“말씀으로 미리 주신 응답과 인도”

“너는 가서 이스라엘의 장로들을 모으고 그들에게 이르기를 여호와 너희 조상의 하나님 곧 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 하나님이 내게 나타나 이르시되 내가 너희를 돌보아 너희가 애굽에서 당한 일을 확실히 보았노라 17 내가 말하였거니와 내가 너희를 애굽의 고난 중에서 인도하여 내어 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅 곧 가나안 족속, 헷 족속, 아모리 족속, 브리스 족속, 히위 족속, 여부스 족속의 땅으로 올라가게 하리라 하셨다 하면 18 그들이 네 말을 들으리니 너는 그들의 장로들과 함께 애굽 왕에게 이르기를 히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 우리에게 임하셨은즉 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께 제사를 드리려 하오니 사흘길쯤 광야로 가도록 허락하소서 하라 19 내가 아노니 강한 손으로 치기 전에는 애굽 왕이 너희가 가도록 허락하지 아니하다가 20 내가 내 손을 들어 애굽 중에 여러 가지 이적으로 그 나라를 친 후에야 그가 너희를 보내리라 21 내가 애굽 사람으로 이 백성에게 은혜를 입히게 할지라 너희가 나갈 때에 빈손으로 가지 아니하리니 22 여인들은 모두 그 이웃 사람과 및 자기 집에 거류하는 여인에게 은 패물과 금 패물과 의복을 구하여 너희의 자녀를 꾸미라 너희는 애굽 사람들의 물품을 취하리라” (출 3:16-22) 

서론

잠 Proverbs 3:6

잠언서 3:6말씀 보게 되면 “너는 범사에 그를 인정하라 그리하면 네 길을 지도하시리라” 라고 말씀 하고 계신다. 이 말씀을 묵상하면 깊은 진리가 있는 것을 알수 있다. 깊은 축복의 말씀이 들어있는 것을 발견할수 있다. “범사에 그를 인정하라”. 무슨 말씀인가. 어떤 일이 내게 생긴다 해도 하나님께서 허락 하신 일 이구나 하는 것을 인정 하는 것이다. “그리하면 네 길을 지도하시리라”. 앞으로 네가 나가는 모든 길을 하나님께서 친히 인도 하시고 지켜 주실것이다 약속 하시는것이다. 믿으시는가. 지금까지 우리가 구원받고 하나님 자녀 되는 축복을 누리게 되었다. 우리가 어떤 노력을 해서 얻은것이 아니다. 하나님께서 일방적으로 축복 주셔서 지금까지 이처럼 인도 해 주신것이다. 그렇다면 우리 인생을 지금까지 인도 하신 하나님이 앞으로도 특별한 계획을 가지시고 응답을 주시며 인도해 나가실것이라는 것을 확신 할수 있는것이다. 우리가 어떤 존재인가. 하나님께서 자신의 아들을 십자가에 못 박혀 죽게까지 하시면서 구원해 주시며 자녀로 삼으신 일을 기억 하시기 바란다. 오늘 말씀 통해 우리가 받을 축복은, 제목처럼 말씀으로 미리 우리에게 응답 주시고 계시다는 사실을 잡아야한다. 나에게 주시는 모든것이 나를 축복 하시기 위해 미리 주신 응답 이라는 사실이다. 그 응답을 가지고 앞으로 나를 인도 해 나가실 것 이라는 것을 이야기 하는 것이다. 붙잡으시라. 네 길을 지도 하시리라. 오늘 말씀 통해 이것을 다시 한번 점검 하겠다. 

