“다섯번째 재앙: 가축재앙”

여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 바로에게 들어가서 그에게 이르라 히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 내 백성을 보내라 그들이 나를 섬길 것이니라 2 네가 만일 보내기를 거절하고 억지로 잡아두면 3 여호와의 손이 들에 있는 네 가축 곧 말과 나귀와 낙타와 소와 양에게 더하리니 심한 돌림병이 있을 것이며 4 여호와가 이스라엘의 가축과 애굽의 가축을 구별하리니 이스라엘 자손에게 속한 것은 하나도 죽지 아니하리라 하셨다 하라 하시고 5 여호와께서 기한을 정하여 이르시되 여호와가 내일 이 땅에서 이 일을 행하리라 하시더니 6 이튿날에 여호와께서 이 일을 행하시니 애굽의 모든 가축은 죽었으나 이스라엘 자손의 가축은 하나도 죽지 아니한지라 7 바로가 사람을 보내어 본즉 이스라엘의 가축은 하나도 죽지 아니하였더라 그러나 바로의 마음이 완강하여 백성을 보내지 아니하니라 (출 9:1-7)

서론

제가 칼럼을 하나 읽었다. 수년전에 알래스카에 있는 유조선이 좌초가 된 적이 있었다. 이로 인해 수백만 배럴의 원유가 바다로 방출 되어 오염된 바다의 많은 생물들이 죽게 된 일이 있다. 그때 당시 어떤 사람들이 두마리의 죽어가던 물개를 발견했다고 한다. 그 죽어가는 물개들을 살리기 위해 각각 8만불씩 총 16만불 이나 들였다고 한다. 그렇게 살린 물개들을 다시 바다로 방류했다. 많은 사람들이 물개들이 다시 바다로 돌아가는 것을 구경하기 위해 모이게 되었다. 물개가 다시 건강하게 바다로 돌아가는 모습을 많은 사람들이 지켜보며 기뻐했다. 그런데 그 물개가 바다로 돌아가자 마자 커다란 범고래에게 잡아먹혀버렸다. 이를 지켜본 모든 사람들이 충격에 빠졌다. 이것은 무엇을 의미하는가? 인간의 노력은 물개 하나의 수명도 연장 시킬수가 없다는 사실이다. 동식물의 생명또한 하나님이 주관하시고 계신다 하는 사실이다. 우리의 생명, 모든것의 생명을 하나님께서 주관 하고 계신다는 사실을 우리가 기억해야겠다. 

1. 히브리 사람의 하나님 The God of the Hebrews

(1) 여호와 하나님 Jehovah God

출 Exodus 9:1

오늘 저희들에게 아주 중요한 말씀을 하나님이 우리에게 주고 계신다. 1절말씀 보겠다, “여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 바로에게 들어가서 그에게 이르라 히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 내 백성을 보내라 그들이 나를 섬길 것이니라”. 이 말씀 통해 우리가 주목해야 할 부분은 “히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 말씀 하시기를” 하는 대목이다. 히브리 사람 이라 함은 “강을 건너온 사람” 이라는 의미이다. 이 말에는 이스라엘 백성의 조상인 아브라함이 갈대야우르를 떠나 유브레데 강을 건너왔다는 뜻이 내포되어 있다. 바로 이 사실을 바로왕에게 알리라 하신것이다. 그말인즉, 원래 이스라엘 사람들은 노예가 아니었다 하는 사실을 알리라는 의미다. 원래 이들은 하나님의 부르심 받은 백성이다 – 하는 것을 말하는 것이다. 그러면서 이들이 나를 섬길것이라 하는 말씀이다. 그 부르심을 받은 여호와의 백성들이 나 여호와에게 예배 드릴것이다, 하는 의미이다. 나, 바로 여호와 하나님에게 예배를 드린다 – 라는 점을 강조 하고 계신것이다. 먼저 우리가 여호와 하나님의 참된 의미를 붙잡아야겠다. 이사야서 44:6 말씀 보게 되면, “이스라엘의 왕인 여호와, 이스라엘의 구속자인 만군의 여호와가 말하노라 나는 처음이요 나는 마지막이라 나 외에 다른 신이 없느니라”. 이 말씀을 우리가 꼭 붙잡아야한다. 이 말은, “나는 전능하신 하나님이다” 라는 의미이다. 온 우주의 왕 되시며 전능하신 하나님 이라는 의미다. 이어서 이스라엘의 구속자가 바로 나다 이 말씀하신다. 뿐만 아니라, 나는 처음이자 마지막 이라고 말씀 한다. 나는 바로 온우주 만물 창조한 창조주다 라고 선포 하시는것이다. “그리고 나 외에는 다른 신이 없다” –  나는 유일한 신 되며 나만이 참된 신이다 말씀 하시는 내용이다. 

