“무교절 절기를 제정”

“너희는 이레 동안 무교병을 먹을지니 그 첫날에 누룩을 너희 집에서 제하라 무릇 첫날부터 일곱째 날까지 유교병을 먹는 자는 이스라엘에서 끊어지리라 16 너희에게 첫날에도 성회요 일곱째 날에도 성회가 되리니 너희는 이 두 날에는 아무 일도 하지 말고 각자의 먹을 것만 갖출 것이니라 17 너희는 무교절을 지키라 이 날에 내가 너희 군대를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내었음이니라 그러므로 너희가 영원한 규례로 삼아 대대로 이 날을 지킬지니라 18 첫째 달 그 달 열나흗날 저녁부터 이십일일 저녁까지 너희는 무교병을 먹을 것이요 19 이레 동안은 누룩이 너희 집에서 발견되지 아니하도록 하라 무릇 유교물을 먹는 자는 타국인이든지 본국에서 난 자든지를 막론하고 이스라엘 회중에서 끊어지리니 20 너희는 아무 유교물이든지 먹지 말고 너희 모든 유하는 곳에서 무교병을 먹을지니라” (출 12:15-20)  

서론

마틴루터가 종교 개혁 할 때의 이야기다. 그가 와루트부르그 성에서 성경을 번역하고 있었다. 그때 환상중에 마귀가 나타났다. 마귀가 나타나서 종이 한장을 보여주는데, 그 종이에는 루터가 태어나서 지은 모든 죄에 대한 내용이 적혀있었다. 그것을 본 순간 그의 얼굴이 하얗게 질렸다. 마귀가 이야기했다, “너 같은 더러운 죄인이 무슨 종교개혁을 하겠느냐”. 이어서 깨끗하지 못한 주제에 무슨 자격으로 일을 벌리고 다니느냐 공격 했다고 한다. 이에 부끄러움과 좌절을 느끼는데 성령님께서 말씀을 주셨다고 한다. 로마서 8:1, “그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 자에게는 결코 정죄함이 없나니 이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 너를 해방하였음이라”. 이 말씀을 듣는 순간 힘이 솟아났다고 한다. 앞에 있는 잉크병을 던지면서 일어나 “그리스도안에 있는 자에게는 결코 정죄함이 없노라!” 성령님이 주신 말씀을 선포했다. 그 이야기를 들은 마귀는 아무 소리 하지 못하고 떠나갔다고 한다. 아주 중요한 체험을 한것이다. 우리가 말씀을 잡는 순간에 모든 흑암이 무너지는것이다. 모든 저주도 떠나가는줄 믿는다. 

1. 무교절의 시작 The Start of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

(1) 무교절의 제정 The Establishment of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