1. 하나님의 절대계획

(1) 하나님의 인도

출 Exodus 3:10-12

시 Psalm 32:8

우리가 지난 시간에 보았지만 출3;10 말씀 보면 하나님께서 모세에게 “이제 내가 너를 바로에게 보내어 너에게 내 백성 이스라엘 자손을 애굽에서 인도하여 내게 하리라” 하셨다. 그 이야기를 들은 모세는 깜짝 놀란다. 3:11 말씀 보면, “모세가 하나님께 아뢰되 내가 누구이기에 바로에게 가며 이스라엘 자손을 애굽에서 인도하여 내리이까” 라고 말한다. 하나님, 나는 안됩니다 말하는 것이다. 왜 그런가. 이 모세는 아주 최고의 학문을 배우고 지식적으로 똑똑한 사람 이었다. 그런데 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀 할때 모세에게는 사실상 이스라엘 백성을 향한 계획이 전혀 없었던것이다. 그리고 내 자신은 도무지 이 일을 할수 없는 존재라고 스스로 생각 했던 것이다. 하나님께서 말씀 하신것을 보면 모세가 무슨 고민 하면서 왜 불가능 하다 말했는지 그 내용을 보면 알 수 있다. 세가지를 찾아볼수 있는데 첫번째는, 백성들에게 가서 하나님이 나를 보내셨다 한들 그들이 순순히 나를 따라 오겠냐 하는 의문 이었다. 40년 전에 이미 모세가 인도해 낼라고 힘 썼다가 오히려 이스라엘 백성들이 겁을 먹은 적이 있었다. 그 상처를 모세는 아직까지 가지고 있던 것이다. 두번째는 또 바로에게 가서 여호와께서 나를 보내셨다 한들 순순히 이스라엘 백성들을 순순히 꺼내어 주겠나 하는 의문 이었다. 40년 전에 모세는 애굽 사람을 죽이고 이스라엘 이끌어내려다 실패했다. 자신은 도저히 불가능하다 안된다 생각 하는것이다. 세번째는 더 큰 문제를 이야기했다. 이스라엘 백성들이 모세를 따르고 바로가 허락 한다 한들 이 많은 사람들을 어떻게 데리고 다니면서 먹으면서 입히고 다니겠나, 그러할 능력이 내게는 전혀 없다 말하는 것이다. 그렇게 모세는 여러가지 여건 생각 해봤을때 도저히 불가능 한것을 깨달아 내가 누구라고 이런 일들을 하겠나 하나님께 질문 한 것이다. 그때 하나님께서 모세에게 답을 주신다. 그것이 출 3:12에 나온다, 네가 못하는것을 내가 잘 안다, 그러나 내가 너와 반드시 함께 있으리라 하신것이다. 하나님 말씀 하시는것은 너는 내가 하나님인것을 믿기만 해라, 그리하면 너의 모든 문제를 내가 해결 해 주겠다 하시는것이다. 시 32:8 말씀 보면, “내가 네 갈 길을 가르쳐 보이고 너를 주목하여 훈계하리로다” 라고 말씀 하고 계신다. 놀라운 말씀임을 볼수 있다. 하나님께서는 자녀들에게 친히 가르쳐 보이겠다 하시는 것이다. 네가 앞으로 갈 길을 가르쳐 보여 주겠다 하시는것이다. 주목해서 너를 지켜보고 계속 깨닫게 하겠다 라는 말씀이다. 이 언약 꼭 붙잡으시라. 무슨 말 인가. 내가 가기 전에 미리 응답을 주겠다 하시는 말씀이다. 우리가 이 언약만 잡게 되면 절대 실패 할수 없는것이다. 

