그같이 행하여 이를 생기게 하려 하였으나 못 하였고 이가 사람과 가축에게 생긴지라 19 요술사가

바로에게 말하되 이는 하나님의 권능이니이다 하였으나 바로의 마음이 완악하게 되어 그들의 말을

듣지 아니하였으니 여호와의 말씀과 같더라” (출8:16-19) 

서론 Introduction

WRC 전도자의 고백을 듣는 중에 제 마음에 와닿는 대목이 있었다. “나는 왜 안되지? 나는 무엇을 해야 하지?” 하는 생각을 할때가 있다. 그런 생각 하는 것 자체가 속는것이다 하는 대목이었다. 사단은 가장먼저 나를 속인다. 그리고 우리 스스로 자신을 속인다. 그래서 문제, 갈등, 위기 올때 무너지게 되는것이다. 그런데 복음의 사람은 다르다. 문제, 갈등 위기 왔을때가 바로 가장 위대한 작품 만드는 때 인것을 안다. 내게 경제 문제가 왔다? 그것은 경제 문제 놓고 작품 만들 최고의 기회인것이다. 어떤 사람이 나를 괴롭힌다? 그 사람을 하나님의 작품으로 만들 기회인것이다. 요셉이 보디발을 작품으로 만들었다. 왕을 하나님의 작품으로 만들었다. 어떻게 하면 이렇게 작품으로 만드는가? 딱 한가지다. 하나님 주신 언약 잡고 24 할때 가능하다. 하나님께서 주신 언약의 말씀 놓고 기도 하게 될때 하나님께서는 살아계시는 증거 주신다. 살아계신 증거는 하나님이 말씀 통해 우리에게 주신다. 이것을 꼭 붙잡고 누리시는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 그런가운데 오늘 말씀 붙잡으시라. 

1. 세번째 재앙 The third plague

(1) 이 재앙 The lice plague

출 Exodus 8:16

16절 보면, “여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아론에게 명령하기를 네 지팡이를 들어 땅의 티끌을 치라 하라

그것이 애굽 온 땅에서 이가 되리라” 라고 말씀하고있다. 오늘 말씀은 세번째 재앙에 대한 말씀이다. “네 지팡이를 들어 땅의 티끌을 치라 하라 그것이 애굽 온 땅에서 이가 되리라” – 여기서 말하는 이 는 보통 우리가 알고있는 이 가 아니다. 원어를 보면 ‘킨님’ 이라고 하는데 이것은 이 뿐만 아니라 모기, 각다귀 같은것을 말한다. 각다귀는 한번 물리게 되면 크게 붓고 몇일동안 고생한다. 우리가 여름에 방 안에 모기 한마리만 들어와도 밤에 잠을 설치게 된다. 그래서 사람들이 모기를 피해서 모기장을 설치하기도 한다. 그런데 각다귀는 너무 작아서 사람의 머리털이나 옷, 눈, 귀, 콧구멍에까지 들어간다. 한번 물리고 나면 계속 고통 받는것이다. 이것을 하나님이 재앙의 도구로 사용 하신것이다. 어느정도로 사용 하셨는지 오늘 본문에서 볼수있다. “ 땅의 티끌을 치라 하라 그것이 애굽 온 땅에서 이가 되리라” 티끌 이라는 단어에 아팔 이라는 원어를 보면 먼지 라는 뜻이 있다. 창세기 2:8 “여호와 하나님이 동방의 에덴에 동산을 창설하시고 그 지으신 사람을 거기 두시고.”