출 Exodus 12:15

레 Leviticus 23:5-6, 마 Matthew 26:26

오늘도 중요한 말씀을 우리에게 주셨다. 15절, “너희는 이레 동안 무교병을 먹을지니 그 첫날에 누룩을 너희 집에서 제하라 무릇 첫날부터 일곱째 날까지 유교병을 먹는 자는 이스라엘에서 끊어지리라”. 이레동안, 곧 7일동안 무교병을 먹으라고 하셨다. 이 7일 이라는 기간에는 중요한 의미가 있다. 7은 완전수이다. 7일동안 먹으라 함은, 일평생 붙잡아라 하는 말씀이다. “무릇 첫날부터 일곱째 날까지”. 레위기 23:5-6에 이에 대해 정확히 나온다, “첫째 달 열나흗날 저녁은 여호와의 유월절이요 6 이 달 열닷샛날은 여호와의 무교절이니 이레 동안 너희는 무교병을 먹을 것이요”. 실제로 무교병을 8일동안 먹게 되는것이다. 이레동안 먹으라는 말은, 일평생, 항상 이것을 기억하고 먹어라 하는 의미이다. 그렇다면 무교병이 무엇인가 하는것이다. 무교병은 히브리 원어로 마초트 라는 단어가 사용되었는데, 이는 누룩이 들어가지 않은 빵을 말한다. 이는 “맛차즈” 라는 물을빼다, 장례를 지내다, 묻어두다 하는 단어에서 유래되었다. 그러니까 무교병이라는 것은 그 단어 자체에 죽음의 의미를 가지고 있다. 영적으로 중요한 부분이다. 무교병을 먹으라는 말은, “예수님의 대속하신 몸” 을 나타내는것이다. 마 26:26 에 말씀 하신다, “그들이 먹을 때에 예수께서 떡을 가지사 축복하시고 떼어 제자들에게 주시며 이르시되 받아서 먹으라 이것은 내 몸이니라 하시고.” 예수님께서 떡을 주시면서, 먹어라, 나의 몸이니라 하시며 주신것이다. 이 말은 곧 나의 죽음에 동참하라 이 의미이다. 그래서 15절 끝에 “유교병을 먹는 자는 이스라엘에서 끊어지리라” 라고 한것이다. 유월절날에 문설주에 양의 피 발랐을때는 죽음이 건너갔다 했다. 그런데 피를 발랐음에도 유교병을 계속 먹는 자는 이스라엘에서 끊어지리라 했다. 그렇게되면 유월절 통해 새생명이 시작 되었는데 이 새생명에 동참하지 못하게 되는것이다. 다시말해 유월절의 피 바른 자들은 예수님의 대속의 믿음을 지켜야 한다는 말씀이다. 아, 예수님께서 나를 위해 돌아가셨구나 하는 참믿음을 가질때에 진정으로 새로운 삶이 시작된다. 여러분 마음 가운데 “아, 예수님이 나를 위해 돌아가셨구나” 정말 믿어지고 감사가 나오시는가? 이것이 유월절 통해 주신 하나님의 말씀이다. 

(2) 무교절의 내용 What to do during the Feast of Unleavened Bread

출 Exodus 12:16-17

16절, “너희에게 첫날에도 성회요 일곱째 날에도 성회가 되리니 너희는 이 두 날에는 아무 일도 하지 말고 각자의 먹을 것만 갖출 것이니라”. 첫쨋날, 그리고 일곱쨋날에는 아무것도 하지 말라 하시는것이다. 너희들은 예배 드릴때 절대 세상것을 찾지 말라 하는 의미이다. 그리고 마지막 부분에, “너희는 이 두 날에는 아무 일도 하지 말고 각자의 먹을 것만 갖출 것이니라”. 여기서 오직 먹을 것은 무교병, 곧 생명의 떡을 말한다. 바로 생명의 말씀, 새로운 삶을 지켜나가는 말씀만 묵상하라 이 의미이다. 17절에 또 놀라운 말씀 나타난다, “너희는 무교절을 지키라 이 날에 내가 너희 군대를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내었음이니라 그러므로 너희가 영원한 규례로 삼아 대대로 이 날을 지킬지니라”. 아무것도 안하고 오직 말씀만 붙잡고 무교병만 찾을 이유가 여기 있는것이다. “이 날에 내가 너희 군대를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내었음이니라” 이스라엘 백성들을 향해 하나님께서 “군대” 라고 칭하신것이다. 이스라엘은 지금 스스로 노예라고 생각하고 아무것도 보잘것 없는 존재로 생각하고 있었다. 여기에는 노인도, 연약한 여인들과 아이들도 포함 되어있는데 이들을 모두 군대 라고 부르시면서 하나님 당신께서 너희 군대를 애굽땅에서 이끌어 나갈 사령관이다 하시는것이다. 나는 애굽의 모든 신을 정복한 하나님이다, 선포 하신다. 너희 군대를 내가 애굽 땅에서 인도해 나가겠다 하시는 의미이다. 대단히 중요한 메시지다. 아무리 우리가 연약하고 마귀의 종 노릇 하며 살던 과거가 있어도 예수님 영접 하는 순간 하나님의 강한 군대가 되는것이다. 이스라엘 백성들을 기억해보시라. 아무 힘도 없고 노예에 지나지 않던 사람들이 하나님을 사령관으로 두니 여리고성을 무너뜨리고 가나안의 7족속 31왕을 점령하는 막강한 군대가 된다. 이것은 무엇을 나타내는가. 예수를 영접한 우리의 삶은 예수님께서 직접 사령관이 되셔서 우리의 어떤 문제도 해결해 나가는 능력을 주신다는 말이다. 그런데 이 군대가 꼭 지켜야 할 법이 있는것이다. 17절 마지막이다, “그러므로 너희가 영원한 규례로 삼아 대대로 이 날을 지킬지니라” 막강한 군대가 붙잡을것은 바로 이 절기이다. 승리를 보장받을 방법과 비밀이 바로 이 절기와 언약의 말씀을 붙잡는 것 이었다. 이 말씀을 영원한 언약으로 붙잡을때 보좌의 능력이 나타난다. 이 언약을 여러분께서 꼭 잡으시라. 여러분이 이 언약 잡고 있는 한 여러분을 당할 자가 없다. 