(2) 첫 번째 미리 응답

그렇다면 오늘 본문 말씀중에 오늘 모세 에게 어떤 말씀 하셨나. 첫번째 문제는 내가 가서 출애굽 하자 한들 순순히 백성들이 따라 오겠나 했다. 그 해답을 16절 말씀에 주신다, “너는 가서 이스라엘의 장로들을 모으고 그들에게 이르기를 여호와 너희 조상의 하나님 곧 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 하나님이 내게 나타나 이르시되 내가 너희를 돌보아 너희가 애굽에서 당한 일을 확실히 보았노라”. 하나님께서 모세를 인도 하시는데 어떤 방법이 가장 좋은가 하니 먼저 장로들을 찾아가 내 말을 전하라 하신것이다. 너희 조상의 하나님, 아브라함, 야곱, 이삭의 하나님이 전하라 했다 라고 말해라 하신것이다. 왜 장로들에게 가라 하셨나. 그 사람들은 언약을 아는 사람들이다 이 말이다. 아브라함에게 약속 하신 언약, 그 언약을 기다렸던 사람들이 장로들이었다. 바로 창 3:15의 언약의 말씀을 기다리고 기다렸던 사람들 이라는 말이다. 17절, “내가 말하였거니와 내가 너희를 애굽의 고난 중에서 인도하여 내어 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅 곧 가나안 족속, 헷 족속, 아모리 족속, 브리스 족속, 히위 족속, 여부스 족속의 땅으로 올라가게 하리라 하셨다 하면” 그 사람들에게 약속하신 가나안 땅이 있다는 말이다. 그것을 가서 전하라 이 말이다. 그걸 전하게 되면 18절 말씀 보면, “그들이 네 말을 들으리니” 라고 한다. 하나님께서 우리에게 주시는 응답을 잘 보시기를 바란다. 내가 전한 이 말씀을 그대로 전하게 되면 그들이 듣게 될 것이라 하는 반응 까지도 약속 하시는것이다. 우리가 가는 길에 있어 하나님께서 말씀 주시면 이렇게 듣는 사람들이 응답 할 것이다 -- 여기 까지 알면 끝인것이다. 그런데 하나님께서는 그것으로 끝나지 않고, “너는 그들의 장로들과 함께 애굽 왕에게 이르기를 히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 우리에게 임하셨은즉 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께 제사를 드리려 하오니 사흘길쯤 광야로 가도록 허락하소서 하라” 할 말까지 주셨다. 놀라운 말씀이다. 지금 모세에게 하나님께서 말씀 하시기를 너 혼자 가지 말라, 장로들과 같이 바로를 만나러 가라 하시는것이다. 만일에 모세 혼자 가면 어떤 일이 생겼겠는가. 그 즉시 죽음을 당했을지도 모른다. 네가 왠 일이냐 하면서 당장 목을 베었을수도 있겠다. 그런데 그들과 함께 가서 같이 하나님의 말씀을 전하라 하신다. 그리고 구체적으로 바로에게 무슨 말을 해야 하는지 내용을 주셨다, “히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 우리에게 임하셨은즉 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께 제사를 드리려 하오니” 여러분 잘 아시다시피 애굽은 여러 신을 섬기는 나라였다. 히브리 사람이 섬기는 신이라고 했을때 거부감 없이 그러냐 인정 했을수도 있다. 그러나 하나님의 핵심 포인트를 전하는것이다, 그들에게 가서 피제사 드리겠다라고 해라. 여러분, 우리는 살아가면서 여러 문제 만날수가 있다. 분명한것은 하나님께서 우리에게 구체적으로 어떻게 해야 할 부분까지 정확하게 말씀해 주시는 것이다. 우리가 이것을 붙잡게 되면 실패 할수 없는것이다. 꼭 붙잡으시라. 하나님이 이처럼 구체적으로 나의 앞으로 갈 길에 대해 정확하고 확실하게 인도 하시고 말씀 하고 계신다는 사실이다. 