(2) 악질 재앙 The plague of pestilence

출 Exodus 9:2-3

그런 여호와 하나님이 지금 2-3절에 말씀 하시는것이다. “네가 만일 보내기를 거절하고 억지로 잡아두면 3 여호와의 손이 들에 있는 네 가축 곧 말과 나귀와 낙타와 소와 양에게 더하리니 심한 돌림병이 있을 것이며”. 그 유일하신 여호와 하나님이 명령 하셨음에도 계속 내 백성 보내기를 거절한다면 심한 돌림병을 주어 벌할것이라는 말씀이다. 첫번째, 두번째, 세번째 – 재앙이 계속 되면서 점점 가중되어지는 것을 볼수있다. 지금까지는 육체적으로만 힘들었는데 이제는 재산에 까지도 영향이 갈것이다 이 말이다. 여기서 가축을 죽이겠다 라고 말씀 하시고있다. 왜 가축을 죽이려 하시는가. 바로나 애굽 사람들은 하나님 믿을 생각은 하지 않고 계속해서 그 피조물을 숭배하니 그것들을 다 내가 파괴하겠다라는 말씀이다. 애굽 사람들은 가축 가운데도 황소를 “아피스” 라는 풍요의 신으로 섬기며 살았다. 암소의 신도 따로 있었다. 암소 신은 “하토르” 라는 이름을 붙여서 그를 믿으면 아름다워지며 또 사랑도 준다 믿었다. 이들은 또 염소 신도 믿었다. 하나님은 이 모습을 보시며 한탄하시고 이 가축들을 모두 심판 하시겠다 말씀 하신다. 가축들을 죽임으로 애굽 사람들이 믿고 의지하는 가축 신들에게 사형선고를 내리시는 것이다. 너희가 섬기는 이 피조물들이 너희를 살리고 풍요를 주는것이 아니다 라고 보여주시는것이다. 죽이고 살리는것은 내가 주관하는 일이지 감히 짐승따위가 할 수 있는 일이 아니다 말씀 하시는 것이다. 이렇게 다섯가지 짐승을 없애신다: 말, 나귀, 낙타, 소, 양. 이 동물들은 모두 애굽이 귀중하게 여기는 가축들 이었다. 당시 말은 전쟁에 유용하게 쓰이는 동물이었고, 나귀는 짐을 나르는데 유용한 이송수단 이었다. 또 낙타는 장거리 이동의 필수 수단 이었고, 소는 농사에 있어서는 없어서 안될 동물이었다. 마지막으로 양은 여러 먹을것을 제공해주었다. 하나님께서는 애굽 사람들이 귀하게 여기는 가축을 치시면서 너희들이 신으로, 우상으로 여기는 재산, 그것또한 내가 없애겠다 하시는것이다. 

그렇게 다섯번째 재앙 통해 그들의 경제와 군사력과 통치력과 생활이 전부 무너지게 되는것이다. 우리는 부강한 나라야 자랑하던 애굽 사람들에게 다섯번째 재앙 통해 타격을 입게 하셨다. 하나님 말고 다른것을 쫒게 되면, 바로 그것 때문에 멸망한다 라는 것을 보여주신것이다. 