(2) 이 재앙의 의미 The spiritual meaning of the lice plague

출 Exodus 8:17

땅의 흙 이라는 단어도 ‘아파르’ 라는 원어가 쓰였다. 우리를 만드셨을때 하나님이 먼지로 만드신것이다. 하나님께서 먼지 통해 또 이를 만드신것이다. 땅에 있던 이를 사용하신게 아니라 먼지를 통해 창조의 역사 일으키셨다. 창조의 역사 어느정도로 나타나는가. 온 땅에 먼지가 일었다는 말이다. 먼지 날리듯이 수만마리가 날라다니는것이다. 집이고 방이고 모든 장소에 날아들게 하셔 내가 창조의 하나님인것을 알게 하신것이다. 너희들이 받는 재앙은 나의 창조의 역사에 의한것이다 보여주신것이다. 17절, “그들이 그대로 행할새 아론이 지팡이를 잡고 손을 들어 땅의 티끌을 치매 애굽 온 땅의 티끌이 다 이가 되어 사람과 가축에게 오르니”. 이 세번째 재앙에서 특이한 점을 발견할수 있다. 첫번째, 두번째 재앙은 하나님이 미리 경고 하시고 내리셨다. 그런데 이번에는 경고도 없이 어마어마한 창조의 능력 일으켜서 내리셨다. 왜 그러셨는가? 출 8장에서 알수있다. 바로는 개구리 재앙때문에 고통 받아 모세를 불러 이 개구리를 떠나가게 하라 부탁했다. 백성을 보내준다는 바로의 약속을 믿고 모세는 하나님께 기도했고 모든 개구리가 죽었다. 그 이후에 다시 살만해지니까 바로의 마음이 다시 완악해 져 약속을 지키지 않았다. 사실 이것은 모세와 맺은 약속이 아니라 하나님과 한 약속인데 그것을 바로가 어긴것이다. 하나님은 약속을 어겨도 괜찮은 존재다 생각 한것이다. 하나님이 가장 싫어하시는 것이 약속을 어기는것이다. 그렇게 바로에게 경고도 없이 진노 하신것이다. 첫째, 둘째 재앙에는 몸에 직접적인 영향 없었지만 셋째 재앙부터 몸에 직접적인 해가 가해진것이다. 먼지같이 온 사방에 피해가 끼쳐진것이다. 바로가 믿는것은, 애굽 백성은 겜 이라는 땅의 신이 땅을 다스린다 믿었다. 애굽 사람들은 동산의 모양을 보고 바로 겜 신이 누워있는 모양이라 믿었다. 애굽 사람들은 겜 신이 땅에 드러누워 땅을 비옥하고 풍성하게 열매 맺게 살아서 역사 하고 있다 믿었다. 하나님 믿지 않는 사람들은 이렇듯 거짓을 믿으며 산다. 하나님은 보란듯이 그 땅을 치신다. 그 땅을 통해 먼지를 일으켜 이를 만드신것이다. 이 땅신이 네게 복을 준다고? 보란듯이 이것을 통해 애굽을 치신것이다. 땅이 복을 주는것이 아니라 땅 때문에 지금 어려움과 저주 받게 되는것을 보여주신것이다. 그들에게 또 이 땅 또한 나의 피조물에 지나지 않는다 보여주고 계신것이다. 전세계적으로 어떤 종류의 땅 신을 믿는다. 한국도 산신령 섬기고 비슷한 모양의 신을 전세계 여러 나라가 믿고있다. 그들 모두를 향해 그것은 신이 아니다, 그것또한 나 창조주 하나님의 피조물에 지나지 않는다 보이시는것이다. 

2. 흑암의 배경 The background of the forces of darkness

(1) 사단의 기적 Satan's miracle

출 Exodus 8:18

마 Matthew 24:24, 살후 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10, 욥 Job 2:7, 42:5-6

