, 숨 쉬는 존재를 만들어서 아담에게 데려가신 것이다. 그렇게 아담이 짐승들의 이름을 짓는데, 그중 아무것도 배필(Helper)이라 부르지 않는다. 20절 마지막 부분을 보면, “아담이 돕는 배필이 없으므로”라고 쓰여 있다. 다시 말해, 귀여운 강아지나 소, 여러 동물들을 많이 데려오셨음에도 불구하고 아담은 그중에서 배필을 찾지 못했다는 말이다. 그래서 하나님께서는 다시 21절 말씀에 쓰여 있듯이 아담을 잠에 들게 하시고 그의 갈빗대 하나를 취해 여자를 만드신다. 하와를 만드시고 난 다음에 아담에게 데려가시니 아담이 그녀를 보고, “아, 나의 뼈 중의 뼈요, 살 중의 살이라” 한다. 하나님은 하와를 아담의 심장을 보호하는 갈빗대로 만드셨다. 그러니까 말 그대로 살 중의 살, 뼈 중의 뼈, 바로 내 자신 이라고 한 것이다. 이 말은 곧 내 생명의 보호자, 배필, 바로 내 몸 자체로구나 하는 고백이다. 그리고 이어서 23절에 “이것을 남자에게서 취하였은즉 여자라 부르리라 하니라” 한다. 여기서 남자라는 단어의 원어로 “잇쉬” 가 사용되었다. 

거기서 나왔다고 해서 “잇쉬” 에서 “잇샤”로 바꿔서 여자를 부르게 된다. 하나님의 형상 가진 아담의 몸 자체가 여자 인 것을 나타낸다. 여자도 형상을 가진 아담, 한몸이기 때문에 여자에게도 하나님의 형상이 있는 것으로 이미 한다. 그래서 하나님의 형상을 가진 남자와 여자가 나타나게 된 것이다. 하나님은 이 둘을 에덴동산에 살게 하셨다. 그리고 하나님은 이들에게 세 가지 큰 선물을 주신다. 에덴동산에서 부부가 누릴 수 있는 최고의 행복과 느낌을 누릴 수 있는 축복을 이 부부에게 허락하셨다. 함께 먹고 마실수 있는 양식을 주시고 풍성함을 누리는 축복을 주셨다. 또 모든 생물을 다스릴 권세도 주셨다. 하나님의 형상을 가진 아담과 하와가 가장 좋고 아름다운 에덴 동산에서 마음껏 즐기며 누릴 수 있는 최고의 선물을 주신 것이다. 

(2) 사탄의 방해전략 Satan’s Strategy of Destruction

창 Genesis 3:12

그런데 한가지 문제가 생긴다. 창세기 3장에서 사탄이 이 가정을 공격한다. 왜 그런가? 하나님의 모든 계획을 이루어 나가시는 시작점이 바로 가정이기 때문이다. 번성하고 충만하고 다스리는 모든 것의 출발이 바로 가정인 것을 사탄도 알고 있는 것이다. 그래서 유혹을 통해 근본적인 하나님의 말씀에 불순종하게 해 말씀에서 끊어 낸 것이다. 이로인해 하나님의 형상이 떠나게 된다. 당장 이런 사건이 생기니 창세기 3:12 사건이 나타난다. “아담이 이르되 하나님이 주셔서 나와 함께 있게 하신 여자 그가 그 나무 열매를 내게 주므로 내가 먹었나이다”. 그렇게 기뻐하고 즐거워했던 하와를 보고 이제는 지적을 하고 불평을 하면서 하나님을 도전하게 된다. 하나님이 주신 최고의 선물이 하와였고 가정이었는데 이제는 모든 핑계를 그것으로 돌리는 것이다. 다시말해 하나님께서 아담과 하와에게 주신 놀라운 선물에 변화가 생기게 된 것이다. 사탄은 하나님께서 주신 놀라운 축복과 선물을 자기의 도구로 사용한 것이다. 그렇게 창세기 3, 6, 11장 사건들을 일으킨다. 모든 문제가 바로 여기서 시작된 것을 우리가 볼 수 있다. 하나님의 형상을 잃어버린 인간은 거의 짐승 수준으로 전락한다. 지금 우리 젊은 사람들이 알고 있는 포스트모더니즘, 진화론, 이러한 것들도 다 여기서 시작된 것을 알 수가 있다. 여러분이 잘 아시다시피 케네디 대통령이 미국 교회서에 최초로 진화론에 대한 내용을 넣었다. 그 이후에 세상 사람들의 모든 가치관에 변화가 생겼다. 하나님의 형상을 가진 자가 더 이상 아니라 믿는 것이다. 그렇게 그 사람들은 주장한다, 너희들은 아메바의 후손이다, 원숭이의 자손이다. 개나 소가 네 사촌이다. 따져 보면 너희들은 짐승과 크게 다를 게 없다는 주장이다. 많은 사람들이 짐승처럼 살고 있다. 그걸보고 지식인들이 사탄의 앞잡이가 되어 소리를 질러댄다, 우리의 조상인 원숭이, 우리의 사촌 개나 원숭이를 봐라, 무슨 정조가 필요하냐 하는 말이다. 짐승들을 봐라. 얼마나 자유롭냐? 너희도 짐승들처럼 자유롭게 살아라. 세상은 가르친다. 사탄은 이런식으로 우리에게 계속 거짓말을 한다. 반면 하나님께서는 이렇게 말씀 하신다, 너희는 개도 아니고 원숭이도 아니다, 너희들은 나의 자녀이다, 너희의 정체성을 찾아라. 이것이 제 7계명을 통해 우리에게 주신 하나님의 음성이다. 그렇다고 했을때 이 일곱번째 계명이 얼마나 중요한지 모른다. 여기에 더 깊은 성경적 의미를 보아야겠다. 