2. 하나님의 구별 God's Distinction

(1) 이스라엘에 속한 것 All that belongs to the children of Israel

출 Exodus 9:4-5

삼상 1 Samuel 15:29

그런데 하나님께서 4절에 중요한 말씀 하신다, “여호와가 이스라엘의 가축과 애굽의 가축을 구별하리니 이스라엘 자손에게 속한 것은 하나도 죽지 아니하리라 하셨다 하라 하시고”, 하나님께서 지금 재앙을 내리시는데, 이스라엘은 구분 하겠다 하시는 말씀이다. 다시말해 이스라엘 백성들의 가축은 내가 구별 하겠다 하는 말씀이다. 이것은 아주 중요한 메시지다. 이스라엘 백성의 가축들은 생명이 보장 된것이다. 반대로 이스라엘의 가축이 아니면 심판이 임할것이다 라는 말씀이다. 여기서 구분은 하나님의 백성이냐 아니냐 하는 차이이다. – 하나나님의 백성이라면 그의 소유물까지도 보호를 받는것이다. 반대로 세상백성은 그 소유까지도 재앙을 받게 되는것이다. 하나님의 백성인 이스라엘은 본인 뿐만 아니라 그의 소유까지 복을 받게 되는것이다. 내가 하나님의 보호 받는 백성이면 나의 가정, 사업 까지도 하나님께서 보호 하신다는 것을 의미한다. 주 예수를 믿게 되면 그와 그 가정을 보호 하시는 원리가 이당시도 적용이 된것을 볼수있다. 이 언약 분명히 잡으시라. 5절에 “여호와께서 기한을 정하여 이르시되 여호와가 내일 이 땅에서 이 일을 행하리라 하시더니”, 6절에 “ 이튿날에 여호와께서 이 일을 행하시니 애굽의 모든 가축은 죽었으나 이스라엘 자손의 가축은 하나도 죽지 아니한지라”. 하셨다. 모든 가축이 다 죽었다 했다. 하나님은 말씀하신 그대로 반드시 성취 하신다는 사실을 붙잡아야겠다. 왜 그러한가? 하나님은 살아계신 하나님 이시기 때문이다. 지금도 하나님께서 주신 말씀은 그대로 성취 된다 – 지금도 살아 역사하시기 때문이다. 그래서 지금 주시는 말씀을 나에게 주시는 언약의 성취될 말씀으로 잡으면 되는것이다. 이것은 3,500년 전에 모세에게 주신 말씀이다 정도로 받으면 소용이 없다. 이 진리의 말씀이 바로 내게 지금 깨달으라 주시는 말씀이구나, 깨닫고 붙잡는 순간 내 삶에 성취된다. 삼상 15:29, “이스라엘의 지존자는 거짓이나 변개함이 없으시니 그는 사람이 아니시므로 결코 변개하지 않으심이니이다 하니”. 하나님 말씀은 절대로 변하지 아니 하신다. 그렇게 하시겠다 약속 하시고 이행하지 않으시는 일은 없을것이다 하는 말이다. 인간이라면 그 마음이 바뀔수 있다. 그러나 하나님은 인간이 아니신것이다. 그렇기 때문에 하신 말씀은 반드시 성취 된다. 우리는 이 영적사실을 붙잡을 필요 있다. 

