“이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅을 떠난 지 삼 개월이 되던 날 그들이 시내 광야에 이르니라 2 그들이 르비딤을 떠나 시내 광야에 이르러 그 광야에 장막을 치되 이스라엘이 거기 산 앞에 장막을 치니라 3 모세가 하나님 앞에 올라가니 여호와께서 산에서 그를 불러 말씀하시되 너는 이같이 야곱의 집에 말하고 이스라엘 자손들에게 말하라 4 내가 애굽 사람에게 어떻게 행하였음과 내가 어떻게 독수리 날개로 너희를 업어 내게로 인도하였음을 너희가 보았느니라 5 세계가 다 내게 속하였나니 너희가 내 말을 잘 듣고 내 언약을 지키면 너희는 모든 민족 중에서 내 소유가 되겠고 6 너희가 내게 대하여 제사장 나라가 되며 거룩한 백성이 되리라 너는 이 말을 이스라엘 자손에게 전할지니라” (출 19:1-6)

영국의 심리학자인 제임스 헤드필드라는 사람이 있다. 원래 목사님이셨는데 심리학자가 되었다. 이 사람이 연구 중에 중요한 말을 했다. “두려움과 의심은 모든 에너지를 막는다. 그런데 두려움과 의심을 제거하는 것은 스스로의 자신감이다.” 또 이 사람은 정신적 에너지의 영향력에 대해 말했다. 어떤 일을 만났을 때, 나는 불가능해, 나는 못해 이런 생각을 하면 실제 자기 능력의 능률이 30%밖에 나오지 않는다고 주장했다. 그런데 반대로, 나는 뭐든지 가능해, 할 수 있어라고 생각하면 자기 능력을 능가해 500%의 능률이 나온다고 주장한다. 그러면서 덧붙이기를, 나는 못하지만 내 안에 하나님이 모든 것을 하실 수 있다고 생각하면 무한대의 에너지가 나온다고 했다. 그러면서 빌 4:13 말씀을 인용했다, “내게 능력 주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라” 영적인 사실을 정말로 아는 사람 같다. 우리는 비록 연약하고 무능하지만 하나님께서는 모든 것을 할 수 있다. 그 하나님에 대해 우리가 말씀을 받겠다. 

1. 제사장 나라의 백성 The People of a Kingdom of Priests

(1) 시내광야에 도착 Arrival in the Wilderness of Sinai

출 Exodus 19:1-2

출 Exodus 3:14

본문 1절 말씀을 보면, “이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅을 떠난 지 삼 개월이 되던 날 그들이 시내 광야에 이르니라” 라고 나온다. 애굽 땅을 떠난 지 3개월이 되었다는 말은, 그동안 출발해서 시내광야에 오기까지 약 2개월이 걸렸다는 말이다. 이 기간 동안 수많은 사건이 생겼다. 그 2개월 동안 하나님이 어떠한 일을 하셨는가? 여호와가 어떤 분인지 스스로 알리시는 일을 하셨다. 하나님께서는 모세를 애굽으로 보내기 전에 먼저 스스로에 대해 말씀하셨다. 하나님이 누구냐고 물으면 뭐라고 할까요? 모세가 물었다. 이에 하나님은 나는 스스로 있는 자다, 스스로 있는 자가 말했다 하라 하신다. 바로 여호와 하나님 되심을 말씀하신 것이다. 모세가 애굽에 도착해서 출애굽하기까지 스스로 있는 자, 여호와 하나님이 어떤 분이 되시는지 계속해서 말씀하시는 것을 볼 수가 있다. 다시 말해, 이 스스로 있는 자를 가르키는 일들이 그동안 일어난 것이다. 