(1) 성경적 의미 Biblical Meaning

창 Genesis 2:24,

고전 1 Corinthians 6:18, 15-17, 19

“이러므로 남자가 부모를 떠나 그의 아내와 합하여 둘이 한 몸을 이룰지로다” 라고 하나님께서 말씀 하셨다.  여기에는 제7계명에 대한 아주 깊은 의미가 담겨있다. 고전 6:18, “음행을 피하라 사람이 범하는 죄마다 몸 밖에 있거니와 음행하는 자는 자기 몸에 죄를 범하느니라”. 일반 죄는 사람을 죽인다든지, 거짓말 한다든지 내 몸 밖에서 죄를 범한다. 그런데 음행은, 자기 몸에 죄를 짓는 것 이라는 부분에서 더욱 중대하다. 고전 6:15, “너희 몸이 그리스도의 지체인 줄을 알지 못하느냐”. 우리가 예수님 영접할때 영혼의 변화가 일어난다. 우리 영혼이 변화할때 몸 도 거룩한 백성으로 거듭나는 것을 나타난다. 그런데 음행을 하게 되면 그 거룩한 몸이 더러워진다는 말이다. 고전 6:16, “창녀와 합하는 자는 그와 한 몸인 줄을 알지 못하느냐 일렀으되 둘이 한 육체가 된다 하셨나니”. 내가 창녀와 음행을 하게 되면, 창녀와 한 몸이 된다는 말이다. 내 영이 창녀의 몸과 하나가 된다는 말은 내가 멸망의 대상이 된다 하는 이야기다. 그래서 고전 6:19 말씀 보면, “너희 몸은 너희가 하나님께로부터 받은 바 너희 가운데 계신 성령의 전인 줄을 알지 못하느냐 너희는 너희 자신의 것이 아니라” 라고 한다. 너는 하나님의 거룩한 성전됨을 잊지 말고 그 전을 쓰레기터로 만들지 말라 하는 말씀이다. 이 제7계명은 하나님께서 안타까운 마음으로 주신 귀한 말씀임을 알아야겠다. 이만큼 가정이 얼마나 중요한지 알수가 있다. 