2. 무교절의 언약 The Covenant of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

(1) 누룩을 제하라 Remove the leaven

출 Exodus 12:18-19

마 Matthew 16:6, 12, 23:25, 고전 1 Corinthians 5:6-7

18절 말씀, “첫째 달 그 달 열나흗날 저녁부터 이십일일 저녁까지 너희는 무교병을 먹을 것이요”. 중요한 말씀이다. 구원받은 날로부터 우리가 먹을것은 이 무교병 이라는 말이다. 구원받은 자로써 이를 붙잡아야 한다 이 말이다. 19절 말씀에 계속된다, “이레 동안은 누룩이 너희 집에서 발견되지 아니하도록 하라”. 여기에는 중대한 의미가 들어있다. 누룩 이라는것에서 부터 문제가 시작되는것이다. 누룩이 도대체 뭔가. 누룩은 곰팡이균을 말한다. 빵에다가 누룩을 넣게 되면 변화 되지 않는가. 이 곡식이 본질적으로 변화 되는것이다. 그리고 모양도 변한다. 맛도 달라진다. 이 누룩이 들어가게 되면 근본적인것이 전부 변한다. 하나님께서 이걸 말씀 하시는것이다. 마태복음 16:6, “예수께서 이르시되 삼가 바리새인과 사두개인들의 누룩을 주의하라 하시니”. 예수님께서 말씀하신 바리새인이나 사두개인의 누룩은 무엇을 의미하나 생각해볼 필요가 있다. 마태복음 16:12 예수님께서 말씀하신다, “그제서야 제자들이 떡의 누룩이 아니요 바리새인과 사두개인들의 교훈을 삼가라고 말씀하신 줄을 깨달으니라” 잘못된 배움, 변질된 교훈을 말하는것이다. 마태복음 23:25 말씀 보게되면, 바리새인과 사두개인이 살던 방식에 대해 나온다. 누룩 가진 자 들의 삶이다. 그들을 외식하는 자 라 부르시며 그 안에는 탐욕과 방탕으로 가득 찼다고 나와있다. 많은 사람들이 교회 다니면서도 탐욕과 방탕에 빠져있다. 누룩이 그 속에 들어가면 근본적인 변화가 일어나는것이다. 그래서 예수님께서 누룩을 조심하라 이 말씀 하신것이다. 고전 5:6, “너희가 자랑하는 것이 옳지 아니하도다 적은 누룩이 온 덩어리에 퍼지는 것을 알지 못하느냐”. 빵에 누룩을 조금만 넣어도 엄청난 변화가 일어난다. 인간의 마음속에 들어가는 죄악에 비유한것이다. 죄악이 마음과 생각속에 조금만 들어와도 급속히 퍼져 우리를 지배한다. 이것을 조심하라 이것이다. 7절, “ 너희는 누룩 없는 자인데 새 덩어리가 되기 위하여 묵은 누룩을 내버리라 우리의 유월절 양 곧 그리스도께서 희생되셨느니라”. 우리는 예수 그리스도를 영접한 하나님 자녀, 새로운 삶이 시작되고 새로운 생명이 시작 된것이다. 이 축복 누리기 위해서는 과거의 모든 누룩 버리라 이 말이다. 이것을 우리가 어떻게 볼수가 있나. 예수님께서 사도바울에게 답 주셨다, “우리의 유월절 양 곧 그리스도께서 희생되셨느니라” 내 자신은 그 안에 누룩 빼낼수 없다. 그러나 우리를 대신해 십자가에서 돌아가신 예수 그리스도가 그 모든 문제 해결 하셨다. 예수 그리스도 영접하는 순간에 우리 안에 모든 죄악과 흑암이 사라진다. 예수님 영접하는 그 순간에 우리 안에 모든 죄 그리스도께서 해결 하셨다. 모든 죄악 모든 흑암 완전히 해결되었다. 결국 너희들의 정체성을 확실히 잡으라 이 말씀이다. 이미 해결하신 모든 죄악 가지고 고민하지말고, 이미 그리스도께서 끝내셨다! 결론 내리라 이 말이다. 그러고도 또 넘어질수도 있다. 그때 다시 하나님 앞에 나가서 회개하면 되는것이다. 