열 가지를 이야기하신다. 첫 번째로 모세가 행한 열 가지 재앙을 통해 스스로 신들 중의 참신 유일한 되심을 보이시고 애굽의 모든 거짓 신과 바로 왕을 꺾으신다. 유월절 양의 피를 통해 구원을 보여 주시며 구원의 하나님 되심을 보였다. 홍해를 가르심으로 천지만물 주관하심을 보이셨으며 구름기둥, 불기둥으로 이스라엘 백성들을 인도하며 항상 보호하시는 하나님 되심을 보였다. 마라, 쓴 물을 달게 바꾸시며 치유하시는 하나님 되심을 알리셨고 만나와 메추라기를 통해 공급의 하나님 되심을 보이셨다. 또 반석에서 샘이 솟아나게 하심을 통해 생명의 주관자 되심을 보이셨다. 또 전쟁을 주관하는 지휘관 되심을 알리셨다. 오늘은 온 세상의 주관자 되심을 말씀하시는 것이다. 이렇게 열 가지의 사건을 통해 하나님 본인이 어떤 분이 되심을 알리셨다. 그런 하나님이 우리의 하나님이다. 다시 말해 이스라엘을 보호하고 역사하셨듯이 지금도 우리에게 동일하게 역사하신다. 스스로 있는 자가 누구냐고 물을 때 이 열 가지를 행하신 분임을 우리가 말할 수 있다. 바로 이 하나님이 나의 하나님이 되시는 사실을 꼭 붙잡으시라. 이스라엘의 하나님뿐만 아니라 나의 문제를 해결하실 하나님이 되심을 알고 믿어야겠다. 

그런데 이 과정 속에 하나님이 이스라엘을 시험하신 사건이 나온다. 마라에서 시험하시고 16장에 만나와 메추라기로 시험하신다. 시험을 겪을 때마다 이스라엘 백성들은 원망과 불평을 했다. 하나님이 왜 이런 시험 하셨는가. 이 시험을 통해 너희들이 원래 각인된 너희의 본성에서 헤어나오지 못하고 있다고 보여주신 것이다. 다시 말해 하나님을 만났음에도 창 3장의 옛 각인, 우상 숭배하는 본성을 여전히 가지고 산다는 말이다. 다시 말해 내가 하나님 자녀가 되었는데도 옛날 습성을 그대로 가지고 살고 있다는 말이다. 그것을 깨닫게 하시기 위해 하나님은 광야로 인도하신다. 왜 그렇게 하셨는가? 근본적으로 이 문제를 해결해 주시기 위함이다. 

(2) 독수리 날개로 인도 Bore you on eagles’ wings

출 Exodus 19:3-4

신  Exodus 32:11-12

오늘 3-4절에 놀라운 말씀을 하신다. 광야에서 너희를 치유할 것인데, 그러려면 내 말을 잘 듣고 구하라라고 말하는 것이다. 그러시면서 4절에 부터 말씀 하신다, “내가 애굽 사람에게 어떻게 행하였음과 내가 어떻게 독수리 날개로 너희를 업어 내게로 인도하였음을 너희가 보았느니라” 갑자기 독수리를 언급 하신다. 독수리는 동물 중에도 모성애가 가장 강한 동물로 알려져 있다. 독수리의 모성애가 어떤지 신명기 32:11-12 에 나온다,  “마치 독수리가 자기의 보금자리를 어지럽게 하며 자기의 새끼 위에 너풀거리며 그의 날개를 펴서 새끼를 받으며 그의 날개 위에 그것을 업는 것 같이 12 여호와께서 홀로 그를 인도하셨고 그와 함께 한 다른 신이 없었도다” 독수리는 자기 새끼 키울때 어느정도 자라면 일부로 낭떠러지로 데리고 가서 떨어트린다. 그렇게 새끼 독수리는 떨어지지 않으려 안간힘을 쓰며 날갯짓을 하고 떨어지기 직전에 어미 독수리가 다시 낚아챈다. 그 과정을 여러 번 반복한다. 이렇게 하는 이유는 새끼 독수리를 강하게 하기 위해, 새중에 가장 강한 새다 각인 시기키 위함이다. 이것은 독수리가 자기 새끼를 사랑하는 방법이다. 그렇게 하나님은 이스라엘을 독수리 새끼처럼 인도하셨다. 가나안 땅으로 바로 인도하지 않으시고 광야로 인도하신다. 홍해도 건너고 마라의 쓴물도 맛보게 하시고 갈증도 일으키시고 전쟁도 겪게 하신다. 왜 그렇게 하시는가? 이스라엘 백성들을 사랑하시기 때문이다. 강한 백성으로 만드시기 위함인 것이다. 내가 너희를 얼마나 사랑하는지 아느냐 하시는 사랑의 표현 인것이다. 사실은 이것보다 더 중요한 이유가 있다. 하나님은 문제 생길 때마다 해결해 주시면서 그 문제로 인해 바로 그리스도만이 해답임을 각인시키신다. 홍해를 건너가게 하시며 너희는 그리스도 안에 있어야 산다 깨닫게 하시고 마라의 쓴물에 나뭇가지를 담금으로 십자가만 붙들면 너희 인생이 바뀐다 각인시키셨다. 또 반석을 지팡이로 치니 샘물이 솟아났다. 그리스도께서 십자가에서 흘리신 피로 너희가 살게 될것이다 보여주신것이다. 아말렉과의 전쟁에서 모세가 지팡이와 두 팔을 들게 하셨다. 이로 너희가 대적을 이기고 흑암을 이기는 길은 그리스도를 붙잡는 것이라고 각인하셨다. 모든 것의 해답은 그리스도 되심을 보여주신 것이다. 그러면 우리가 잡을 것은 무엇인가? 어떤 문제에 당면한들 오직 그리스도를 붙잡으면 거기에 해답이 있다는 것이다. 온천지만물 주관하신 하나님이 말씀하시기를 그리스도를 붙잡아라, 오직 그리스도만이 해답이다 말씀하시는 것이다. 