2. 7 계명의 의미 The Meaning of the Seventh Commandment

(2) 가정보호법 Law for Protecting the Family

출 Exodus 6:7,

엡 Ephesians 5:31-32, 26-27, 마 Matthew 5:29

우리가 계속해서 계명에대해 배우고 있다. 계명이라 함은 한마디로 하나님과의 결혼 서약이다. 언약의 핵심이 바로 출애굽기 6:7 말씀이다, “너희를 내 백성으로 삼고 나는 너희의 하나님이 되리니” 바로 하나님과의 결혼, 결합을 말한다. 아멘 이라 화답 하는 순간에 하나님과 결혼이 이루어 지는 것이다. 이것이 신약으로 와서 어떻게 되는가, 영접하면서 하나님과 하나가 된다. 고전 6:17, “주와 합하는 자는 한 영이니라” 예수님을 영접함으로 우리가 예수님과 한 몸이 되었다는 말이다. 놀라운 신분의 변화이다. 에베소서 5:31, “그러므로 사람이 부모를 떠나 그의 아내와 합하여 그 둘이 한 육체가 될지니 이 비밀이 크도다. 나는 그리스도와 교회에 대하여 말하노라”. 참으로 놀라운 말씀이 기록 된 것이다. 제 7계명 안에 부부에 대한 말씀이 깊이 있게 담겨있는 것이다. 부부간의 하나를 찾는 이유가 바로 비밀이 크다 하며 그리스도와 교회에 대하여 이야기 하고 있는것이다 하는 말씀이다. 다시말해 우리 교회와 그리스도와 혼인잔치 통해 한 몸이 되는 것을 가정에서 찾아볼 수 있다는 말이다. 가정을 통해서 우리가 천국을 누리는 것이 마땅한 것이다. 그래서 7계명에 대해 말씀 하신것이다. 이런 이유로 예수님이 마태복음 5:29에 강하게 말씀 하신다, “만일 네 오른 눈이 너로 실족하게 하거든 빼어 내버리라 네 백체 중 하나가 없어지고 온 몸이 지옥에 던져지지 않는 것이 유익하며”. 너희들에게 문제가 생기는 근원부터 먼저 찾아서 제거하라는 말씀이다. 어떤 희생이 요구되더라도 가정을 보호 하라는 말씀이다. 이 모든것이 바로 마음에서부터 시작이 되니 마음속에 음욕을 품지 말고 지켜나가라 하는 말씀이다. 그러면 어떻게 이 근원적인 문제를 해결하는가? 에베소서 5:26-27, “이는 곧 물로 씻어 말씀으로 깨끗하게 하사 거룩하게 하시고 27 자기 앞에 영광스러운 교회로 세우사 티나 주름 잡힌 것이나 이런 것들이 없이 거룩하고 흠이 없게 하려 하심이라”. 먼저 문제가 생기면 물로 씻어야 한다. 주님 앞에 눈물로 회개해야 하는 것이다. 그 다음에 어떻게 하는가? 말씀통해 깨끗한 삶으로 바뀌어 나가야 한다. 말씀만이 우리를 깨끗하게 하고 말씀만이 우리를 거룩하게 할수있다. 그래서 우리 가정을 거룩하고 영광스러운 교회로 만드는 것이다. 그래서 티나 주름잡힌 것이나 이런 것이 없이 거룩하고 흠이 없게 만들라는 것이다. 우리는 조금 있으면 하늘의 혼인잔치에 참여할 사람들이다. 이 땅에서부터 준비 해야한다. 그리고 준비하는 데 가장 중요하신 것이 오늘 말씀대로 간음하지 않는 것이다. 말씀 붙들고 승리하시는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 

3. 말씀과 생기를 대언하라 Proclaim the Word and the Breath of Life

(1) 영적세계를 정확히 보라 See the spiritual world accurately

겔 Ezekiel 37:3

그래서 우리가 말씀과 생기를 대언해야겠다. 우리가 영적세계 먼저 제대로 보아야겠다. 에스겔서 37:3, “그가 내게 이르시되 인자야 이 뼈들이 능히 살 수 있겠느냐 하시기로 내가 대답하되 주 여호와여 주께서 아시나이다” 도저히 해결 할수 없는 마른뼈와 같은 현실과 가정의 상황 속에 있을수가 있다. 그 어떤 절대불가능 한 상태 이더라 하더라도 주님께 나아가고 맡기면 된다 하는 말씀이다. 

(2) 신분과 권세를 확인하라 Confirm your identity and authority

겔 Ezekiel 37:7

두번째로 신분과 권세를 확인해야겠다. 에스겔서 37:7, “이에 내가 명령을 따라 대언하니 대언할 때에 소리가 나고 움직이며 이 뼈, 저 뼈가 들어 맞아 뼈들이 서로 연결되더라”. 우리가 모든것을 회복 할수 있는 길은 오직 말씀 뿐이다. 말씀 누리게 될 때에 성령께서 역사 하시며 치유의 역사가 나타날 줄 믿는다. 

(3) 미래를 보라 See the future

겔 Ezekiel 37:10

그리고 우리는 미래를 보아야겠다. 에스겔서 37:10, “이에 내가 그 명령대로 대언하였더니 생기가 그들에게 들어가매 그들이 곧 살아나서 일어나 서는데 극히 큰 군대더라”. 여러분 가정에 하나님의 형상의 축복이 회복되길 바란다. 이것 누리기를 바란다. 그렇게 될때 여러분의 가정이 세상을 살리는 강한 군대가 될 줄을 믿는다. 승리하시는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 

Conclusion

고후 2 Corinthians 11:2

“내가 하나님의 열심으로 너희를 위하여 열심을 내노니 내가 너희를 정결한 처녀로 한 남편인 그리스도께 드리려고 중매함이로다” 하나님께 쓰임받는 중매자가 되기를 바란다. 이것이 바로 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 사명이다. 오늘 말씀 통하여 큰 축복 받는 여러분 되시기를 주 예수 그리스도 이름으로 축원한다.