2. 하나님의 절대여정

(1) 두 번째 미리응답

출 Exodus 3:19, 20

출 Exodus 12:31-32

그러면 하나님께서 두번째로 미리 주시는 응답을 우리가 잡아야겠다. 모세의 두번째 문제는 바로에게 가서 하나님께서 보내셨다 한들 바로가 순순히 보내주겠느냐 하는 것 이었다. 당시 바로는 세계 최고의 권력자였다. 바로가 이스라엘 백성들 놓아주지 않으면 해방 될수 없는것이다. 그런데 19절 말씀 보면, “내가 아노니 강한 손으로 치기 전에는 애굽 왕이 너희가 가도록 허락하지 아니하다가” 하나님이 직접 말씀 하신다. 하나님은 벌써 바로에게 가 장로들과 함께 가서 이야기 한다고 해도 거절 할 것을 알고 계셨다. 당시 애굽은 60만명이나 되는 이스라엘 백성들을 노예로 거느렸다. 소나 말을 60만 마리 가지고 있어도 대단한데 노예를 그정도 가지고 있는것은 엄청난 재산이다. 가축이나 소나 말은 건축이나 공사 같은것은 할 수 없다. 애굽의 모든 경제 활동을 움직이게 하는 짐승보다 대단한 노예를 가졌다는것은 실로 엄청난 것이다. 이게 3일동안만 없어도 경제가 완전히 중단된다. 하나님께서는 그것을 아시고 20절에 말씀 하신다, “내가 내 손을 들어 애굽 중에 여러 가지 이적으로 그 나라를 친 후에야 그가 너희를 보내리라”. 하나님께서 이스라엘 백성들을 바로가 놓아주지 않을것을 아시고 이미 10가지 재앙을 준비하고 계셨다는 사실을 알수있다. 왜 그러한가. 하나님께서는 영광을 받으시고 또 이스라엘 백성 구원 하시기 위해 그리 하신것이다. 여러분들이 가지고 있는 문제를 해결하시기 위해 하나님께서 10가지 재앙을 미리 준비하고 계신다는 사실을 아셔야겠다. 10번째 장자재앙 그 이후에 너희를 보내리라 말씀 하시는 것이다. 몇번째에 어떻게 하면 그들이 보내게 될것 이라는 것을 하나님께서 완벽하게 계획 하고 계셨던것이다. 우리 죄를 우리 머리로 아무리 해결하려 한들 어떻게 할수 없다. 하나님께 모든것을 맡기고 인정하게 되면 인도하실줄 믿는다. 그 이후에 너희를 보내리라 하는것은 이미 응답 받고 시작했다는 말이다. 출 12:31-32, “밤에 바로가 모세와 아론을 불러서 이르되 너희와 이스라엘 자손은 일어나 내 백성 가운데에서 떠나 너희의 말대로 가서 여호와를 섬기며 32 너희가 말한 대로 너희 양과 너희 소도 몰아가고 나를 위하여 축복하라 하며”. 바로가 완전히 모세 앞에 항복 한 모습이다. 나를 위해 하나님께 축복의 기도 해달라는 말이다. 하나님이 주신 축복은 이정도로 놀랍다. 여러분이 하나님 믿고 있으면 절대 걱정할 것 없다. 