18절, “요술사들도 자기 요술로 그같이 행하여 이를 생기게 하려 하였으나 못 하였고 이가 사람과 가축에게 생긴지라”. 이번에도 역시 자신들의 능력으로 무엇인가 비슷하게 만들어보려 했는데 안되는것이다. 왜냐, 하나님이 창조의 역사를 일으켜 하신 일 이기 때문이다. 하나님의 능력은 무 에서 유 를 창조 한다. 사단은 아무리 재주를 부린다 하더라도 이 창조의 역사 만은 따라하지 못한다. 사단도 기행을 일으키지만 이 창조의 능력만은 없다. 마 24:24, “거짓 그리스도들과 거짓 선지자들이 일어나 큰 표적과 기사를 보여 할 수만 있으면 택하신 자들도 미혹하리라” 이 사람들은 기적과 표적을 일으키는데 그 목적이 바로 택하신 자들을 미혹 하기 위함 이라는 말이다. 살후 2:9-10 말씀 보면, “악한 자의 나타남은 사탄의 활동을 따라 모든 능력과 표적과 거짓 기적과 10 불의의 모든 속임으로 멸망하는 자들에게 있으리니 이는 그들이 진리의 사랑을 받지 아니하여 구원함을 받지 못함이라”. 사단이 행하는 모든 기적과 표적은 불의한 마음을 가지고 모든것을 파괴하기 위함 이다. 뿐만 아니다, 욥 2:7, “사탄이 이에 여호와 앞에서 물러가서 욥을 쳐서 그의 발바닥에서 정수리까지 종기가 나게 한지라” 사단은 욥에게 질병을 주어서 그를 무너트리려 했다. 이처럼 사단은 인간을 멸망시키고 파괴 시켜 하나님에게서 멀어지게 하는데에 목적이 있다. 그러면 우리가 어떻게 이를 해결하는가. 성경에서는 이에 대한 답을 말하고있다. 욥 Job 42:5-6, “내가 주께 대하여 귀로 듣기만 하였사오나 이제는 눈으로 주를 뵈옵나이다 6 그러므로 내가 스스로 거두어들이고 티끌과 재 가운데에서 회개하나이다” 우리가 승리하는 비결은 오직 살아계신 하나님 체험 하는것이다. 이것은 오직 말씀 통해서 가능하다. 말씀의 성취 통해 하나님의 살아계심을 체험 할수 있다. 6절, “그러므로 내가 스스로 거두어들이고 티끌과 재 가운데에서 회개하나이다” 우리가 실수 하고 넘어질수 있다. 그러나 이 모든 문제에서 승리 하기 위해서는 티끌과 재 가운데 하나님 앞에 회개하고 새출발 하는것이다. 우리가 말씀 붙잡고 기도 하게 되면 힘을 얻어 하나님 앞에서 새로운 시작 하게 되는것이다. 티끌과 재는 축복된 장소가 아닌 회개의 장소이다 라는 점에 조명해야겠다. 

(2) 바로의 완악함 Pharaoh's hardened heart

출 Exodus 8:19

출 Exodus 31:18, 시 Psalm 8:3, 롬 Romans 8:14

19절, “요술사가 바로에게 말하되 이는 하나님의 권능이니이다 하였으나 바로의 마음이 완악하게 되어 그들의 말을 듣지 아니하였으니 여호와의 말씀과 같더라” 요술사가 뭔가 깨달아서, 아, 이것은 하나님의 권능입니다 하고 바로에게 말하는것이다. 그런데 여기에 쓰인  “권능”은 - 에츠바 라는 원어를 사용했는데 여기에는 손가락 이라는 뜻이 있다. 그말은 하나님의 손가락 입니다 라는 뜻이다. 출 31:18 보면 하나님의 손가락으로 두 돌판에 말씀을 기록한 내용이 나온다. 시 8:3 보면, “주의 손가락으로 만드신 주의 하늘과 주께서 베풀어 두신 달과 별들을 내가 보오니” 이 손가락은 하나님의 창조의 권능을 나타내는것이다. 여기서 요술사들이 이것은 하나님만 하실수 있는 능력이다 깨달은것이다. 그런데 여기서 더 중요한것이 있다. 요술사들이 고백을 하면서도 깨달음으로 아, 이제 여호와 하나님을 믿겠다 하는 의미에서 한 말이 아니라 자신들이 애굽의 신들을 믿듯이 이스라엘도 이런 신을 참되게 믿고 있고 그 신이 우리의 신 보다 강하다 라고 인지 하는 의미로 한 말 인것이다. 여호와를 인정 하면서도 구원은 받지 못한것이다. 19절에 술사들의 말을 듣고도 바울의 마음이 여전히 완악해진것이다. 고통속에 회개를 하는것이 아니라 더욱 더 마음이 완악 해진 바로다. 다시 말하면 이스라엘의 신이 더 강하다는 술사들의 말에 분개하는데서 그친것이다. 악한 영에 빠진 사람들은 이렇듯 영적 사실 보지 못하고 더 악해진다. 이런 사람들 향해 불쌍히 여기는 마음 가져야겠다. 롬 8:14, 무릇 하나님의 영으로 인도함을 받는 사람은 곧 하나님의 아들이라 – 하나님 자녀로 악령의 인도 아닌 성령의 인도 받을 수 있다는 것이 얼마나 큰 축복인지 알아야겠다. 인도함을 받는 자는 곧 하나님의 아들이라 라고 선포 하고 있다. 그러면 어떻게 이런 축복을 우리가 받을 수 있었나. 오직 은혜로 이 엄청난 축복 받은것이다. 그렇다면 우리가 정확한 언약 붙잡고 말씀 따라 가야겠다. 