(2) 무교병을 먹으라 Eat unleavened bread

출 Exodus 12:20

요 John 6:48, 51

그것이 곧 무교병을 먹는것이다. 20절, “너희는 아무 유교물이든지 먹지 말고 너희 모든 유하는 곳에서 무교병을 먹을지니라’ 하나님께서 명령 하고 계신것이다. “너희 모든 유하는 곳에서 무교병을 먹을지니라” 여기서 우리가 하나 붙잡고 넘어갈게 있다. 이스라엘의 절기를 이야기 하고 있다. 유월절, 무교절 – 이스라엘의 절기의 특징은 바로 여호와 하나님이 직접 만드시고 세우셨다. 대단히 중요한 부분이다. 보통 절기라 함은 나라를 막론하고 어떠한 사건을 계기로 세워졌다. 미국 독립기념일은 미국의 독립을 기념하기 위함이다. 그런데 성경에 세워진 절기는 그것과 전혀 다르다. 유월절, 오순절, 수장절을 지킨다. 이것은 지나고 나서 사건 후에 생긴 날이 아니라 하나님이 그 일이 있기 전에 하나님이 세우신 날이다. 이러한 일이 일어날것이니 너희들은 이 날을 이러한 모양으로 지키라 말씀 하신것이다. 놀라운 사실이다. 이것은 살아계신 하나님만이 하실수 있는 일이다. 이러한 일이 있을것이니 지키라 하는것은, 오직 살아계신 하나님만 하실수 있는 말이다. 세상 그 어느 누구도 이를 모방할수 없다. 이 절기를 지키는것에 놀라운 의미와 축복이 다 들어있는 이유다. 오늘 하나님께서 우리에게 무교절로 이 날을 허락하신것이다. 여기에는 축복 받는 비밀이 숨겨져있음을 알고 이를 지켜야겠다. 이 날을 지키는것이 무엇을 나타내나. 이스라엘 백성들에게 너희들이 이제껏 가지고 있던 모든 노예된 습성, 습관 삶을 버려라 하는 의미이다. 그러면서 미리 이 모든것을 알려주신것이다. 그것으로 끝나지 않는다. 그 무교절 통해 더 깊은 영적 의미가 있다. 그 떡을 먹으라 하신것이다. 요 6:47에 예수님이 말씀하셨다, “내가 곧 생명의 떡이니라”. 예수님이 그 무교병이라는 말이다. 살아계신 하나님은 이렇듯 놀랍게 역사하신다. 십자가에서 대속할 몸이 바로 나다, 이런 나의 몸을 먹으라 하는 말이다. 이를 통해 너희들이 생명을 얻고 힘을 얻게 되리라 하는것이다. 어떻게 이 무교병을 먹는가. 예수님의 말씀을 붙잡는것이다. 너희 모든 유한것에서 무교병을 먹으라 했다. 왜 먹는가. 요 6:51, “ 이 떡을 먹으면 영생하리라 내가 줄 떡은 곧 세상의 생명을 위한 내 살이니라 하시니라”. 확실한 말씀으로 우리에게 주셨다. 