(2) 세 번째 미리응답

출 Exodus 3:21, 22, 창 Genesis 15:14, 출 Exodus 25:1, 2

그러면 세번째로 미리 주신 응답이 무엇인가? 바로가 허락 한다 한들 250만 되는 백성들을 어떻게 먹이고 입히는가 이 말이다. 하나님께서 이 문제도 해결 하셨다. 21절, “내가 애굽 사람으로 이 백성에게 은혜를 입히게 할지라 너희가 나갈 때에 빈손으로 가지 아니하리니” 여기서 은혜를 입힌다는 것은 바로 하나님에 대한 경외심, 두려움을 갖게 하고 영혼을 사랑하는 마음을 갖게 하는 것을 말한다. 한마디로 하나님의 은혜를 입은 자는 살아계신 하나님을 깨닫게 되는 것이다. 살아계신 하나님, 내 생명을 주관 하시는 하나님을 깨닫게 되면 내 모든것을 바치고 싶은 마음이 들게 되는것이다. 그렇게 되면 22절, “여인들은 모두 그 이웃 사람과 및 자기 집에 거류하는 여인에게 은 패물과 금 패물과 의복을 구하여 너희의 자녀를 꾸미라 너희는 애굽 사람들의 물품을 취하리라”. 은 패물과 금패물 취하고 의복을 취해 새로 꾸민다는 말은 신분이 변화 된다는 의미이다. 그 전에는 노예로 가축처럼 아무것도 없는 삶을 살았는데 그에게 은패물과 금 패물로 새로운 의복이 생긴다는 말은 새로운 신분이 된다는 말이다. 이것이 바로 10번째 재앙 막을 피바른 자가 받을 언약이다. 금과 같이 은과 같이 존귀한 존재로 바뀐다는 말이다. 여기서 한가지 잡을게 있다. 은금패물을 왜 말씀 하시는가. 은을 가지고 금을 가진다는것은 광야에서 어떻게 보면 거추장스러운것이다. 광야에서 금과 은이 있다 한들 무슨 소용이 있나. 먹을것 마실것이 귀하지 은금패물은 중요하지 않다. 그런데 하나님께서는 먹을것 마실것을 만나와 메추라기로 계속 허락 하신것을 볼수가있다. 그런데 은금에 대해서는 이것으로 끝나는 것이 아니라 이미 아브라함에게 창세기 15:14에 약속 하신것을 볼수 있다, “그들이 섬기는 나라를 내가 징벌할지며 그 후에 네 자손이 큰 재물을 이끌고 나오리라” 재물 가지고 나오는게 왜 중요하나. 출 25에 성전 건축하는 내용이 나온다. “여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되 2 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 내게 예물을 가져오라 하고 기쁜 마음으로 내는 자가 내게 바치는 모든 것을 너희는 받을지니라” 은과 금을 성전 건축하는데 사용 하시기 위해 들고 나오라 하신것이다. 거룩하신 하나님, 천지를 주관 하시는 하나님이 가장 귀한것 통해 영광 받으시기 위해 다 들고 나오라 하신것이다. 왜 그런가. 그 성전을 통해 이스라엘 백성들에게 참 응답 주시기 위해 성전을 허락 하신것이다. 이것을 이스라엘 백성들이 알았던것이다. 출 25:1-2, “여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되 2 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 내게 예물을 가져오라 하고 기쁜 마음으로 내는 자가 내게 바치는 모든 것을 너희는 받을지니라”. 기쁜 마음으로 바치는 것들만 하나님이 기뻐 받으신다 라고 했다. 억지로 바치는 것은 하나님이 받으시지 않으신다. 기쁜 마음으로 바칠때 하나님이 그를 통해 영광 받으시는것이다. 기쁨의 헌신 자체가 응답 받는 시작임을 알수가 있다. 그리고 우리 예배는 기쁜 마음으로 시작 하는 것이다. 그럴때 어떤 문제 있다 한들 상관 없는것이다. 기쁜 마음으로 드릴때 하나님께서 미리 응답을 부어주시는것이다. 

3. 하나님의 절대응답

(1) 나의 응답

출 Exodus 3:11

그래서 우리는 하나님의 절대응답을 누리는 자들이 되어야겠다. 지금 우리에게 주시는 말씀 다시한번 정리 해야겠다. 모세를 통해 우리가 받을것은 내가 먼저 응답 받아야 된다는 것이다. 출3:11, “모세가 하나님께 아뢰되 내가 누구이기에 바로에게 가며 이스라엘 자손을 애굽에서 인도하여 내리이까” 모세는 그동안에 최고의 경험도 지식도 쌓고 훈련도 많이 받은 사람이었다. 그 모든것이 내게 아무것도 소용 없다 하면서 포기 해버린것이다. 하나님이 언제 사용 하셨나. 인간의 노력이 아닌 성령충만의 역사가 이때 일어났다. 능력으로 인도 하시고 역사 하시는것을 체험 한 것이다. 성경 전체의 내용이 바로 나를 포기할때, 하나님이 비로소 역사 하신다는 사실이다. 모든 축복은 여기서부터 시작된다. 

(2) 나의 업의 응답

출 Exodus 3:16

그러면 두번째로 나타나는 것이 뭔가. 나의 업을 통해 응답이 그때부터 나타난다. 출 3:16, “너는 가서 이스라엘의 장로들을 모으고 그들에게 이르기를” 그 전에 내 모든 지식과 경험이 아무 소용이 없었는데 다 포기 하고 나니 이제 이스라엘 백성들에게 가서 그들을 모으고 그들에게 이야기 하라 말씀 하신다. 

궁중에서 광야에서 미디안에서 준비시킨 지도자 훈련과 모든 것들이 이제는 전문성을 띄며 나타나게 되는 것이다. 