3. 정확한 언약 The accurate covenant

(1) 성취될 언약 The fulfilled covenant

사 Isaiah 40:8

먼저 성취될 언약 잡아야겠다. 사 40:8 말씀이다, “풀은 마르고 꽃은 시드나 우리 하나님의 말씀은 영원히 서리라 하라” 하나님이 주신 언약의 말씀은 영원히 성취 될 약속의 말씀이다. 영원한 언약 이기 때문에 언제 태어나고 언제 듣든 붙잡으면 성취 속에 있게 되는것이다. 1,000년 전에 태어난 사람이나 지금 태어난 사람이나 말씀 잡으면 성취속에 있는것이다. 살아계신 말씀 붙잡을때 성취 속에 있는것이다. 

(2) 성취될 때와 장소 Time and place of the fulfillment

왕상 1 Kings 19:35 

왕하 19:35, “이 밤에 여호와의 사자가 나와서 앗수르 진영에서 군사 십팔만 오천 명을 친지라 아침에 일찍이

일어나 보니 다 송장이 되었더라” 우리에게 위기가 닥칠수 있다. 어려움 올수가 있다. 어떤 위기가 온다 하여도 우리가 기도 통해 응답 받을 수 있다는 사실이다. 2,700 년 전에 히스기야에게만 주신 말씀이 아니라 지금을 사는 우리에게도 동일하게 역사하는 말씀이다. 우리가 기도하게 되면 가로막고 있는 흑암 역사 마저 결박, 정복된다. 

(3) 성취된 언약 속 In the fulfilled covenant

단 Daniel 3:17

두번째, 성취될 때와 장소 – 단 3:17, “왕이여 우리가 섬기는 하나님이 계시다면 우리를 맹렬히 타는 풀무불 가운데에서 능히 건져내시겠고 왕의 손에서도 건져내시리이다” 지금 사드락, 메삭, 아벳느고는 풀무불의 위기 속에 있는것이다. 믿음을 지키기 위해 이 풀무불 속으로 들어갔다. 하나님이 함께 하셔서 해를 당하지 않았다. 언약잡은 사람은 이런 불 가운데서도 불 같은 시험 속에서도 하나님이 지키시고 건지신다는 뜻이다. 이렇듯 하나님의 언약에 인도받고 말씀에 인도 받는것이 얼마나 중요한가 얼마나 복된것인가 알아야한다. 인간적인 방법으로 해결 할수 없다. 오직 언약 속에 있을때 그 문제가 해결된다. 

결론 Conclusion

단 Daniel 1:8

말씀 맺겠다. 단 1:8 ,”다니엘은 뜻을 정하여 왕의 음식과 그가 마시는 포도주로 자기를 더럽히지 아니하리라 하고 자기를 더럽히지 아니하도록 환관장에게 구하니”. 다니엘 뿐만 아니라 사드락, 메삭, 아벳느고가 승리 할수 있던 원인은 먼저 뜻을 정한것에 있다. 자기를 더럽히지 않기 위해 그러했다. 나는 악과 타협하지 않겠다, 나는 불의한 짓을 행하지 않겠다. 오직 하나님만 바라보겠다. 오직 언약속에서만 살겠다 — 이렇게 뜻을 정한것이다. 여기서부터 어마어마한 역사가 시작된것이다. 여러분들도 이렇게 뜻을 정할때 언약의 역사가 지금 일어날줄 믿는다. 어떤 문제, 위기 온다 해도 전혀 걱정 할것 없다. 하나님께서는 당신이 정하신 언약 성취 하시기 위해 여러분들을 보호하고 인도 하실것이다. 응답받는 여러분 되시기를 예수 그리스도 이름으로 축원한다. 

The Third Plague: Lice (Exodus 8:16-19)

16 So the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the land, so that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’ ” 17 And they did so. For Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and struck the dust of the earth, and it became lice on man and beast. All the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. 18 Now the magicians so worked with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not. So there were lice on man and beast. 19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, just as the Lord had said. 