2. 하나님 나라의 백성 The People of the Kingdom of God

(1) 언약받는 이스라엘 백성 Israel Receives the Covenant

출 Exodus 19:5-6

오늘 본문 5절에 중요한 말씀 나온다, “세계가 다 내게 속하였나니 너희가 내 말을 잘 듣고 내 언약을 지키면 너희는 모든 민족 중에서 내 소유가 되겠고” 세상의 주인 되심을 말씀하시며 내 언약을 지키라 하시는것이다. 그렇게 내 말을 듣고 지킬 때 세 가지 주신다고 했다. 첫 번째, 내 언약을 잘 지키면 모든 민족 중에 내 소유가 되겠고 — 첫째로 우리가 하나님의 소유가 된다고 했다. 세굴라는 히브리 원어가 사용되었는데, 이는 보석같이 가장 귀중한 것을 묘사할 때 사용된다. 내 말씀을 잘 믿고 따르면 가장 보배로운 존재로 만들겠다는 말씀이다. 성경을 보면 이스라엘 백성들이 이 언약을 지키지 못하고 결국 실패한 것을 볼 수 있다. 다윗의 왕국이 그렇게 바벨론에 멸망당한다. 하나님은 그 이후로 다시 왕을 세우지 않으신다. 6절, “너희가 내게 대하여 제사장 나라가 되며 거룩한 백성이 되리라 너는 이 말을 이스라엘 자손에게 전할지니라” 너희를 제사장 나라가 되게 한다 했다. 제사장은 신과 인간 사이의 중재자이다. 하나님과 모든 열방 사이에 중재자가 되게 하겠다 라는 말씀이다. 모든 나라를 살리는 축복된 나라로 만들겠다는 말이다. 그런데 이스라엘 백성들은 선민의식에 빠져버린다. 세 번째로 거룩한 백성을 만들겠다고 하신다. 지금 이스라엘 백성은 노예근성에 잡힌 상태이다. 이 상태로는 거룩한 백성이 될 수가 없다. 과거의 노예근성을 가지고는 절대 거룩해질 수 없다. 내 말을 듣고 지키면 바로 이러한 백성으로 만들겠다는 것이다. 이러한 말씀을 받고서도 이스라엘은 문제만 터지면 불평과 불신앙을 했다. 오히려 가는 곳마다 하나님을 시험하고 대들었다. 이렇게 가나안 땅에 들어서고 나서도 불신앙하는 모습이 나온다. 그래서 하나님은 머나먼 땅으로 포로로 이스라엘 백성을 보내버리신다. 거룩한 백성이 되는 대신 포로가 되버린 백성들이다. 하나님의 말씀을 붙드는 것이 얼마나 중요한지 이것을 보면 알 수 있는 것이다. 말씀 붙들고 살기만 하면 되는데 그것을 하지 못해 어려움을 겪게 된 것이다. 여기서 우리가 중요한 포인트를 잡아야겠다. 하나님이 말씀하실 때, “내 말을 잘 듣고 내 언약을 지키면 너희는 모든 민족 중에서 내 소유가 되겠고” 라고 하셨다. 거룩한 백성이 되리라고 하셨다. 이 단어가 미래형으로 나온 것이다. 지금은 너희가 그런 상태가 아니지만 앞으로 잘 지키면 너희를 거룩하게 하겠다고 한 것이다. 그러나 이스라엘은 이것에 실패한다. 