(3) 교회 예배의 응답

출 Exodus 3:18

이런 축복이 어디서 나타나는가, 예배 통해 나타난다. 출 3:18, “우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께 제사를 드리려 하오니 사흘길쯤 광야로 가도록 허락하소서 하라”. 우리의 최고의 축복, 미리 주시는 응답은 바로 예배를 통해 나타난다는 사실을 붙잡아야 한다. 모든 것을 포기하고 주님께 전적으로 맡기며 나오게 될때 하나님께서는 거기에 모든 응답 다 주신다. 

(4) 지역의 응답

출 Exodus 3:20

그렇게 되면 지역을 향한 응답이 나온다. 20절, “내가 내 손을 들어 애굽 중에 여러 가지 이적으로 그 나라를 친 후에야 그가 너희를 보내리라” 그 지역에 하나님의 능력이 나타난다. 예배를 성공하는 사람에게 주시는 축복이다. 하나님께서 미리 주시는 응답이 현장에서 나타나기 시작하는것이다. 

(5) 나라의 응답

출 Exodus 3:21

다섯번째 주는 응답이 나라를 향한 응답이다, “내가 애굽 사람으로 이 백성에게 은혜를 입히게 할지라” 애굽 백성에게 은혜가 임하게 되는 놀라운 역사가 나타난다. 내가 현장에서 승리하면 나라에 대한 응답 주시고 세계복음화 역사가 일어난다. 여기서 가장 중요한것이 나에대한 응답을 먼저 받는것이다. 여기서 모든것이 시작 되는것이다. 승리하시기를 바란다. 

결론

출 Exodus 36:5

말씀 맺겠다. 출 36:5, “모세에게 말하여 이르되 백성이 너무 많이 가져오므로 여호와께서 명령하신 일에 쓰기에 남음이 있나이다” 광야에 갔더니 이스라엘 백성들이 너무 감사해서 은금을 가지고 성전을 짓기 위해 바치는 것을 볼수있다. 하나님 사랑하는 마음에 너무 뜨겁게 바치니 모세가 감격해 더 가지고 오지 말아라 할 정도였다. 이 모든 시작이 어디였나. 미리주신 응답을 받은 자들이 누리는 축복에서 시작 되었다. 다시말해 하나님 앞에 바로 서서 미리 주시는 응답 누리게 되면 그 속에는 차고 넘치는 축복이 있다는 것을 붙잡아야겠다. 성전 지을때 모든것을 바친것 같은데 실제로 이스라엘 백성들이 가진것이 더 많다. 차고 넘치는 축복들을 이스라엘 백성들이 가진것이다. 이축복들이 여러분에게 임하시기를 바란다. 오늘 말씀 꼭 붙잡고 승리하시는 여러분 되시기를 축원한다.

16 Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, “I have surely visited you and seen what is done to you in Egypt; 17 and I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.” ’ 18 Then they will heed your voice; and you shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt; and you shall say to him, ‘The Lord God of the Hebrews has met with us; and now, please, let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’ 19 But I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not even by a mighty hand. 20 So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst; and after that he will let you go. 21 And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. 22 But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.”

Introduction

If you look in Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” - If you meditate on this word, you find great wisdom and you can see that it is a scripture of blessings. It says to all ways acknowledge God and whatever happens, acknowledge that God allows everything to happen for a reason. If we do this then God will direct all of our paths. All of our paths, God will guide and bless us. He promises us this. Do you believe in this? Until now, we have received God’s salvation and have become children of God. We didn’t obtain this because we did something. God blessed us and guided us here until now. If that is so, then God who has guided us until now, God continues to give us answers to lead our life according to His plan. Who are we? We are beings where God has allowed His one and only Son to die for us. The message that God has given to us, we have held onto that God has given us answers in advance and guaranteed answers. All of the things that God has given to us, it has been given to us to bless us and to guarantee us blessings. God will continue to guide you to guaranteed answers. Hold onto this. God will direct your paths. 