3. 하나님이 준비해 두신 것 What God has prepared

(1) 환상 중에 In a vision

행 Acts 16:9

그렇다면 우리가 하나님이 예비해두신것을 보아야겠다. 행 16:9, “밤에 환상이 바울에게 보이니 마게도냐 사람 하나가 서서 그에게 청하여 이르되 마게도냐로 건너와서 우리를 도우라 하거늘” 하나님은 항상 우리에게 미리 응답 주신다. 절기도, 모든 응답도 미리 주시는 하나님 되신다. 하나님께서 주신 강단에서 떨어지는 말씀을 나의 절대언약, 망대로 잡으면 승리 한다 이 말씀이다.  미리 주신것을 망대로 붙잡기만 하면 응답이 떨어지는것이다. 

(2) 기도처를 찾다가 While searching for a place of prayer

행 Acts 16:14

행 16:14, 기도처를 찾다가 생긴 일이다, “두아디라 시에 있는 자색 옷감 장사로서 하나님을 섬기는 루디아라 하는 한 여자가 말을 듣고 있을 때 주께서 그 마음을 열어 바울의 말을 따르게 하신지라”. 하나님께서 우리 기도 가운데 만남의 축복도 다 주신것이다. 모든 문을 열수 있는 만남의 축복 예비 하셨다. 하나님이 예비하신 절대여정 갈수 있도록 모든것을 예비 하셨다. 우리가 언약 잡고 기도만 하면 하나님이 인도 하신다. 무슨 일 해야할지, 어떻게 가야할지 걱정 할 필요가 없다. 하나님이 정하신 절대여정으로 우리에게 예비 하셨다. 어떤 만남을 주셨을까 어떤 축복을 예비 하셨을까 이것만 생각 하시라. 

(3) 기도하는 곳에 가다가 While going to a place of prayer

행 Acts 16:18

행 16:18에 또 기도하러 가는 중에 이런 일을 마주한다, “이같이 여러 날을 하는지라 바울이 심히 괴로워하여 돌이켜 그 귀신에게 이르되 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 내가 네게 명하노니 그에게서 나오라 하니 귀신이 즉시 나오니라”. 우리가 언약잡고 기도 하고 있으면 하나님은 당신의 살아계심을 반드시 증거 하신다. 새로운 이정표를 하나님이 준비 하신것이다. 이 응답대로 우리는 가기만 하면 된다. 이런 응답 받는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 걱정 할 이유 전혀 없다. 말씀 맺겠다. 출 12:20, “너희는 아무 유교물이든지 먹지 말고 너희 모든 유하는 곳에서 무교병을 먹을지니라”. 나의 신앙 생활 방해하는 그것을 찾지 말고 모든 사건, 일 속에 오직 하나님 말씀만 찾으라 이 말이다. 말씀에 답이 있다. 마틴 루터도 말씀 붙잡게 될때 흑암이 떠나감을 체험했다. 동일한 응답 받는 여러분 되시기를 예수님 이름으로 축원한다. 