(2) 하나님 나라의 백성 The People of the Kingdom of God

벧전 1 Peter 2:9

여기서 중요한 사실 붙잡아야한다. 벧전 2:9 에 비슷한 말씀 나온다, “그러나 너희는 택하신 족속이요 왕 같은 제사장들이요 거룩한 나라요 그의 소유가 된 백성이니 이는 너희를 어두운 데서 불러 내어 그의 기이한 빛에 들어가게 하신 이의 아름다운 덕을 선포하게 하려 하심이라”. 이 말씀 보게 되면 지금 출애굽기에 나온 말과 상반된다. 여기에 나온 동사는 미래형이 아닌 완료형이 사용 되었다. 이미 끝났다는 말이다. 너희는 이미 소유되었다고 말씀하시는 것이다. 이미 끝났다 이 말이다. 이게 무슨 의미인가? 하나님께서 예수 그리스도 통해 언약을 이미 완성 시키셨다는 의미이다. 이스라엘 백성들은 스스로 힘으로 그 모든것을 지킬수가 없었다. 이 땅의 모든 사람들이 마찬가지이다. 이스라엘 백성들이 결국 언약을 지키지 못해 실패했다. 예수님께서 그것을 아시고 이 땅에 오셔서 십자가에 피 흘리심으로 율법을 완전히 완성 하신것이다. 

엄청난 축복이 부여된것이다. 믿는 순간 하나님의 소유가 되고 왕같은 제사장이 된다. 거룩한 나라가 된다. 어떻게? 믿는 순간 즉시 이렇게 되는것이다. 그러면서 말씀 하신다, “이는 아름다운 덕을 선포하게 하려 함이니라”. 너희는 이미 소유된 백성이 되었어, 그러니 이제 선포만 해라, 그러면 하나님 나라가 이루어지게 될 것이다. 거룩한 나라의 백성이 될것이다. 이 거룩한 나라를 이루어라 이 말씀이다. 그러면서 행 1:8 말씀하신 것이다, “오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라 하시니라.” 예수님을 영접하는 그 순간 보좌의 능력이 너희에게 임하게 될 것이라는 말씀이다. 그 능력을 힘입어서 나가게 되면 내가 너희를 증인 삼을것이다 하는 말씀이다. 이것이 복음 가진 자의 축복이다. 우리가 이 모든것을 스스로 할 힘도 없지만 하나님이 모두 하신다는 말이다. 내 힘으로 어떻게 누군가를 살리겠는가. 그러나 내 안에 하나님은 능치 못한 일이 없으시다. 이 언약 꼭 잡으시라. 

3. 평생의 길(제1 전도캠프) The Lifelong Path (The 1st Evangelism Camp)

(1) 나를 바꿔라 Change Yourself

행 Acts 9:15

우리가 어떤 길을 가야 하나? 평생의 길을 결단해야겠다. 그래서 우리는 제1전도캠프의 길을 가는 것이다. 1천 제자를 세우는 그 대열에 들어야 하는 것이다. 그것을 위해 가장 중요한것이 바로 행 9:15 이다, “주께서 이르시되 가라 이 사람은 내 이름을 이방인과 임금들과 이스라엘 자손들에게 전하기 위하여 택한 나의 그릇이라” 누구에 대한 이야기인가? 사도 바울을 두고 하신 말씀이다. 그는 그리스도 만나고 완전히 변화 되었다. 자신의 모든 한계를 벗어났다. 옛 각인, 뿌리, 체질 모두 바뀌었다. 첫번째 우리가 할 것이 이것이다, 나 자신을 바꾸는것이다. 이제는 과거의 모든 타락된 체질, 불신앙의 체질, 노예 체질을 바꿀 때인 것이다. 그것을 어떻게 바꿉니까? 내 마음대로 되지 않는데. 나를 바꾸기 위해 이 777 기도의 집중을 해야 하는 것이다. 우리가 얼마나 큰 축복을 받은 존재인가? 일곱 망대, 여정, 이정표를 붙잡으면 하나님이 내 안에서 역사하신다. 성령께서 여러분을 어루만져 주실 줄을 믿는다.  