1. God's Absolute Plan

(1) God's guidance

Last week we saw in Exodus 3:10-12 “Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt. 11 But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?’ 12 So He said, ‘I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.’ ” - Moses who heard this, he was so surprised. Moses told God that he couldn’t go before Pharaoh and the Israelites. Why was that? Moses grew up with the greatest educational and privileged background in Egypt. But Moses knew that he was someone that was not capable of doing God’s command and leading God’s people out of Egypt. We can see how Moses responded to God when God commanded Moses to go to Egypt and free His people. First, God was telling Moses that if you tell the people of God that God has sent him before them and God will lead them out of Egypt. In the past, Moses tried to lead his people when he was the prince of Egypt but he was denied and ignored by the Israelites. Moses still possessed this scar. Secondly, God commanded Moses to go before Pharaoh and tell him that it was God who sent him before Pharaoh. In the past, Moses killed an Egyptian so he was going to go before Pharaoh as a murderer and a fugitive. Lastly, Moses felt so powerless and couldn’t believe that he could lead and take care of the Israelites out of Egypt in the wilderness. Moses was worried about how he would lead God’s people out of Egypt and felt so powerless but at this time, God gave Moses an answer. 

That answer is seen in Exodus 3:12 - God told Moses that he cannot do it with his own strength and God will be with Moses. God told Moses to just believe and just believe in God, and God will give him answers. 

Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” - This was an astounding message. God promised His people that He will teach them where to go. God will continue to guide His people towards His direction. This is what we must hold onto. Wherever we go, God has prepared and absolute answers for us. We must hold onto this covenant and we will never fail.

(2) God's first answer in advance

If that is so, then how did God give Moses answers in advance with the problems that Moses had? The first problem that Moses had was unbelief and didn’t believe that the Israelites will believe him if he goes before them in Egypt. 

Verse 16 - God guided Moses and used the best method to guide him. The method that God used was through the elders. God commanded Moses to relay His word to the elders then the descendants of Abraham will know that it will be the covenant that God gave to Abraham. Why did God commanded Moses to go before the elders? It was because it was the elders who were holding onto the promised word of God given to Abraham.

The elders were holding onto Genesis 15:13 “Then He said to Abram: ‘Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.’ ” - There was a promised land of God and God wanted Moses to relay this covenant to the elders. If Moses relayed God’s word, then God said that the elders will listen to Moses. We need to see the prepared answers of God. If we just relay the word that God has prepared for us, then people will listen. This is God’s covenant. If we go into the field and people with the word of God, then people have no choice but to listen. 

God didn’t end there but in verses 17-18 - God told Moses not to go to Pharaoh by himself but to go before Pharaoh with the elders. If Moses went by himself, what would’ve happened? Moses might have been killed by Pharaoh. Pharaoh might wonder why Moses showed up and killed him on the spot. But Moses went with the elders, and relayed the word of God before Pharaoh. The content of what Moses had to say before Pharaoh, God showed Moses exactly what to say. As you know very well, Egypt was a land of idolatry. So, if the Hebrews said that they worshiped God, the Egyptians were okay with that because they believed in multiple gods. But God commanded Moses to go before Pharaoh that the Israelites had to go worship God and do the blood sacrifice. You may have many problems in your life but what is absolute is that God is letting you know how to be guided with and solve those problems. If we hold onto this, then we cannot fail. Absolutely hold onto this. God is absolutely and perfectly guiding and leading your life. If that is so, then we must see the answers in advance. 

2. God's Absolute Journey

(1) God's second answer in advance

The second problem that Moses faced was that if he did go before Pharaoh and commanded him to free the Israelites, would Pharaoh just let them go easily? At that time, Pharaoh was considered very powerful. Even if the Israelites wanted to be freed, would Pharaoh allow this? 

Verses 19, 20 - God already knew that pharaoh would reject Moses when he commanded Pharaoh to free his people with the elders. The fact was that Egypt had 600,000 Israelite slaves. Through this, Egypt made a lot of financial profit through the Israelite slaves. Without the Israelite slaves, they couldn’t do any infrastructure or livestock work in Egypt. The Israelites were working like animals in Egypt. If they lost all of the Israelite slaves, then that would cause major economical loss in Egypt. 

God who knew this, God said in verse 20 - God knew that Pharaoh will not free the Israelites so that is why He prepared the 10 plagues upon Egypt. Why was that? It was so that God could be glorified and the Israelites could be freed. God has prepared the 10 plagues so that you can lead in your life and to break your problems. The blood sacrifice and passover were all prepared for this. Hold onto that God prepares everything perfectly to solve our problems. No matter how much knowledge you use to show your problems, you cannot solve them. That is why we must entrust God 100% and have faith in Him completely. If we do this, then we can go out with the prepared answers. 