(2) 바로의 현장확인 Pharaoh's Confirmation in the Field

출 Exodus 9:7

창 Genesis 3:5, 잠 Proverbs 19:23

그렇다면 반드시 이루실 이 말씀 붙들고 우리가 7절 말씀 통해 두가지 영적사실 확실히 보아야겠다, “바로가 사람을 보내어 본즉 이스라엘의 가축은 하나도 죽지 아니하였더라 그러나 바로의 마음이 완강하여 백성을 보내지 아니하니라”. 이 말씀 가운데 우리가 첫번째로 잡을 영적 사실이다 – 바로가 사람을 보내 확인해보니 고센땅에는 가축이 정말로 한마리도 죽지 않은것이다. 하나님이 말씀하신 그대로 성취 된것이다. 그렇다면 여기서 우리가 붙잡을 것이 무엇인가? 왜 그 가축들까지 하나님이 보호 하셨을까? 이것을 통해 하나님께서 가장 중요하게 여기시는 영적사실을 우리가 붙잡아야겠다. 그 가축이 복을 받은 이유는 바로 이들이 하나님의 언약을 잡은 자들의 소유 였기 때문이다. 그 주인이 언약의 백성인가 아닌가 유무에 따라 그 가축의 생사가 결정 된것이다. 이것은 대단히 중요한 말씀이다. 내가 언약 붙잡고 사는가 아닌가 하는 사실 여부에 따라 모든것이 결정된다. 이것에 대해 어떻게 느끼시는가. 여러분은 지금 이 언약 붙잡고 계시는가. 그렇다면 나의 사업과 나의 가정의 미래는 하나님이 보호하실 줄을 믿는다. 바로 이것은 하나님이 언약하신것 이기 때문에 그렇다. 언약 안에 있는 사람은 고센땅의 축복 누리는 것이다. 하나님의 절대 보호아래 있기 때문에 그렇다. 이 사실 붙잡고 누리시는 여러분 되기 바란다. 하나님이 주신 두번째 영적사실이다. 바로는 이 사실을 확인 하기 위해 자기 부하를 보냈고 실제로 고센땅의 가축이 해를 입지 않은것을 확인했다. 이 말인즉, 바로는 자기가 믿는 신은 여호와 하나님에 비해 무능하다 라는것을 체험 한것이다. 분명히 이것을 위해 자기가 믿는 신에게 가서 빌었을것이다. 그러나 아무 효과가 없었다. 그런데 이러한 사실을 보았다면 하나님 앞에 무릎 꿇어야 할텐데 바로의 마음이 오히려 마음이 다시 완강해 져서 백성들을 보내지 않았다. 그 이유가 뭔가? 그는 여전히 자신을 태양신의 아들 스스로 살아있는 신으로 여긴것이다. 어떻게 이렇게 스스로 생각하는가? 이는 창세기 3:5, “너희가 그것을 먹는 날에는 너희 눈이 밝아져 하나님 같이 되어” 이와같이 흑암에 붙잡힌 상태가 되어 사단에게 미혹되고 마취된 상태가 된것이다. 흑암에 잡히니 눈이 멀어 가축이 어떻게 된들 제대로 볼수 없는것이다. 마음이 완악하게 된것도, 내가 애굽의 신인데 이런 일을 당한것에 그저 분개하는 마음만이 남은것이다. 이것이 영적인것 모르는 사람의 고집이고 망할수 밖에 없는 자의 모습이다. 이 망할자의 모습을 보고 우리는 잠언서 19:23 의 말씀을 잡아야겠다, “여호와를 경외하는 것은 사람으로 생명에 이르게 하는 것이라 경외하는 자는 족하게 지내고 재앙을 당하지 아니하느니라”. 여러분, 하나님을 경외 한다는것은 살아계신 하나님을 믿는다는 말이다. 우리에게 가장 중요한 신앙은, 지금도 살아계셔 함께 하시는 하나님을 믿는것이다. 나의 모든 앉고 섬과 말하는것, 모든 기도 듣고 계시고 생사화복 주관하심을 믿는것이다. 내가 말하고 듣고 하는 모든것 다 듣고 주관하고 계심을 믿는것이다. 그러면 모든 중심을 하나님께 맞추며 바라보는것이다. 이런 사람은 생명에 이르는 축복을 받게 된다. 족하게 지낸다는 말은 경제적으로도 어려움을 당하지 않는것을 말한다. 재앙을 면하게 된다는 말이다. 하나님께서 책임지고 보호 하시기 때문이다. 이것은 변치 않는 하나님의 말씀이다. 지금 하나님이 중대한 메시지를 여러분에게 주시고 계신다. 이 응답 받으시는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 