(2) 누리기만 하라 Just enjoy [the covenant]

행 Acts 2:1

두 번째로 우리는 이 777 기도를 통해 누리기만 하면 된다. 행 2:1, “오순절 날이 이미 이르매 그들이 다 같이 한 곳에 모였더니” 우리가 지금 매일 3오늘을 하고 있다. 기도 속에 3집중하시고 24시 성공하시기 바랍니다. 반드시 성경을 통해 약속하신 것은 성취된다. 25가 이루어지는 것이다. 이런 자들이 모여 기도할 때 성경에 마가다락방의 역사가 임한 것이다. 여러분도 이 언약 잡고 누릴 때 이 놀라운 능력의 역사 일어날 것이다. 제1캠프에 가장 중요한 것은 절대제자를 세우는 것이다. 

(3) 절대망대를 세우라 Establish the absolute bartizan

행 Acts 9:10

“그 때에 다메섹에 아나니아라 하는 제자가 있더니 주께서 환상 중에 불러 이르시되 아나니아야 하시거늘 대답하되 주여 내가 여기 있나이다 하니” 하나님께서는 아나니아 라는 사람을 벌써 다메섹에 심어 두신것이다. 핍박으로 인해 흩어진 사람들이었다. 하나님께서 파수꾼으로 예비해 두신 것을 볼 수 있다. 아나니아는 바로 이 24시의 축복을 누린 사람이었다. 우리는 제1캠프를 통해 이러한 파수꾼을 세워야 할 것이다. 24 계속 기도하고 있는 파수꾼을 우리가 세우는 것이다. 이것이 절대망대이다. 우리가 이 언약을 잡고 기도할 때 하나님이 약속하신 놀라운 축복의 역사가 현장에 나타나게 될 것이다. 우리가 오늘 말씀에서 보았듯이 우리 하나님은 살아서 역사하시는 하나님 되신다. 3,500년 전에 모세의 기적은 지금도 일어나는 일이다. 이스라엘이 말씀을 붙잡지 못해 실패한 것이다. 모든 것을 완성시키신 하나님께서 이제는 우리에게 이 말씀을 누리기만 하라고 말씀하시는 것이다. 내가 이미 성취했으니 이것을 붙잡고 누려라 하는 말씀이다. 이 응답을 누리는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 

결론 Conclusion

사 Isaiah 60:1

말씀 맺겠다. 사 60:1 말씀 꼭 잡으시라, “일어나라 빛을 발하라 이는 네 빛이 이르렀고 여호와의 영광이 네 위에 임하였음이니라”. 일어나라고 말씀하신다. 이미 거룩한 백성이 되었다. 빛이 이미 네 위에 이르렀다고 하신다. 이 빛을 발하면 자연적으로 흑암은 물러가게 되어 있다. 이 말씀이다. 하나님 나라, 거룩한 나라가 세워질 것이다. 하나님의 영광이 드러나게 될 줄을 믿는다. 이 축복을 받는 여러분 되시기를 주의 이름으로 축원한다.

A Kingdom of Priests and the Kingdom of God 제사장 나라와 하나님 나라 (Exodus 출 19:1-6)

1 In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai. 2 For they had departed from Rephidim, had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness. So Israel camped there before the mountain. 3 And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I ore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. 5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

Introduction

There is a British psychologist named James Hadfield and he was a pastor before. He did a lot of research and presented many interesting points. Hadfield said that fear and doubt blocks all energy but what omits all fear and doubt is your self-confidence. He also said that the influence of your mental energy is all based on your self confidence and if you keep having pessimistic thoughts, then your thoughts will manifest negative results. These results will produce 30% less satisfactory results. But if you keep telling yourself optimistic  thoughts, then you will manifest 500% better results. But Hadfield said that what presents better results are when you tell yourself that God is with you and you can do all things with God. This psychologist presented these research findings with Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This person was someone I believe who knows spiritual reality. We may be weak and lacking but God can do all things. 