Introduction

I listened to the life of an evangelist and I received a lot of grace. Why doesn’t it work out for me and what should I do now? Thinking like that means that you are being deceived. Satan attacks you first. And he will deceive you. So when problems and crises come to you, you end up breaking down. But people of the gospel, we are different. When problems and crises come to us, we use those as opportunities to make masterpieces. When a financial problem comes to you, God gave you that opportunity to make that financial problem into a masterpiece. Someone is tormenting you then God gave you that person so that you can make that person into a masterpiece. Joseph made Potiphar his masterpiece. God led Joseph to the king and made the king into his masterpiece. How can we make a masterpiece? We must hold onto God’s covenant 24/7. When we hold onto God’s covenant and pray, then God will give us living evidence. God will give us His evidence through His word. Hold onto and enjoy this. Hold onto today’s sermon with this heart and mindset. 

1. The Third Plague

(1) The lice plague

Verse 16 - Today’s sermon is about the third plague. When you strike the rod onto the ground, there will be lice on the ground. It says lice here but it is not really lice. It is gnats and mosquitos not completely lice. These bugs are small but if you get bitten by one, that area gets swollen and it will be painful for days. There was one mosquito in our rooms one night and it tormented us all night long so you can’t sleep properly. Many people were afraid of mosquitos so they would set up mosquito nets. But these mosquitos were so small that they would get caught in people’s hairs, be all around their faces, and even into their noses. When they bite, it would cause pain. God used this to cause a plague onto Egypt. God told Aaron to strike the land and the dust. It says in Genesis that God created mankind from the dust of the ground. This dust is also being used here too. Through this dust, God created this plague. In other words, when God created all things into this world, He created this world from the dust of the ground. From the book of Genesis, the dust created all forms of life in this world. The fact that dust covered this world means that these mosquitos were swarming all over the place. They were swarming everywhere and penetrating every corner. God was showing Pharaoh and Egypt that He was the Creator God. This plague that they were facing, this is the same work that He showed when He created the world. 

(2) The spiritual meaning of the lice plague

Verse 17 - The third plague, there is an interesting characteristic. The first and second plagues, God gave a warning before they happened. But this plague, God did not give them a warning and just struck Egypt with this plague. Why was that? When Pharaoh saw that all of the frogs were invading and swarming the entire land of Egypt and their homes, Pharaoh asked Moses to get rid of the frogs and then Pharaoh said that he will let the Israelites go and give worship. So, Moses trusted Pharaoh’s words and prayed to God to get rid of the frogs in which God did so. When the frogs disappeared, Pharaoh found relief and his heart hardened, and broke Moses’ promise. Pharaoh did not break a promise with Moses but actually with God. The fact that Pharaoh broke his promise with Moses means that Pharaoh was looking down on God and did not respect God at all. Pharaoh thought it was okay to break his promise with Moses and God. God hates when people break His promises. God was furious when He saw Pharaoh’s action. So, without any warning, He let down the plague completely onto Egypt full force. The first and third plague did not touch the bodies of the Egyptians and people but the third plague did attack people and it swarmed completely onto the people. Why did God allow the dust to hit the ground of Egypt? 

Pharaoh believed that there was a god of the land and Egyptians believed this land god formed all of their land, mountains, and everything. When you don’t believe in God, people are capable of making gods and idols out of everything. God was so furious that He stroked the entire land of Egypt. Through the dust of the ground, God bought a plague to hit Egypt. This land god that the Egyptians believed in, God was showing that this land god is nothing and will turn into a disaster for the Egyptians. This land did not produce any thing for Egypt anymore but it was causing more curse for Egypt. That is why God allowed this plague to strike Egypt. This land god, even many people who still believe in it. Even in Korea, there are people who believe in the mountain gods. There are other people who worship things of this land. But God was showing those things are not gods but He alone is the Creator God. 

2. The Background of the forces of darkness

(1) Satan's miracle

Verse 18 - The magicians tried to turn the dust into mosquitos but they couldn’t copy it. Why not? It was because God is the Creator God. God is a being who created everything out of nothing. Even if Satan tries to intervene and tries to mimic God, he cannot create but only is capable of destroying. Satan performs all of these signs to deceive mankind. 