You shall not commit adultery.

Introduction 

On the news, in Korea, there is a pastor named Young-hoon Lee at Full Gospel church who is having a hard time. He was having a hard time because the pastor committed adultery with one of the female church members so he is being sued by the church. The pastor is having a trial in Korea right now and is also suing the church for defamation. From my understanding, this pastor was a man of integrity. There was another pastor who is also having the same issue in Korea. There are many churches and pastors who are having difficulty because of this issue. What should we do in this situation? Many people tend to judge and criticize in these situations but we need to change our thinking. Jesus Christ said that those who have lust in your heart, then you have committed adultery. Then, this means that everyone has committed adultery. Who can be spared from this? You may appear to be a clean and pure person on the outside but on the inside, everyone is polluted with lust. 1 Corinthians 10:12 “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” - We need to hold onto God’s word and enter into prayer even more in these situations. Today’s sermon is very important. God has given us this sermon as the message of life. For our remnants and church officers, we need to enter into deep meditation and discover God’s plan today. 

1. God’s Plan

(1) God’s Gift

Verse 14 -

When God created the family, we need to interpret this once again.  Genesis 2:18-23 “And the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.” - God created mankind, man and woman in His own image. God also blessed mankind with the blessing to multiple and subdue and have dominion over all of the earth. The point of these verses is that only mankind was created in God’s image. 

If we look at the process of mankind being created in God’s image is seen in Genesis 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” - From here, the breath of life refers to “Nephesh hayyah.” Nephesh hayyah means a breathing beast, a breathing animal, or a breathing being. We are breathing beings but we are breathing beings who possess the breath of life. 

When God created Adam, God said in Genesis 2:18 - God wanted to give a helper for Adam and in Genesis 2:19 - God created all kinds of animals and birds from the dust of the ground, and had Adam name them. God wanted Adam to have satisfaction with the companionship of the animals so God created the animals and birds from the dust of the ground, and God wondered if Adam was going to call any of these creatures his helper. If you look at the wording in the Bible, it says God formed these living creatures and the original meaning of these living creatures, it uses the word, “nephesh hayyah.” So what this means is that Adam was created with a breath of life and possessed a living soul, which is described with the word, “nephesh hayyah.” And, the living creatures that God created also used the same word, “nephesh hayyah” as well. God created Adam with a breath of life and as a living creature, and God also created other living creatures to see if Adam would take it as his helper. We can see that these creatures were created as living creatures who were breathing. But Adam only named these creatures but Adam did not choose them as his helper. 

Genesis 2:20 - Adam did not find a helper comparable to him. Even if there were a cute dog or cows, and many cute creatures, Adam did not find a helper comparable to him.  

Genesis 2:21 - God made Adam fall into deep sleep and created Eve from the rib of Adam. When God created Eve for Adam, Adam met Eve for the first time, Adam was able to see Eve as a helper comparable to him.

When Adam saw Eve, and called her his helper, he says in Genesis 2:23 “And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.’ ” Eve was made from the rib of Adam, the ribs that protect the heart of man. These ribs that were used to create Eve, Adam says, “This is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.” Adam is basically saying that Eve and Adam are one, one body. Bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh means they must protect one another, Eve is his helper, and they are one body. That is why because a woman came out from a man, a woman is called a woman. Adam was created in the image of God and because Eve came from the body of Adam, Eve was also created in the image of God. This shows that Adam and Eve are both created in the image of God. God had Adam and Eve live in the Garden of Eden as a family, and God gave them three gifts and blessings. God prepared everything in the Garden of Eden so that Adam and Eve could enjoy the greatest and the best blessings there as a family. God blessed with the great blessing to eat all of the meat and fruit that they wanted to eat. They were also blessed to have dominion over all of the earth and rule over all creatures of the earth. God blessed them with great blessings as a family in the Garden of Eden. But a problem arose. 

(2) Satan’s Strategy of Destruction

Genesis 3:12 “Then the man said, ‘The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.’ ” - Satan attacks the family. Why? Because we can see that God started His plan with the family. God blessed Adam and Eve with the blessing to multiple and have dominion over all of the earth, and Satan knew of this. That is why Satan made mankind fall into disobedience and break apart the family. This caused the separation of God and made man lose the image of God. 