Exodus 12:31-32 “Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, ‘Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the Lord as you have said. 32 Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.’ ” - Pharaoh completely surrendered before Moses and Pharaoh asked Moses to bless him also. This means that Pharaoh acknowledged the God of Moses. 

(2) God's third answer in advance

The third problem and answer that Moses had was that even if Pharaoh did allow the Israelites to be freed, then how will Moses take care of and feed all of the Israelites in the wilderness? God solved this problem as well. 

Verse 21 - God gave His great grace upon them. God allowed them fear and love to come upon His people and the Egyptians. This means that they could experience the love of God and see that God was truly alive. If you acknowledge God then you are able to entrust all things to God.  

Verse 22 - To put on articles of silver and gold on their clothing means that their status was changed. Their status as a slave changed. They used to live as slaves where they had nothing but now, they were put on clothing with articles of silver and gold. This was part of the answer of those who performed the blood sacrifice on the door post. Their status changed into precious children of God who were clothed with silver and gold. Why were they clothed with silver and gold? To have gold and silver in the wilderness really had no purpose for you and it could be more bothersome. Food and water was more important in the wilderness than gold and silver. But God continued to allow quail and manna to be prepared in the wilderness. But, the gold and silver was actually already prepared as part of God’s covenant with Abraham. Genesis 15:14 “And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions.” - God promised that they will come out with great treasures when they come out of Egypt. Why is this important? 

Exodus 25:1, 2 “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 ‘Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering.’ ” - God promised that the tabernacle will be prepared in the wilderness. The gold and silver used to build the tabernacle. The righteous God who is the Creator, in order for them to be glorified, God allowed them to come out of Egypt with gold and silver for this reason. Through this tabernacle, God wanted to bless the Israelites. The Israelites knew this. 

Exodus 25:2 - God said that willingly means that the Israelites were able to joyfully give offerings to God. To be able to give offerings with a willingly and glad heart is a great blessing. We must start worship with a glad heart. Then, no matter what problems come to us, it doesn’t matter. 

3. God's Absolute Answer

(1) Answers for you

Exodus 3:11 - You must receive answers first. Moses grew up with a great educational and privilege background in Egypt. But Moses gave up on himself when he lived as a fugitive in Midian. But when does God end up using you? God will work and use you through the power of the Holy Spirit not by your own power. You need to experience the power and guidance of God. The entire content of the Bible is when you discard yourself, then God will work. This is the start of all blessings. 

(2) Answers for your careers

Verse 16 - Your prior knowledge and background, all of that doesn’t matter, just go before Pharaoh with the elders and relay the word of God. That was what God told Moses. His past didn’t matter anymore. God will show Moses the path on how he could use his past to fulfill God’s command. All of this was possible because he was able to give worship in the wilderness. 

(3) Answers for church and worship

Verse 18 - Our greatest answers and blessings come from worship. When we direct all our paths to worship and discard ourselves, then you can receive answers. 

(4) Answers for your region

Verse 20 - God’s power will come upon our region. When you succeed in worship, God’s answers will show in your region. The prepared answers of God will show in your field and region. 

(5) Answers for the nation

Verse 21 - God’s great grace and favor came upon the Israelites. When we succeed in our region, then our nation will succeed. This is the start of world evangelism. The most important is that we must receive answers first. This is the start. Be victorious. 

Conclusion

Exodus 36:5 “And they spoke to Moses, saying, ‘The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do.’ ” - The Israelites were so thankful to God that they prepared all of their possessions before God and for the tabernacle. When Moses saw this, he was so moved. This all started because all of the answers that they received were received in advance. When we enjoy our answers in advance then our lives will be overflowing with answers and blessings. You think that they were giving everything to the tabernacle but they had leftovers. These were the amazing blessings that the Israelites were able to enjoy. Hold onto today’s sermon and be victorious.