3. 부르심을 받은 자녀 Children who have been called

(1) 원인을 알고 기도 Prayer with the knowledge of reason

겔 Ezekiel 3:3

그러면 부르심 받은 자녀는 어떻게 해야하나. 이 모든것의 원인을 알고 기도 하는것이다. 겔 3:3, “내게 이르시되 인자야 내가 네게 주는 이 두루마리를 네 배에 넣으며 네 창자에 채우라 하시기에 내가 먹으니 그것이 내 입에서 달기가 꿀 같더라”. 하나님의 약속의 말씀, 언약의 말씀을 우리가 각인 시켜야 하는것이다. 말씀을 누려야한다. 하나님 말씀은 반드시 성취된다는 사실 잡을때 말씀이 꿀송이 같이 다가올것이다. 살아계신 말씀으로 받을때 말씀 성취의 역사 속에 있게 된다. 

(2) 위기에 빠진자 Those who are in crisis

겔 Ezekiel 33:7

두번째, 위기에 빠진자 이다. 겔 33:7, “인자야 내가 너를 이스라엘 족속의 파수꾼으로 삼음이 이와 같으니라 그런즉 너는 내 입의 말을 듣고 나를 대신하여 그들에게 경고할지어다”. 내가 말씀 붙들고 성취될 사실을 누리며 파수꾼의 사명 감당하는것이다. 말씀을 듣지 않고 대적하는 자 에게 경고하라 하는 말이다. 그 하나님이 정말로 살아계셔서 너의 이야기 다 듣고 계시고 보고 계신다 전하라는 말이다. 이러한 사람들은 그 재앙 가운데서 빠져 나갈수 있다 하신다. 

(3) 죽어가는 자 Those who are dying

겔 Ezekiel 37:7, 10

겔 37:7, “이에 내가 명령을 따라 대언하니 대언할 때에 소리가 나고 움직이며 이 뼈, 저 뼈가 들어 맞아 뼈들이 서로 연결되더라 “ 이 말씀의 능력 믿으시는가. 여러분이 이 말씀 전할때 그 사람들의 영혼이 살아난다. 뼈가 하나 하나 맞춰가듯이 맞게된다. 이 축복 정말로 누리시기를 바란다. 또 이어서 10절, “이에 내가 그 명령대로 대언하였더니 생기가 그들에게 들어가매 그들이 곧 살아나서 일어나 서는데 극히 큰 군대더라”. 우리가 말씀 잡고 – 성령의 능력 의지 하며, 성령의 충만함 주옵소서, 성령의 능력으로 감당케 하소서 – 기도할때 성령께서 역사하신다. 그러면 틀림없이 오순절 마다가락방의 성령의 역사가 여러분통해 나타날 줄을 믿는다. 아무리 연약하고 힘 없는 사람이라도 하나님 의지 하고 말씀 잡고 기도로 나가게 되면 이런 축복의 역사가 나타난다. 이것은 하나님의 약속이다. 약속의 말씀을 주셨다. 이것을 믿고 나의 언약으로 잡게 될때 동일한 역사가 여러분 삶에 나타날 줄을 믿는다. 

결론 Conclusion

겔 Ezekiel 47:8

말씀 맺겠다. 겔 47:8, “그가 내게 이르시되 이 물이 동쪽으로 향하여 흘러 아라바로 내려가서 바다에 이르리니 이 흘러 내리는 물로 그 바다의 물이 되살아나리라”. 말씀과 기도 통해 죽었던 모든것이 회복 된다는 말씀이 다시 한번 반복 되는 것이다. 불가능이 가능으로 바뀌어지는 놀라운 역사가 말씀을 통해 임할줄을 믿는다. 주신 말씀을 내 언약의 말씀으로 붙잡을때 그 말씀 통해 내가 살아나는 역사가 임한다. 이 축복 받는 여러분 되시기를 예수님 이름으로 축원한다.

1 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh and tell him, ‘Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me. 2 For if you refuse to let them go, and still hold them, 3 behold, the hand of the Lord will be on your cattle in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the oxen, and on the sheep—a very severe pestilence. 4 And the Lord will make a difference between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt. So nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel.” ’ ” 5 Then the Lord appointed a set time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land.” 6 So the Lord did this thing on the next day, and all the livestock of Egypt died; but of the livestock of the children of Israel, not one died. 7 Then Pharaoh sent, and indeed, not even one of the livestock of the Israelites was dead. But the heart of Pharaoh became hard, and he did not let the people go. 