Matthew 24:24 “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” - These false prophets were able to perform “miracles” but only performed them to deceive people. 

2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” - All miracles and signs that Satan performs, he uses them to deceive and destroy people. 

Job 2:7, 42:5-6 “So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. 42:5-6 I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. 6 Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.” - Satan attacked Job with a physical illness to destroy his faith. Satan attacked mankind with physical illnesses. Satan’s goal is to destroy mankind. Then, how can we solve this? The Bible gives us an answer. 

Job 42:5 - How can we have success? We need to experience the living God. How can we experience this living God? Through the word of God. Through the fulfillment of God’s word, we can experience God living. 

Job 42:6 -We may fall and make mistakes but in order to succeed in the midst of all problems, we must repent before God and have a new start. When we hold onto God’s word, gain new strength, and repent, then we can have a new start. The places of dust and ashes were not a place of problems but it was a time of repentance. 

(2) Pharaoh's hardened heart

Verse 19 - The fingers of God are showing the power of God. 

Exodus 31:18 “And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.” and Psalm 8:3 “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained.” - These fingers were showing the power of God and the power of creation by God. These magicians were acknowledging the power of God here. These magicians were acknowledging God but they were acknowledging that there is a God for the Israelites and Hebrews just like how they also have their own gods. But they acknowledged that the God of Hebrews was stronger than their gods. They said that through the works of the dust and ashes, they confessed that the God of Hebrews possesses the power of creation. Even though they acknowledged, they did not accept God. 

Verse 19 - Even though the magicians acknowledged God, Pharaoh did not. He had no heart of repentance and his heart hardened even more. Even though he was getting bit by mosquitos left to right, he did not give in nor repent. Instead, Pharaoh became more furious and his heart hardened more. Those who are bound by evil and darkness, then you will go deeper into darkness and wickedness. We must have pity on these people. 

Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” - As children of God, it is such a blessing that we are able to be guided by God and not by the guidance of evil. This is such a blessing. God is guiding us through His word and answers. Those who receive answers from God, we are able to proclaim that we are children of God. How did we receive these blessings? Only through God’s grace. This is so true. Truly give thanksgiving. We must hold onto God’s covenant. 

3. The Accurate Covenant

(1) The fulfilled covenant

Three covenants that we must hold onto. The covenant will be fulfilled, we must hold onto this covenant. 

Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” - God’s word will be fulfilled for eternity. This has been promised. God’s covenant is eternal so if we hold onto God’s covenant, then it will be fulfilled no matter what. The covenant that was held thousands of years ago was fulfilled. This same word of God will be fulfilled through us. Even the covenant in the future will be fulfilled no matter what. This is the power of God’s word. We must hold onto God’s living word and if we do so, then we will receive answers. 

(2) Time and place of the fulfillment

1 Kings 19:35 “And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.” - There may be a crisis or difficulties coming to us. No matter what crisis comes to us, we will receive answers when we pray. This was not the message that was just given to King Hezekiah years ago but this message has been to us as well. When we pray, then all darkness is bound and broken. 

(3) In the fulfilled covenant

Daniel 3:17 “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.” - The message that was given to Daniel’s three friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These three friends of Daniel were thrown into the fiery furnace. Because of their faith, they were thrown into the fiery furnace. But even though they were thrown there, they were not harmed. This was because God was with them. If you are within God’s covenant, then God will save you even if you are thrown into a fiery furnace. God will protect those who hold onto His covenant. It is so important for us to receive God’s guidance. It is such a blessing to be within God’s word. With worldly methods, we can’t solve anything. Only with God’s covenant can we solve all things. 

Conclusion

Daniel 1:8 “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” - Not only Daniel but his three friends succeeded because they made a resolution and had a purpose. They didn’t want to contaminate themselves. They resolved to not be defiled. They didn’t want to do anything to shame themselves. They resolved to look up to God alone. They resolved to stay inside of God’s covenant. From there, they received tremendous answers and miracles. May you also live with God’s purpose. No matter what crisis you face, it doesn’t matter. In order to fulfill God’s covenant, God will continue to protect and guide you. May you receive answers in the name of Jesus Christ.