1. The People of a Kingdom of Priests

(1) Arrival in the Wilderness of Sinai

Verses 1-2 - It has been three months since they left Egypt which means that it has been two months since they set out from Egypt and traveled in the wilderness. For two months, many events took place but we need to see what God had done for two months. Before God sent Moses to Egypt, God said something to Moses. God told Moses who He was because Moses asked God what he needed to say if people asked who God was, and God responded with Exodus 3:14 “And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’’ ” God was speaking about Himself here. When Moses arrived in Egypt and until he left, God constantly showed who He was. All of the events that took place were to show who God was. God showed Himself through the 10 plagues and showed that He was the true and one God. He also showed that the idols and gods were nothing before Him. God also showed that He was the true King of all kings. God saved the Israelites from the passover through the blood of the young lamb. He is showing that He is the God who gives salvation. Through the splitting of the Red Sea, God showed that He is sovereign over all things, over heaven and earth. God also led the Israelites with the pillar of cloud and fire to show that He is the protector God. In Marah, God changed the bitter water into drinkable water to show that He is the true healer. God provided the Israelites with manna and quail to show that He is the true provider for food and water. Through the miracle of providing water through a rock show that He is the one who provides life. Also the war with Amalek, God is showing that He is the one who governs over all wars. 

Verse 5 - God is showing that He is the true master over all things in this verse. Through the 10 plagues, God constantly showed He was God. That same God is the same God that we believe in today. After God showed the Israelites who He really was, we must hold onto the same God today. Our God is God who can perform all miracles and works. But we can see that God was testing His people in today’s Biblical passage. God was constantly testing the Israelites in the wilderness but each time God was testing them, the Israelites kept complaining. The Israelites kept complaining but why did God keep testing them? God was trying to show their old nature and imprints. Even though they met God and God performed these great miracles, they couldn’t let go of their old nature and imprints of idolatry and of the past. In other words, even though you became a child of God, you still have your old imprints and nature. In order for them to realize this, God led the Israelites through the wilderness. In order to completely and fundamentally solve this problem, God brought the Israelites to the wilderness. 

(2) Bore you on eagles’ wings

Verses 3-4 - God was speaking about an eagle all of sudden but an eagle represents a strong animal. You may know but eagles are really strong animals. 

Deuteronomy 32:11-12 “As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings, So the LORD alone led him, And there was no foreign god with him.” - An eagle when they raise their chicks, they will purposely carry their chicks and drop them from a high cliff. Then, the eagle chick in order to not die, it will try to flap its wings and when it's falling, the mother eagle will scoop up the chick. Then, the eagle mother will constantly do this so the chick will learn how to grow up strong. This eagle mother is training its babies to grow up strong and to show this chick that it is an eagle. This shows the way the mother eagle shows its love to its chicks. God is doing the same thing for us. God led the Israelites out of Egypt to the wilderness and made them cross the Red Sea, and constantly brought hardships to them. Why was that? Because God loved the Israelites so much and made them stronger. God was showing how much He loves the Israelites. There is something more important than this love that God is trying to show them, it is to show them to hold onto Christ. When they crossed the Red Sea, God was showing them that they must be in Christ in order to live. God turned the undrinkable water into drinkable water, and God was showing them to hold onto the cross to live. There was no water for them to drink so God was showing them to hold onto Christ once again. God was showing that you must need to hold onto Christ and Christ alone. This represents how Christ will come and die on the cross, and this is the only way for us to live. In order to overcome darkness and our enemies is to hold onto Christ and the rod of Christ. This all pointed to Christ. All answers are found within Christ. What must we hold onto? Whatever problem comes to us, if we hold onto Christ, then true and absolute answers will come to us. If we find Christ then we can find all answers because He is the true Creator. 

2. The People of the Kingdom of God

(1) Israel Receives the Covenant

Verses 5-6 - God is saying that He is the true master over this world so He told the Israelites to obey Him. If they obey Him then God said that He will give them three blessings. First, if they hold onto God’s covenant then the Israelites can become treasure for all of God’s possessions. We will become God’s treasure. This shows that we will become the most precious jewel to God. If we keep God’s covenant and obey Him then He will become the most precious jewel and nation to God. If you look at the Bible, the Israelites failed to hold onto this covenant. They ended up failing. Eventually, David and Israel ended up falling into the colonization of Babylon. After they failed to hold onto God’s covenant, God never raised another king for the land of Israel. The requirement is to keep God’s covenant and obey Him. 