Establishment of the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Exodus 12:15-20)

15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel. 16 On the first day there shall be a holy convocation, and on the seventh day there shall be a holy convocation for you. No manner of work shall be done on them; but that which everyone must eat—that only may be prepared by you. 17 So you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I will have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance. 18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. 19 For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, since whoever eats what is leavened, that same person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a native of the land. 20 You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread.’ ”

Introduction

Martin Luther said this during the religious reformation and he said this while translating the Bible. During that time, he had a vision that Satan visited him and showed him a paper. That paper showed all of the sins that Martin Luther committed throughout his lifetime. The moment he saw that paper, his face turned pale. Then Satan told Luther that how can a sinful person do a religious reformation? You are full of sin and how can you clean with those dirty hands? When he heard those words from Satan, Luther felt ashamed and discouraged. During that time, the Holy Spirit came to him and gave him the word, Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”. The moment Luther heard this, he felt encouraged. After that, Luther grabbed a bottle of ink near him to Satan and scolded him while proclaiming Romans 8:1-2. After this, Satan fled. Luther was able to have a great experience from this. I think this is so true. The moment we hold onto God’s word, all darkness has no choice but to flee. And, all curses flee. Today’s sermon is very important. 

1. The Start of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

(1) The Establishment of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

Verse 15 - For seven days, God commanded them to eat unleavened bread. The meaning of seven days is very important and the number seven has a meaning to God. God is telling them to hold onto His word for the rest of their lives. You can eat leavened bread on the eighth bread. God was telling them to eat unleavened bread for seven days was God told them to remember this for the rest of their lives. Unleavened bread is bread without yeast. In other words, unleavened bread or bread without yeast also represented death. There was spiritual importance and meaning here. Unleavened bread represented the body and death of Jesus Christ. 

Leviticus 23:5-6 “On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the Lord’s Passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.” - 

Matthew 26:26 “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, 'Take, eat; this is My body.' ” - Jesus broke bread and said that this bread was His body. This means that Jesus was telling them to participate in the death of His body. There was an important meaning here. When they spread blood on their door post, the angel of death passed over them. Also, those who ate leavened bread were cut off from Israel. If they ate leavened bread, they could not participate in their new life. Those who spread blood during the passover, they could participate in the breaking of bread, the body of Jesus Christ. When you have faith that Jesus Christ died for you then you are able to see what Jesus Christ had done for you. This was the message that God was giving to His people. 

(2) What to do during the Feast of Unleavened Bread

Verses 16-17 - God commanded them not to do any work on the first day. During the day of worship, don’t search or think about any worldly things. Don’t do anything or any work but hold onto the word of God. The unleavened bread was the word of life, the word of God. They were able to gain new life through the word of God. 

Verse 17 - The reason why they had to hold onto God’s word and do no work was seen in this verse. God said that He will send out an army to the land of Egypt. Who does God see the Israelites? During that time, the Israelites only saw themselves as slaves. They saw themselves as powerless people and with nothing. To these Israelites, who saw themselves as powerless people, God called them His army. This means that God was their commander and He is the almighty God who destroyed all Egyptians gods. God promised that He will guide and protect them out of Egypt. This was an important word. No matter how weak we may feel, if we are people of God, then we are considered as the powerful army of God. And, God is our commander. Look later on, the Israelites became a powerful army. They were able to break down the wall of Jericho and were able to overcome 31 kings. This showed that Jesus Christ who we accepted as our master, He is capable of answering any of our problems and prayers. One thing that they needed to keep as an army of God was the covenant of God. When they held onto the eternal covenant of God, then the power of the heavenly throne came upon them. We must hold onto the covenant of God today. The moment you hold onto God’s covenant, no one can overcome you. 

2. The Covenant of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

(1) Remove the leaven

Verses 18-19 - This is an important word. The moment they were saved, they were told to continue to eat unleavened bread every day. As people of God who are saved, they must do this. 

Verse 19 - They were commanded that no leaven bread should be found in their house. This has an important meaning. There is a problem with leavened bread. Leavened bread grows mold and if a bread grows mold, then the quality of the bread will change. It changes the entire quality and taste of the bread. This was what God was trying to tell us this. 

Matthew 16:6, 12, 23:25 “Then Jesus said to them, ‘Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.’ 12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees. 23:25 ‘Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.’ ” - What does it mean by leaven pharisees and Sadducees? 