Introduction

There was a news article that I read and in Alaska many years back, a ship that was carrying oil had spilled into the ocean. Because of that many sea marine life died and got affected. But they found two seals and in order to save each seal, it would cost approximately 80K per seal. They rescued the seals and released them into a clean area of water. Many people came to visit and see these rescued seals being released into the ocean. These seals were being released into the ocean so many people came to celebrate. But the moment these seals were released into the ocean, a huge orca came and ate these two seals. What does all of this mean? The efforts of people could not save these seals and only God is in control of life and death. God is in control of all things and we must hold onto this fact. Today’s sermon is very important that God has given to us. 

1. The God of the Hebrews

(1) Jehovah God

Verse 1 - It is written that God was the God of Hebrew. The people of Hebrew were referring to the people who crossed the river. This means that these people of Hebrew were the descendants of Abraham and who crossed the Euphrates River. This is showing that the Israelites were not originally slaves of Egypt but they were chosen people of God. They were chosen people of God who were called to serve God. This means that these chosen people of God were called to worship God. God is emphasizing that these people of God are His people to worship Him. 

Isaiah 44:6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.” - We must hold onto this scripture. The God of Israel means that He is the Almighty God. He is the God who created the entire Earth and the Creator God. God is the redeemer and He is the Host. He is the beginning and the end. This means that He is the Creator God. There is no other God except Him which means that He is the one and only true God. Everything else is God’s creation and He is the only one Creator. 

(2) The plague of pestilence

Verses 2-3 - Even though God commanded Pharaoh to let His people go, if Pharaoh refuses then God warned that a severe pestilence will come upon Egypt. As we saw all of the past plagues, the plagues are getting more and more severe. Until now, the plagues were physically affecting Egypt but now these plagues are affecting life in Egypt. Why was God affecting the way Egypt can live? This was because Egypt relied on livestock and material things as their gods and ways of life. The Egyptians would worship bulls and cows as their gods. Also they worshiped the cow goddess and if they worshiped this god, they believed that they will become more beautiful and love will find them. They were also worshiping goats and when God saw all of this, God was furious and put His judgment on Egypt. These idols of Egypt were being destroyed by God but these gods were seen as a lifeline for Egypt and the Egyptians. God was showing that these idols and gods are nothing before Him. God was also showing that only God can decide who lives and who dies. 

In the scripture, we see these livestocks such as horses, donkeys, camels, oxen, and sheep. Horses are very valuable livestock, you can use them during wars. Donkeys are used for transportation, camels for long distance travel, oxen for farming, and sheep for food. God was saying that these livestock that they saw as their valuable items in their life, God was saying that He was going to get rid of all of them and destroy them. Through these five plagues, we can see that life in Egypt was being destroyed. These Egyptians would boast that they were a very powerful nation but we can see that through each plague, Egypt was being destroyed slowly. When you worship other things other than God, God will destroy it. 

2. God's Distinction

(1) All that belongs to the children of Israel

Verse 4 - God was showing a clear distinction between Egypt and Israel. God was saying that He will protect all of the livestock in Israel. If you are not an Israelite or part of Israel, then God will destroy it. What was the distinction of God? If you are a person of God, God will protect you and even your livestock. We can see that God was going to destroy the livestock of people who are not an Israelite. If you are a person of God, then God will protect everything, your family, your business, and your job. Hold onto this covenant. 

Verses 5-6 - God appointed a time and He completed this the next day. That next day, all of the livestock of Egypt died. If God says something, God will absolutely fulfill it. This shows that God is alive. Even now, God’s word will be fulfilled no matter what. This is because God’s word is living and active. Hold onto this. If you hold onto God’s word as God’s covenant, then it will be fulfilled. If you take God’s word as just the word of the past then God’s word will have nothing to do with you. But if you take the word of God as God’s word for you, then God’s word will be fulfilled through you. 