(2) The People of the Kingdom of God

Second, God promised them a kingdom of priests. This means that God promised them a nation that will be a blessed nation. But what happened to the Israelites? They were supposed to be a blessed nation but they became arrogant. The Israelites were slaves so if you are slaves, then you can’t become a holy nation. The Israelites had to change their past and old imprints. God promised them if they held onto His covenant and obey Him, then God said that they will change. But the Israelites kept complaining to God and had constant disbelief. Whenever God gave them a problem, they would constantly test and challenge God instead. Even when they went to the land of Canaan, they still complained to God. God ended up leaving them. They couldn’t become a holy nation but they became an enslaved nation. They lost hold of how important it is to hold onto God’s word. They just needed to hold onto God’s word and covenant but they failed to do that. There is something that we must hold onto. If we keep God’s covenant and obey Him, God promised them three blessings in verses 5-6. God promised them that they will become His holy nation. This means that God promised this for the future and this will happen to them. But the Israelites failed in the end. 

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” - This was written differently from the book of Exodus. This verse was not in future tense but in present tense. But the book of Exodus was talking about the future tense. What does this mean? This shows that through Jesus Christ, God completed His covenant. The Israelites couldn’t keep God’s covenant and we as human beings, we cannot fulfill God’s covenant. The Israelites failed to hold onto God’s covenant. Jesus Christ came to this world and died on the cross, and completed God’s covenant. This shows the greatest blessing. The moment we believe in Jesus then we can receive the blessing of 1 Peter 2:9 of becoming a holy nation and a royal priesthood. We have already become a royal priesthood and a holy nation then we can proclaim the praises of God. We will become a holy nation. We must proclaim the nation as a holy nation. 

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” - If we accept Christ then the power of the heavenly throne will come upon us. God promised that if we go out with this power then we will become God’s witness to the world. This is the blessing that we have. We can’t do this with our own strength but God can do it. We can’t do anything with our own power but God who is within us, He can do it. Hold onto this covenant no matter what. 

3. The Lifelong Path (The 1st Evangelism Camp)

(1) Change Yourself

We need to raise up 1,000 disciples and the most important thing that we must hold onto is Acts 9:15 “But the Lord said to him, ‘Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.’ ” - This was a message for the Apostle Paul. After Paul met Jesus, everything changed. Paul was about to surpass his limitations and completely changed his past. The first thing that we must hold onto is that we must change our past and our old self. God is telling us to change everything about us, our old nature and old past. Then, how can we change? We must succeed in 7-7-7 prayer. We have great blessings and we must hold onto 7-7-7 then God will be with us with His power. Through the Holy Spirit, God will guide us. 

(2) Just enjoy [the covenant]

Acts 2:1 “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” - Every single day we are doing the 3 todays and through prayer, do the 3 concentrations. Succeed in 24 hour prayer. Through prayer and God’s word, then we can fulfill 25-hour prayer. Then, the great power of the Holy Spirit in Mark’s Upper Room will be upon us. If we hold onto this covenant then great power will be revealed in our lives. 

(3) Establish the absolute bartizan

Acts 9:10 “Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, ‘Ananias.’ ” - God already prepared a disciple named Ananias in advance and there were many scattered disciples at that time. But God prepared Ananias in advance for Paul. Ananias was a disciple who enjoyed 24 hour prayer. Through our life camp, we must build our watchtower and bartizan. To raise an absolute disciple, we must have the absolute bartizan. If we hold onto this covenant and pray, then we can see God’s prepared blessings in our lives and fields. God is a living God and the same God who performed miracles with Moses, He is the same God. The problem was that the Israelites failed to hold onto God’s covenant. God who fulfills all things, He is asking us to obey Him. May we enjoy these answers. 

Conclusion

Absolutely hold onto Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.” - God tells us to arise because we are already a holy nation. We already have the light so we need to arise and shine this light. If we do this, then darkness will automatically go away. We will be raised as a holy nation and God’s kingdom. God’s glory will shine through us. May we enjoy these blessings in the name of Jesus Christ.