Matthew 16:12  - God was saying to be careful of their incorrect doctrine and lifestyle. 

Matthew 23:25 - This shows how the Pharisees and Sadducees lived. Their lives were full of extortion and self indulgence. Many people go to church but there are many church goers who are corrupt. If you are full of self indulgence then you have no choice but to live your life like this. This was why God was careful of leavened bread. 

1 Corinthians 5:6-7 “Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.” - When you add a little bit of yeast to bread, then it changes everything in the bread. This shows what a little bit of sin can do within our heart. Just a little bit of sin and darkness inside of us can spread so fast. 

If we accept Jesus Christ in our lives, we have a new life. We are able to begin a new life. We are a new creation. In order to enjoy this blessing, we must discard all of our leavened bread. We must discard our old lives. How do we do that? We cannot take out the leavened bread inside of us but Jesus Christ who died on the cross can. Those who accept Jesus Christ, all of our filthy sins and parts inside of us will be completely cleansed. The moment we accept Jesus Christ, He will answer all of our problems. All of our disasters and curses, they are all over. This means that we must hold onto our identity. Because we are weak, we should not focus on our lackings and powerlessness but we must remember that Jesus Christ finished everything. We can make mistakes but if we come before God and repent, then we can start anew. This is what it means to eat the unleavened bread. Let us be victorious today. There is no problem that we cannot solve with Jesus Christ. 

(2) Eat unleavened bread

Verse 20 - This was what God commanded His people. God commanded them to always eat unleavened bread. From here, we must hold onto one thing. We are talking about the passover and leavened bread. What was the commonality of the feasts of the Israelites? The commonality of all of these feasts was that they celebrated their victory. July 4th celebrates the independence of America. The Jews celebrate the feasts incorrectly. We have the feasts, the Passover, ingathering, and pentecost. God established all of these feasts after events took place. God created these feasts so they can remember what He did. This is astounding. Only God can do this. Only God who is alive can do this. No one can do this, only God. We can see all of God’s blessings within this. God granted them the unleavened bread which means that the mystery of all of God’s blessings within this. God was telling them the only way for them to receive blessings was if they discarded their old lives as slaves in Egypt. Then, they can celebrate the feast of the unleavened bread. God tells them to eat the bread. 

John 6:48, 51 “I am the bread of life. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” - Jesus was saying that bread is Him. God commanded them to eat the unleavened bread and the bread was Jesus Christ. This shows the great work and power of God the Creator. Jesus was saying that He is the bread of life and He will die for us. To eat that bread means eating the body of Jesus  Christ. Which means that God will grant us life. How do we eat the body of Jesus Christ? It is by holding onto the word of God. Why should we do this? 

John 6:51 - We can gain eternal life. We will receive absolute answers. 

3. What God has Prepared

(1) In a vision

Acts 16:9 “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us.’ ” - God always gave answers in advance. When we hold onto God’s word as our covenant then we will have victory. If we hold onto God’s answers in advance, then we will have victory. God has already given you an answer so if we hold onto it, then we will receive answers. 

(2) While searching for a place of prayer

Acts 16:14 “Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.” - While we are praying, God grants us blessings of meetings. God prepares all meetings for us. God blesses us so that we can go towards the absolute journeys for us. When we hold onto God’s covenant and pray, then God will guide us. There is no need for us to worry about the future or what you must do. God is already guiding us towards absolute journeys. Just pray about what blessings of meetings God will prepare for you. 

(3) While going to a place of prayer

Acts 16:18 “And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, ‘I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.’ And he came out that very hour.” - When we hold onto God’s covenant and pray, then God will show us that He is alive. God will show us the absolute guideposts. Enjoy these answers. There is nothing for us to worry about. 

Conclusion

Hold onto verse 20 - In our walk of faith, discard all of our distractions and in everything, seek after God’s word. There are answers within the word of God. When Luther held onto God’s word, darkness fled. May we receive this answer as people of God.