1 Samuel 15:29 “And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.” - God’s word will never change. If God says that He will do something, then He will do it. Only men will change their minds. But God does not do that. God will absolutely fulfill His word. We must hold onto the spiritual facts. 

(2) Pharaoh's confirmation in the field

Verse 7 - The first spiritual fact that we must hold onto is that not even one livestock of Israel was killed and pharaoh went to verify this. Pharaoh went to go to Goshen and he was able to verify that none of Israelites’ livestock died. This was exactly as God’s word was proclaimed. We need to know why none of Israelites’ livestock and nothing in Israel was harmed or destroyed. This was because the Israelites were the people of the covenant. Life or death will be determined by who your master is. Whether you hold onto God’s covenant or not will determine your future and your life. What do you think about this? Are you holding onto God’s covenant? If you are holding onto God’s covenant, then your life and future will be protected by God. Your business and job will be protected by God. Because all of this is within God’s covenant. If you are holding onto God’s covenant then God’s protection of Goshen will be upon you. 

The second spiritual fact was that the pharaoh sent his person to verify if nothing was killed in Israel and he was able to verify that nothing was killed indeed. Pharaoh was able to confirm that his gods were nothing and powerless to the God of Hebrews. He realized that this didn’t matter to him. In order to live, pharaoh had to kneel before God. But what did pharaoh do? He hardened his heart and did not let the people of Israel go. Why didn’t he let the people of Israel go? He truly believed that he was the son of the Sun god and that he was a god himself. 

Why was pharaoh like that? Genesis 3:5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” - He was completely bound by Satan. It was very unfortunate. Since he was bound by Satan, it didn’t matter that Egypt and Egyptians were going to die because of him. What did pharaoh care about? That he was the god of Egypt and his ego was more important. We can see the similar characteristics of people who fail and these people are stubborn. 

People who fail, we need to hold onto and remember Proverbs 19:23 “The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil.” - Fearing God means that you are believing in a God who is alive. The most important walk of faith is believing that God who is within us is alive and working within us. God is listening to all of our prayers and is in control of all things. All the things that we say and think, God knows all things. We live our life knowing this. If we live like this, then we will be blessed. Financially listening, you will find peace. God will take responsibility over you and protect you. This is the word of God who never changes. Hold onto this. May you receive this answer. 

3. Children Who Have Been Called

(1) Prayer with the knowledge of reason

Hold onto Ezekiel 3:3 “And He said to me, ‘Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.’ So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness.” - The covenant and promise of God, we must imprint it within our hearts. We are enjoying God’s word. We are holding onto that God’s word will be fulfilled in our lives and if we believe in this, then the word of God will taste like honey. 

(2) Those who are in crisis

Ezekiel 33:7 “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.” - When we hold onto God’s word and believe that it will be fulfilled, then we can stand as God’s watchman. We are warning people around us and telling people to believe in God as God’s watchman. As God’s watchman, we are able to come out of disasters. 

(3) Those who are dying

Ezekiel 37:7, 10 “So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.” - Do you believe in the power of the word of God? When you proclaim the word of God, a person’s soul is revived. When we proclaim the word of God, bones and life become alive. 

Ezekiel 37:10 - When we hold onto God’s word and pray, then the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon us. The filling of the Holy Spirit comes upon us and we can experience the power of the Holy Spirit. The same power of the Holy Spirit that came upon Mark’s upper room will come upon us. No matter how weak and lacking we are, if we rely on God, hold onto God’s word and go out, then God’s power will come upon us. This is God’s promise to us. God has given us His word and promise. The same great works will take place in our lives. 

Conclusion

Hold onto Ezekiel 47:8 “Then he said to me: ‘This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed.’ ” - Through the word of God and prayer, all things will be restored in our lives. And healing will come upon our lives. Just like how when the water reaches the sea, all things are revived. When the word of God enters our lives and we hold onto it and believe in it, then great works will arise in our lives.