What did Adam say? This was what Adam said in Genesis 3:12 - Even though Adam was so happy to have Eve by his side, he started complaining and blamed Eve. And, then Adam started challenging God and started placing all blame on Eve who was considered one of the greatest blessings for Adam. The great gift that God gave man, this became a great problem and source of sin for Adam and Eve. This great blessing that God gave them, Satan turned this into a sin for Adam and Eve. We can see that all problems began because of this event. Mankind lost hold of the image of God so mankind had no choice but to live like animals. Right now, our younger children are living in post-modernism. Evolution is stating that we are not from the image of God and we are descendants of monkeys. Evolution states that animals are our cousins and we are no different from animals. Even now, people are living like animals. What do intellectuals say? They are like Satan’s spokesman, they are saying that we are from monkeys and we don’t need God. They are saying that we should live like animals. This is Satan lies to us. What does Satan say to us? Satan is telling us that we should live like animals because we are no different from animals. What is God saying to us? God is saying that we are not animals but we are children of God. We need to know and restore our identity. This is the point of the seventh commandment. This shows how important the seventh commandment is. 

2. The Meaning of the Seventh Commandment

(1) Biblical Meaning

Genesis 2:24 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” - We need to hold onto this. There is a deep meaning in the seventh commandment. 

1 Corinthians 6:15-19 “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” - If you murder, lie or steal, then you are committing sin against someone else. But if you commit sexual immorality, then you are committing sin against yourself. 

1 Corinthians 6:19 - Your body is the body of God and our bodies are the temple of God. When we accept Jesus Christ, our body changes into a holy body of God. If we commit sexual immorality, then we are polluting the body of God that is within us. 

1 Corinthians 6:16 - If you commit adultery with a harlot, then you are becoming one body with the harlot. 

1 Corinthians 6:17 - Your spirit will become one spirit with the harlot if you commit adultery with a harlot. Your soul and that person’s soul that you commit adultery with, your soul and their soul will be destroyed in the process. 

1 Corinthians 6:19 - Our body is the body of God and we need to not forget that our body belongs to God. And, our body is the temple of God. We should not make the temple of God into a trash can or pollute it. In the seventh commandment, God is warning us not to pollute our body. 

(2) Law for Protecting the Family

The seventh commandment is there so that we can protect our family. God is telling us not to commit adultery so that we can protect our family. 

Exodus 6:7 “I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.”- We have been looking at the 10 commandments and the 10 commandments show our marriage covenant with God. We are becoming one body of God, that is forming a marriage covenant with God. When we accept Jesus Christ in our hearts, then we are becoming one body with God. 

1 Corinthians 6:17 - When we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts, then we become one body with God. Our identity changes when we accept Jesus Christ. 

Ephesians 5:31-32, 26-27 “That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” - There is an important message here regarding a husband and wife. For a husband and wife, there is a great mystery here. It is concerning Christ and the church. This means that church and Jesus Christ are one body, we are unified in a marriage covenant with Christ. Within the family, we have to enjoy heaven. This is the point of the seventh commandment.

Matthew 5:29 “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” - If a problem arises, there is a reason for that problem so we need to root out that problem. No matter what, we need to protect your family. That is why God is saying for us to protect our hearts so that we don’t destroy our family. Then, how can we avoid these problems and solve our fundamental problems? 

Ephesians 5:26-27 - When a problem arises, we need to cleanse ourselves first. When we commit sin, we need to ask God for forgiveness first. After that we need to cleanse ourselves with the word of God. Only the word of God can make us righteous again and cleanse us. That is why God is telling us to make our family into a church and protect our family like a church. That is why the word of God can make us righteous and cleanse us. God wants to make our family glorious again. That is why our church should be without a spot, a wrinkle and be holy and without blemish. We need to join God in a feast in heaven. That is why God tells us today, the most important thing, that we should not commit adultery. We need to hold onto this message. 

3. Proclaim the Word and the Breath of Life

(1) See the spiritual world accurately

Ezekiel 37:3 “And He said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ So I answered, ‘O Lord God, You know.’ ” - Our lives may seem completely hopeless and hopeless for our family but God is telling us to entrust all things to Him. No matter how impossible the situation may be, we need to go before God and entrust all things to Him. 

(2) Confirm your identity and authority

Ezekiel 37:7 “So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.” - The way to restore all things is through the word of God alone. When we enjoy the word of God, then the power of the Holy Spirit will work and the works of healing will arise. 

(3) See the future

Ezekiel 37:10 “So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.” - Within our family, may the blessing of God’s image come upon your family. May your family restore the blessing of the image of God. May your family become the strong army to save this world. 

Conclusion

2 Corinthians 11:2 “For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” - May be individuals used by God. This is God’s mission for us. May we restore and receive great blessings in the name of Jesus Christ.
